it's just that the textures and the leaves aren't in the oldart style (I argue the leaves aren't even newart, rather a failure to represent the newart leaves)

the leaves are detailed, the branches are stylized, the textures have depth

I'd personally change the textures still to make them closer to oldart's texture style but if one was gonna change the foliage and didn't have much skill
I'd recommend the HN2 trees

you will have to move some stuff around, add a few extra stuff and do alot of optimization tricks but I think it'd be worth it to just overall look nicer

there's not really a good way to define a horror game involving an in-universe mascot as the main part of the horror other than "mascot horror", and this is because if you call it "horror for kids" just because it involves an in-universe mascot for kids it would severely limit what games in this medium are allowed to do

so whoever decided to put Hello Neighbor in that category actively do not understand why people call it mascot horror

it absolutely should be based on in-universe mascots, not irl mascots
especially because with a definition like that, something like Texas Chainsaw Massacre can be considered mascot horror since Leatherface is the face of that franchise
