For me, I like Brave and Detective the most.
Brave feels great for not really worrying about the neighbours. While now that I have the maps memorized, Detective can get keys so quickly.

I also like Clown. I only play Clown though so I can't say how good it is in comparison. The disguise and smoke are just too fun.

I believe you have to close it before the kid you hooked gets too close. It just means nobody can rescue them, there's spots to do this on every map but Amusement Park (there's only one gate, and it has a window next to it that's usually open, so you can technically do it but it's not really helpful).
