I think his damage is fine, if you can avoid getting hit. Get caught in the wrong place with nowhere to take cover, and I think it's fine he can win. Otto's style, IMO, feels like he's designed to force kids into certain areas and situations that are advantageous for him (but in practice not so much, just in theory).
Bring a second explorer or have a saucepan, and you're probably going to kill Otto even if he gets the first hit in.

Explorers have the scared effect when fighting. When Brave is charged up, she loses scared. So, it's Brave's braveness meter.
