One question about the storm:
since it’s gonna be some sort of Groundhog Day situation, it basically restarts but you keep the quests etc.
How would that work out with the original premise of having NPCs that adapt to your behavior when it comes to sneaking into their homes? Wouldn’t the NPC forget its interactions with you after each storm?

HN3 never had plans for NPCs that learn from your actions, though. Unique aspect of AI that we explore in HN3 is the ability to adapt to the changes in the world. Watch Devlog episode 2, we cover that system there.
“Groundhog day” in HN3 “works” a bit differently. But I can’t explain it without revealing the story and underlying concept.
Will the next version feature a cutscene like how Prototype 3 had an intro and ending cutscene
I don’t know. Probably not. We plan to deliver introduction to the story with a playable intro segment (and some cutscenes but mostly playable) and we want to do this a bit later, since the foundation of the game and gameplay is more important than introduction at this point of development. And since we have finite resources, we got to prioritize.
Cutscenes in P3 proved to be very expensive to make and they slowdown other animations, since we have only one animator in our team.

Hey Nikita, was Isaac always meant to be a child? He almost looks like an adult in this old missing poster from Prototype 2.
Was Alma originally a tourist from the P3 cutscene, who had a quest to follow a book about doing 100 things before they die before changing her role to the daughter of Golden Apple Company president
At the stage of development when this poster was created, we didn’t have full story of the Isaac. Not only his age, but in general.
That’s why I made this poster dirty, so we could have it without revealing the look of the character.

I don’t comment on the story, sorry. All I can say is that the Thing (shadow creature) won’t return. To say it even better - it can’t return. It’s a metaphorical representation of the fear in HN1. It’s tied to the subjective experience of the Nicky and doesn’t make sense to play role for the Alma. 🙂

i think it will probably be a bit longer but this amount fits the best as of right now
As of pre alpha you just kind of get a few notes and all then in like a couple sessions you can just skip over that process and go directly to Historian house, then museum, etc.
I think even just making those notes harder to collect or even making some other info-based objectives(admittedly not much comes to mind here) would do fine.
So like you will need to go through sessions but they would make it easier to complete.

Just like Hello Neighbor 2 I didn't need to look up much of anything which is AMAZING.
The AI isn't all that great.. But it's a pre-alpha so it makes sense. Just please don't make them follow you to the ends of the earth. That can get really annoying.
Also I do hope they add more to the protagonist like Nicky and Quentin. Make them a likeable character
The ONLY real problem I had with this game was the end part because the "Guest" Raven guy just constantly resets you. Please figure out a way to make the guest scary to encounter but not annoying!
For all the other NPC's when they catch you they grab you and throw you outside their house without taking any of your stuff which was a NEEDED problem. But for some reason they thought/made the guest grab you and then essentially kill you which resets where you were and takes all your stuff making getting to where you need to go absolutely horrible.
Also they got rid of the vaulting which I don't like and also don't get? I thought that was a amazing mechanic because one of the things that made HN1 bad in my opinion was the stacking boxes thing.
I also think they should come up with something to do when you pick up the NPC's because so far all you can do is just drop them off somewhere and then they just get back up like nothing happened. So there's not real reason to even pick them up.
Overall I really enjoyed the game's design and look it just needs major fixes!

HN3 is built with many ways to achieve your goal and way to optimize routes. If something feels extremely hard or tedious it usually means there’s other, simpler and more interesting way to reach your goal.

I was avoiding the guest and trying to get there, thinking that it's an optional journey, but then it just turns out to be a dead end due to the collapsed bridge. I'm really sorry for bothering, it's just that I thought I have to say it as a form of feedback.

For a game with multiple routes and ways of progressing it sure is missing multiple ways to the park. I guess once you figure out the Guest it could be too easy. I kinda hope in the future they add more to the trail and make it an actual route you can take. Maybe you need to like, repair a bridge first or something. Make it more interesting

The whole point of the game is that you only have to do things like that once to progress. It's why knowledge saves between runs.
TLDR: You don't need to collect the papers every time you play the game, since you already have the knowledge they provide.
You can just start a run now and head straight to the Museum, which there are multiple ways of doing too.

Since they're updating all the prop models I hope this means they'll start adding hand animations for the items
animations are not a huge priority at the moment
it's better they work on the code and stuff and get every object in the game first
