Actually no, the files for MS Store games have been available for people to modify for a few years now, just like any other PC store. It used to be you had to do a trick to get permission to edit them, but now you can do whatever you want.

It's not always helpful, but when you're outside and there's a drop, grab someone and hold them over it.
When they get saved, they'll fall to their death and you can focus on the person who rescued them.

What are Butcher's class perks? The ones specific to Butcher, usually the last 2/3.
I don't actually play Butcher, so I'm not sure.
Stun resistance can be good to stop you getting stunlocked. Butcher naturally has more health than others anyway.

Maybe try switching to a stealthier play style?
Say there's two people, with nimble hands and milk you can down someone before they have time to react, usually, when you're still an explorer, then switch to neighbour to grab the second.
You can also try fighting near bookcases or gates so you can take a break from the fight when you're low (that's part of why I like Clown, since you can switch to an item and throw smoke to get your health back).

It's not always the solution but it's fixed it for me in the past. If you're on Windows, go to settings -> sound -> then find the per application sound settings and make sure the input/output are correct (SN's aren't always changed when you change it normally in Windows).
