in old hn2 it was implied that the fake neighbor being kept in the attic was aaron, and guess what house has an attic? the hnvr house. not only that, but for all we know aarons scream was just him being kidnapped and put in the attic perhaps? also maybe the missing poster at the end of the credits isnt to show he is dead/in the void, but rather hes still kidnapped just by the guest instead

but also judging by the hnvr ending, it was supposed to fit old hn2 but more in the sense of alpha 2 and the beta

not the old alphas

what we need to do is compile everything we knew about alpha 2 and the betas story and make a few paragraphs that could piece together old lore

ofc since there wasnt a lot of info given to us on alpha 2 we will have to theorize for some of it

I think I still have the bare bones Plot for old HN2 I created a few weeks ago written down

the old HN2 follows Quentin (Last name withheld), a Journalist who's new to town working for Channel 4 News (the Raven Brooks Mirror). He has been assigned the Missing Case for the Peterson Kids, Mr.Peterson, and Nicky Roth. After seeing a odd person living in the building next-door to his, Quentin first checks Peterson's Old House, sneaking past cops and finding Mya's Grave. He then heads back to the Banner and sleeps the night away. The following morning Quentin looks out the Banner's Front Door and sees that the person living across from him is none other then Mr.Peterson. from here the exacts are unknown but Quentin eventually gets into the building(Likely still Gray Manor at this point in time)'s attic only to find a fake prop Aaron in the Attic. The Guest shows up behind Quentin and attacks him. The rest of the game would be around finding out more about the Guest and how it seemingly killed Aaron. Ending the Game with the tutorial level again (a early version of the Barn tutorial level from the beta set inside the Mirror instead, forgot to mention this is also the tutorial sequence) revealing Quentin's in a time loop

(I only put in one theory about HN2 Beta being a Time Loop and what happens after the Beta in there)

and a early version of Missing Journalist exists as a VERY early missing poster for him is in the Beta's files and a image of him with Otto is in the beta

(seriously the "missing poster" isn't even textured and we only know it's for him as text on the asset reads "Journalist Disappeared")

What if the neighbor is actually the guest? But not the neighbor we know, the neighbor in alpha 1 had some kind of portal in the basement, maybe to another universe, where he had a family? Maybe he was disguising himself as a crow so that people wouldn't think he is the neighbor, in one of the sneek peeks for the series we can see that the guest is standing on the roof of the neighbor's car, maybe he caused the accident ? But if he wanted a new family, why did he cause it? Maybe he didn't want to kill the mother, but himself, from that universe to take his place, but when he failed and he killed the mother and then his daughter died, the neighbor/guest was still trying to do something, so he moving between universes, which created anomaly, the thing, the neighbor/guest wanted to have at least a son that was only left, so in HN 2 ending he throws big raven on the neighbor to kill him, but when he doesn't die but limps, he stunned Quentin and escape with Aaron, but before that, he burns the neighbor's house to the ground then escape with Aaron and the thing finally found what has been moving between universes for so long, but found the wrong neighbor but to him both are the same so it doesn't matter, he kidnapped him and held as seen in the ending of HN 1 and until Nicky killed SM in act 3 he was haunting the neighbor's house when someone (Nicky) was next to this house, the thing detected him as an enemy and wanted to kill him, but he failed as we know
