After restarting my game a few times, I found it is possible to get in the game. I tried and managed to play a couple matches earlier before getting disconnected, it's surprisingly active even with what is happening. The shop is nothing interesting (Hero Scout, Space Leader). It works for Xbox for me occasionally (I don't know about other platforms), you can try on your platform, just restart your game and keep dismissing the error message. But don't be surprised if you disconnect during the match.
