I think you just have to try a few times. Or restart your game. The error goes away eventually (it doesn't take long, at least as far as I've seen it).

I'm trying to recall rare things like you mentioned, and I'm sure I've seen some, though I can't remember. So have this instead.

Getting grabbed the exact moment you trigger the basement enter animation. Rare because it usually never happens and people don't grab at that exact moment.
But it still counts as a win and an escape, even though you've been grabbed.

Exactly. Playing as Brave, if I'm waiting to get a counter strike use for the XP, I always time it so I enter the basement at the last second. Since you only have to enter, you get the 100XP for basement entered by starting the animation.

I mean, I try to use counter strike before I go in so I get the extra XP. If I don't get it, I wait down the timer in case they show up and grab me (unrelated to the basement thing).
I just let the timer get to 1 second before entering, because I don't need to do the entire animation to get the basement XP.

You've got benefits for two play styles, so that freedom is nice.
Key hunting - you have a good dodge to get out of harm's way quickly and the ability to see which keys you need (might not seem like a lot, but in cases where you're debating which key to drop, it's nice).
And then you can also play as a kind of guardian angel with the neighbour sighted icon!

I don't play Journalist though, so I'm just basing this on theory. But it sounds right!

Its the glitch where you spam detectio so much to the point it lags whenever you use it. Then if you use it right after jumping off a ledge, you teleport back

You can also delay your transform with this

Its not that useful, but its quite strange

I also learned from this that lag slows down your cooldown (low fps)

So if you are in a slideshow, aka 20- frames, then you have a slightly higher cooldown

My favourite is one that lets you go through ceilings, though I don't share that one here so people don't abuse it / it gets patched one day (I only really use it to get out of bounds, it's the only way I know of to get out of Missing or Wanted).
