I would like to ask Nikita if the AI update rate will be affected by distance in future versions of HN3 (or even in the release version), as I remember that Stalker 2 had significant issues with AI due to CPU load (graphics and AI, as well as transparent materials in the UE 5.1 version) that heavily taxed the CPU and ran on a single core. I noticed that HN3 has a similar issue, and I wonder if it would be easier to limit AI actions based on distance, as was the case with HN2. And make the online mode available to NPCs within the player's line of sight?

Hard to say, but highly unlikely. We added this because if you don't have items and got taken by the Guest, you got to just sit thought the whole travel distance to the "prison" and then try to escape. It might be fun first few times but after 20 times, people just restart the session. Also this made Guest annoying rather that scary.
We decided to focus on the gameplay with the Guest itself: being able to hear him approaching, being able to hide, distract, move around the forest sneaky etc. This approach is much more fun to play, that free ride to the "prison"

Also I'd like to add that I think the uncanny effect that you are trying to go for in HN3 is working. Because playing it gives me a sort of like memory type thing and I think that's what I'm experiencing. I think I got the same feeling with Hello Guest and that's why it's coming back. I don't know how you and your team did it but it's really effective. Genuinely well done!

One thing I liked in the pre alpha is the bakery blowing up. The effects of it looked really good, and it was an interesting scenario and scripted "Death" event. However, Jacob's car crash in the pre alpha felt kind of weak to me. The way it worked in p1 and p2 just felt that it was done a lot better.

It's just an artstyle thing(the skin colours)
But HN3 is many years after, taking place in 2028 while act 3 was in 2017
