the alphas were a lot more balanced and unpredictable in my opinion because:
1: the hitboxes were smaller and there was a delay to pick up items, making it so you can't spam the neighbor
2: the neighbor had blocking so he could avoid projectiles if he was skilled enough.
3: the neighbor's loadout was more customizable allowing for more unpredictability in matches, as you don't know what to expect
4: being able to design your character was just cooler and made me feel more attached to my avatar

tbh, art style isn’t what the game needs rn. What the game needs, is a good update filled with content because the last one of those we got is probably Christmas update. It also needs separate voices for classes. Furthermore, we need updates every 2-3 weeks with some little map changes: moving stuff around etc. With these in place, the game would feel a lot better. And of course, balancing as well.
