hey, folks, I'll send over some information about the penalty system for clarity, and it will be pinned. Might be useful for new comers, and evrb who has been wondering about it

About the penalty system and how it works

How to get a penalty:

• Leave a quick game or brawl match manually, while being one of first players to leave (and/or being a neighbor);
  "ok"-dialog shows up, with the text:
  *"Warning: Leaving a match in progress with other players negatively affects the experience for everyone and will affect your matching in future rounds. Do you still want to quit?" which warns player that it is not safe to leave current match right now.*

When is it safe to leave a match:
QG: when the Neighbor is missing from the match;
QG and Brawl: when two or more kids already left the match;
Custom Game: always.
When there's a text present below "Exit" button of the ingame escape-menu, saying "Game is safe to leave"

What does penalty do:

• Player with penalty points has an on-screen info about how many matches he/she has to win in order to remove penalty points totally;
• Quick game becomes "for players with penalty only";
• No daily quests and experience gain (even in Custom Game!);

How to remove penalty points:

• Win a match in Quick Game (each victory removes two points);
• Log into the game on daily basis. Each day starting from "tomorrow", 2..3 penalty points will be removed just for them coming back into the game

There are 3 types of fear levels that effect the kids differently.

Fear level 1: this is the smallest fear level. This fear type allows the chase music to play and the screen to shake but the edges of the screen do not get dark and you do not hear your heart beat. The guest's scaring croak only drops the item being held and the scaring croak stun time for kids under this type of fear is halfed. The butcher can still smell this type of fear however the trail disappears 50% faster. This is the type of fear kids have whilst having counterstrike charged or whilst under the inspiration effect. This would be a good change as it allows the kids to have a slight advantage against the fear debuffs with their abilities but doesn't undermine the advantage the neighbor gets when he uses his abilities that involve fear

Fear level 2: this is the normal type of fear you get when you see the neighbor. Chase music still plays, your screen still shakes and the guest can scare croak all items out of your hands as normal and the butcher can still smell fear. Inspiration and counterstrike can still remove this type of fear however it will turns into fear level 1 which cannot be removed whilst engaged with the neighbor. Fear levels one and 2 obviously won't stack.

Fear level 3: you get this type of fear if you have any fear effect for longer than 20 seconds and will stack with your current fear level. Fear level 3 makes you scared enough that it causes you to do 50% less damage when you throw an item. This will make it so if kids are engaged in a fight with the neighbor for too long they will slowly start to do less damage, giving the neighbor the upper hand in a fight. This will encourage kids to play less combat based and not try to kill the neighbor and instead run away. Fear level 3 diminishes/resets after you no longer are engaged with the neighbor (basically when your current fear effect is over) and you can always avoid this level of fear by running away from the neighbor

well yeah those are stupid (why is glue even based on a timer?) but they're so inconsequential that they don't annoy me much and the ones that do serve a purpose are convenient enough to where i like having them

Here's some changes that I would, possibly, include within a "Fear Rework"

-Some classes will be more afraid of the Neighbor than others. Detective will be the one whom gets scared the most, and can attract fear easily, while Brave will be the well, ya'know, the bravest.
-Fear meter. The more a kid is a exposed to fear, the more impacting it's affects are. Kids can only reduce their levels of fear by eating or drinking milk. (usually eating food and stuff is a coping mechanic for our brains, which can help us feel more safe when we are exposed to something that our brains think is life-threatening)
-Kids can be affected by fear when: They get stuck in a trap, they encounter the neighbor, or when the power in the house is shut off.
-Fear will be more of a game changer. If a kid's fear meter reaches Tier 3, they will start to be erratic. When this happens, kids will make noise when hiding in closets, their screen will become off-balance for longer when they encounter the neighbor, and they will suffer Fear will looking at traps. This incentivizes the kids to keep themselves safe and stay clear from the Neighbor no matter what.
-Kids who are affected by Tier 3 Fear can reduce their Fear back to Tier 1 or Tier 2 when staying with others for a short time. However, their fear meter cannot fully be reset.

I pretty just made sort of a Sanity meter for the kids, in which the more they are exposed to Fear elements, the slower they descend into "madness". There would still be 3 tiers toward Fear, it's just that the effects of each tier would become more severe over time.
