Basically the lore of Hello Neighbor Diaries is: Shortly after the ending of HN1 Nicky enters his old room and looks through a box of some old stuff he has and starts trying to remember wat happened all those years ago
HN Diaries Gameplay is just some representation of Nicky going through his brain to try to remember the events that had happened

Lore Overhaul in chronological order: Get ready!
||Pre Books: Ted and his friend Gershowitz grow up in the mysterious town of Raven Brooks with his parents who try to figure out these mysteries. Ted grows up and marries Diane and they have two kids, Mya and Aaron. Ted is an excellent theme park designer. However it is theorized that their bad blood starts around the time of Bosco Bay. ||
||Bosco Bay: Ted is indirectly responsible for murder when his project was stumbled on by Joe and was killed by a malfunction. Her sister, Jen, and her cousin, Allie. Ted tries to stop them from exposing him but fails. They show the evidence but Ted and his family presumably leaves the country. ||
||Fernweh Welt: In the time between Bosco Bay and book 4, the Peterson's moved to Germany to work on Fernweh Welt, a new theme park. Unfortunately on the grand opening, 4 teenagers were sent down a flume ride to part underwater. The ride stopped underwater, drowning the 4 teens. They managed to get 3 out alive, but the safety belt on the 4th wouldn't release and they died. Diane and the kids had to watch the horror and were traumatized. They had to leave the country to the United States to her hometown of Raven Brooks. ||
||Bad Blood: The Peterson family goes back to their family household. Mya and Aaron realize that the town is full of secrets and attempt to uncover the mysteries of their grandparents with the friends Trinity, Enzo, Lucy, and Maritza. They soon discover that their father is building another theme park for the Golden apple corporation. Towards the end of the book Aaron discovers a tunnel system at the family's weather station. Here we see Mr Gershowitz's bloody wallet, to presume his death. ||
|| Grave Mistakes: Aaron and Mya search the tunnel system and they find two people talking. Which they presume to be forest protecters, which is a myth about the forest. They discover more about the secret nests and even one of the devices. But unfortunately it is stolen. The Golden Apple theme park opens and Lucy Yi is killed as the result of her flying off her seat. This deeply affects the town. ||
||Puzzle Master: Aaron accepts a job at the Raven Brooks Banner and he communicates through a person called the Puzzle master. After they discover secrets that their grandparents were arrested and that in Raven Brooks there are different social classes. Ravens, the higher wealthy people, and the crows, who are the normal low class people. Aaron and Mya meet the Puzzle Master, who is Norman Darby. Who was a former worker for the Banner. He tells the kids that Ravens are using special ancient devices in a secret cult. The devices are used to make people lucky, but it must hold a particular balance. However, storms are caused whenever the devices are used. The people they know who are in the cult is Officer Tapps, Mayor Tavish and Gordon Cleave. Thus Aaron and Mya hatch a plan to get the device in their hands. Unfortunately they fail due to confusion with fake and real devices. The finale happens when the golden apple theme park burns down, they expose the ravens in the ritual. The tunnels burn down and the device is lost. Aaron feels guilty and the balance is thrown off because of him. ||
||Missing Pieces: The Peterson family continues to live in Raven Brooks. Ted seems to go insane after his failure of the Golden Apple Theme park. He believes that Aaron is responsible for this. Around that time, Nicky Roth moves in to Raven Brooks and Aaron and Nicky become friends. They go throughout the neighborhood and cause mischief. Nicky also makes friends with Enzo to which Enzo tells Nicky to stay away from Aaron. They get caught in one of their pranks and the two get in trouble. Around this time is when Hide and Seek starts. ||
||Hide + Seek: Mya and Aaron play together often. One day, their parents never show up. After playing, Ted comes home and reveals Diane's death. The whole family is devastated. Aaron is deeply affected and the two play on the balcony of the house. Aaron in a pit of fury pushes his sister of the balcony and kills her. ||
||Missing Pieces--->Waking Nightmare: Nicky goes to Diane's funeral and sees Ted being haunts in the mirror, going insane. Aaron warns him to leave and not come back. After his suspicions, he goes into the Peterson's window and uncovers a bloody note saying "I make bad things happen" Nicky is suspicious that Aaron and Mya are missing, Mr Peterson says that the kids have gone to live with their aunt. Nicky enlists help of his friend Enzo, his sister Maritza, and Trinity. They find out he is doing insane thing such as burying mannequins and eating meals for two people. The Aunt also says that Aaron and Mya are not living with her. They take all the evidence to the police, but are not convinced and do nothing. However, they initiate search parties and set up missing posters.||
||Buried Secrets--->HN Act 1: Nicky becomes obsessed with continuing to find out more about what happened to Aaron and Mya. Nicky's friends become concerned and believe he too has gone insane. They break apart from him and Nicky continues to find more secrets. He finds out that Aaron killed Mya and he travels to the Peterson house (Act 1) he breaks into the basement and manages to find the secret theme park prison for Aaron, the two reunit and are trapped in the basement forever. ||
