What I understand of RBO Lore (since we don't know it's connection to the mainline HN Franchise I'll try to not link anything in this message)
It appears the game is after a storm hit a town, based off the state of the area around the house we break into/protect.
The Protector is some kind of Wealthy Person in this town, having several Briefcases worth of money
The Intruders are likely breaking in now since after a storm is the perfect time to commit a robbery, as everyone should have evacuated the town

Possible Links to HN:

Protector = Ted Peterson - Unlikely, as I don't see Mr. Peterson calling the cops

So guys I realize this we all know that the Hello Neighbor TV show has differences from the main game like the extra side area the overall layout in the house you know yada yada but in the Hello Neighbor TV series the mayor from hello neighbor 2 is seen in the background of one of the shots I think it was the second episode maybe the third the one where Mr Peterson goes to the hardware store I know very specific I know and after some guy trips and breaks his leg he definitely needs some milk but the mayor is seen in the background and we all know that the neighborhood this all takes place in is based on the one in the main game but this doesn't make sense because after Nikki escapes the basement in act 2 he had to tell the police or something that's why he moved out and we see the house basically destroyed if not totally destroyed in the intro of act 3 and then he goes to the new neighborhood and hello neighbor 2 but that makes no sense because the ACT one house is perfectly fine so yeah in conclusion have a great day yeah

True but think about this after the events of Act 2 when Nikki escaped I'm sure he told someone about where he was it's straight basic logic in the lower he was trapped there for a few months or something people would wonder where he went and he would tell the truth because that is scary to be kidnapped by your neighbor so after the events of Act 2 Mr Peterson vacated to a new neighborhood but that's up to debate because it's called raven Brooks but in the main game Raven Brooks was the neighborhood in the main game so he's in a new town maybe it's Raven Brooks a long while after but that makes no sense because Nikki's house isn't there across the street it's replaced by a new house in the street houses around hello neighbor to Neighborhood doesn't line up with the TV show or the main games so this is a new neighborhood but that makes no sense and the mayor is the mayor of that new neighborhood but he's the mayor in The Raven Brooks and there's characters from hello neighbor 2 that are mentioned in the TV show like The Baker the taxidermist the mayor and a few others I haven't finished the whole thing yet so in the TV show lore Raven Brooks is the same neighborhood for both of the games and sorry if I'm wording this wrong I mean I'm basically just using a speech texture for this because I can't spell speaking of hello neighbor I got that hello neighbor ahh writing from the sign but anyways\ so this means in the show lore that both neighborhoods are the same neighborhoods and maybe that lower transfers over to the games but it makes no sense but yeah basically how are characters from both neighborhoods in the same neighborhood it makes no sense
