What changes/improvements could you say there are in the next build of the game?
As we know,
New items
New 3d models
Locks and keys (what version idk)
New npcs (probably isaac and new character nikita said)
Npcs can open the doors (normally npcs enters an room without opening doors)
Finished alma model (quality textures and her head)

One issue I noticed with draggins is that there isn't a penalty to getting thrown. Is this going to change? (I.e, you lose one item from your inventory, determined randomly.)

but I really hope it won't become something really rushed and unfinished just to be released
You say that like the first game didn't have a unique style, i'd say Hello Neighbor 3's style is far less consistent and refined.

I just wish the style of HN3 was consistent, the character models don't match the locations or items.
Everything except the characters looks minimalistic.

only thing i dont like story-wise about hn1 is that nicky has bruises and scrapes on his legs, peterson doesnt seem like the type to go out of his way to harm the kid he already has in captivity

Aaron has always been that one odd part of the story for me. The story has expanded into all this urban legend stuff, The Guest, strange storms and the weather station. but Aaron is the only thing that barely gets addressed. It's making me wonder if he even still matters in the story.
peterson has bunk bed in mayak in pre-alpha so maybe
I still find it odd how the Mayak barely resembles a weather station. (Obviously it's going to look more like one in the future.)

Something which honestly shocked me was that the Mayak was in the Pre alpha at all. I Always had a feeling that it would be in the game eventually in like the final release. But I wasn't expecting it to be as early as Pre-Alpha.

There are very few items you can pick up and play with, it feels rather limited.
You DO realise its a pre alpha...right? And that everything in this build is to be taken with a grain of salt?
I mean yeah.. but that's what we said about the first two games when the builds started getting worse. I think we need to learn from our mistakes and just make our grievances known early on.
Well hn3 looks promising, its a pre alpha and they already have a final map made, with interesting characters, cool puzzles, cool artstyle etc.

My fav part about playing the hn3 builds is that I get to make the ai glitch and the fact I can just sacrifice them to the forest dweller.
My favorite part of HN3 is the characters designs they look nice, i just wish the locations had more effort put it in.
For example the concept of exploring a rundown Supermarket in Hello Neighbor is awesome. But it just looks really boring and uninteresting.

Use the turbo mode of the flashlight on him and he drops you
how that works is you flash foxy and he gets stunned for a bit, then after a while he walks slowly then progressively gets faster
yeah I think him working like foxy would definitely be beneficial
mainly the starts off slow and progressively gets faster (its more a rage thing, not an animatronic thing)

but do you have any clue on how to get to the weather station? i've been to all 4 locations and done the objectives, gave the supermarket guy the vhs tape, gave the baker the cookbook, got all the notes from the locations, now its telling me to go to the weather station and I have to find an ice cream stand near the amusement park section

Hello neighbor 3 is trying to not be bad
So far the pre alpha makes it really promising
yeah it looks really interesting
my only issue is the AI
i like having to work things out though, which is exactly what this pre alpha has going for it
but early gameplay can feel slow because you dont know about the things you can do for the baker or guy near supermarket
its kind of similar to Deathloop in that regard, where the game only tells you things when you find it yourself
Once you explore the whole map it will start to make sense
the only area I haven't been to is the amusement park
unless there's more to the map
i've been trying to get the cable car lever at the museum but the granny is just way too annoying

The way i did it was going in between the 2 buildings and taking the sign, climbing up and breaking a window, and stacking 2 boxes on the second floor

because I think it happened to me when I stunned him and tried to grab him
it kind of showed him being in my arms for split second

pre Alpha doesn't contain WHOLE narrative. But what it has is more or less (ish) canon. Other elements of the story in progress to be added

It's all comes down to the limited resources we have. We got to prioritize.

Generally size of the map won't change, but houses that present there can be added, removed or changed. So we update, replace and remove houses, but it's hard early to say exactly the amount of all the locations atm.
For now we focus on the core story only.

Guys, I have a question that's been bothering me for days. In HN1, when Nicky sneaked into the neighbor's basement, it was quite large, but in HN2, when Quentin went down to the neighbor's basement, it was very small. What could be the reason for this?

There one thing about the game that we poorly explained to the players. Hopefully weāll be able to do so in the future, but in a nutshell:
Game is about finding shortcuts and optimizing. There is always multiple ways to reach your goal and all of them faster and more interesting than breaking the door itself š Game is about freedom of exploration. So, if you see a door, blocking your path, try to use window, for example.
This led players to get frustrated, because they think they have to repeat all tedious actions, like throwing a chair at the door to break it. But in reality, any location can be reached in under a minute (roughly), and exploration and open-mindness helps to find these routes š
We working now on how to explain this to the players so they have as much fun as we do, playing the game

This is impossible, this is the opposite of what we do. There is no ārightā way. Yes, there are many ways we added consciously, there are many ways emerged that we know of and many more ways weāre not even aware of.

We placed inviting path out of the window near room 204, so players in the first playthrough, would use this to initiate exploration. But we were wrong and people kept throwing chairs at the door

no i mean, what I mean is that there are definitely multiple ways to do things, and I assume you want players to find their own ways, but some players need a push to be able to find out they can do certain things, if you get what I mean
like for example, players might not know they can open windows, or break windows, etc
not all players will be past Hello Neighbor fans, for example I havent played much of the previous iterations of HN3 so I didn't know you could befriend some of the people as that knowledge wasn't in my head beforehand, some players might never figure that out
but yeah I totally get what you mean about not wanting to take away exploration, because I assume your final goal will be a big (ish) built up world that people can just explore and find stuff out as they go, without being told things like "oh, you can break through this window to get this item"
Yes. Thatās the idea. To find a way to nudge players into natural exploration without taking away their decisions

The only times I resorted to breaking a door was if it had a board on but I couldn't find any more crowbars or saws nearby so I had to just throw items at it. or if I physically couldn't find any other way to enter a room or unlock a door, I would just sledgehammer it open. But apart from those two scenarios, I could get past any locked or blocked door without having to break it.
I definitely think giving some of the items a bit more durability would help that because I did find myself struggling to get past boarded doors often due to my crowbars breaking.
I'm just wondering, Will there be a barrier between the forest and the city so that the atmosphere changes once it crosses this barrier?
I also hope you add the build mechanics you use in Patch 9 that it serves the game system in my view

Thing is, people do not know how game expected to be played, since we poorly communicated it.
When people stumble upon locked door, they have a dilemma - either game just made poorly and tedious ||(especially after P3, where it was much easier to break doors)||, or there is another ways to get behind a locked door.
Since usually video games do not have total freedom, like HN3 does, players usually expect more straightforward experience. And since there is also a āhealthābar on the door, people naturally think that they have to break the door.