||HN Act 2: Many years pass and Aaron found a way to unlock Nicky's cell and Nicky escapes the basement. He finds a way out of the neighbor's gated house and escapes thanks to a distraction from Aaron. Presumably, Nicky reports this to the police and they do nothing. Nicky leaves town and escapes the neighbor's clutches. ||
||HN 2: Ted is spotted by Quentin who is investigating disappearances in Raven Brooks. Ted is spotted preventing his son from escaping. He notices Quentin and attempts to murder him. We launch our investigation and try to figure out where the child is. Quentin eventually finds Aaron and attempts to rescue him, but Aaron chooses to stay behind and help his father after he has been crushed by a crow. Quentin is knocked out by a mysterious person and the rest is history. ||
||Reset Day: Many many years pass,The neighbor supposedly leaves Raven Brooks and weird things happen in town known as Reset day. In which every November 2nd the town resets itself after Enzo goes missing. Therefore no one can find Enzo. Enter in Piper, Delia, and their mother. Who moves into raven brooks after Piper's dad died. An inheritance is left behind by their cousin Mrs. Tillman. Once they arrive to Raven Brooks, they are met with angry mobs and are hidden in a garage by a mysterious woman. This freaks them out and they start to leave. But they are blocked by a wall. They stay in Raven Brooks and try to figure out its mysteries. Eventually, Piper and Delia meet Vinod and Jess, who tell them to come over to their house. They come over and Vinod, Jess, and Maritiza reveal the secrets of reset day. The next day, their mom goes missing and the book closes. ||
||HN Act 3: Reset day is supposedly gone and Nicky has been evicted from his city apartment and has no choice but to return to Raven Brooks. He goes to his old house and the neighbor's house is in disrepair. He remembers everything and experiences fear and trauma. Act 3 is a psychological problem in his head in which he tries to overcome his fears of the past and gain a chance. Fear of school, darkness, and supermarkets? He overcomes his fears and while Ted is unable to overcome his, the story of Mr Peterson ends.||

Secret Neighbor (after HN1 act 1) Nicky's friends all team up to rescue Nicky from Ted's basement, but their fear prevents them from even trying to actually break in the house, so they sit in the front yard and imagine stuff in space, not that important.
Hello Neighbor Search and Rescue (after SN? Not out yet so we can't pin point yet) This seems to be SN again but they actually break in this time to save Aaron, Nicky, and Mya. We don't know much but they do not succeed because Nicky escapes by himself as seen in act 2 of HN1.
Hello Engineer (last game in the timeline where we play as the SN kids) Bagger and Scout did not join this game for some reason but oh well. Enzo, Maritza, Trinity, and Ivan all go to the amusement park to gather parts for the inventors contest, while gathering parts they encounter Ted experimenting on mannequins, making killer drones, and the giant spider of course. This game is a bit confusing at times, since it's a mix of real life and imagination, basically all scenes at night are in real life, and all scenes at day are imagination. So all cutscenes are in real life. Eventually after getting their car parts they build it together and then Ted teleports them to another world, the sandbox, where a clubhouse resides, and where a shrine of Lucy is, we do not know how they escape this world as it ends on a cliffhanger. The lore of the game is that Ted is trying to bring someone or multiple people (his family) back to him by experimenting with time travel, pits open up in the park that also teleport you, and Ted is constantly using Mayak's power to power up his experiments, mechanisms, and the Observatory to power the spider, it's also what teleports the kids. The mannequins are also sentient and all of them are um dead.
Graphic novel 2 (after HN2) Ted somehow loses Aaron as he longer has him in that book. Regina and Pris have to leave town as the town is starting to flood, they meet Ted who had a weird obsession with this one crow that he talks to too. Regina at some point, in her mind/dream state, enters a realm we call the "Nest" which is where the Guest resides, here we learn he can shapeshift, takes things people don't deserve, and likes to correct people's grammar lol. Regina gets out of the Nest and makes her way to Mayak where Ted is talking to the crow again. There Ted explains he tried to change the past but failed (Hello Engineer) and that the only way left is forward, so punish the whole town. Regina ends up changing Ted's mind and he decides to be good and stop the flood, as he was using the weather machine to do so. He tried to turn it off when thr Guest appears from a wall underwater and choked and drowns Ted. Pris finds Regina, and then Ted now dressed and possessed by the Guest attempts to attack them but fails. The kids run out as Mayak explodes, but possessed Ted lives on.
Hello Neighbor Diares (literally right after HN1 act 3) Adult Nick goes to his room and sees stuff from his childhood when he was with Aaron, he gets tramua and fear again and it's all in his mind again blah blah it's not that special it's just act 3 again, we don't know how it ends though as it's not finished.
