literally THE ONLY flaw i had in my playthrough is the lag and its frustrating that i cant do more with the game since its genuinely fun
the lag is preventing me from doing like 80% of stuff
Idk about that "execute my plans" part, just one ending makes it feel more restricted
its playable but u gotta suffer through the lag all cause of trees it seems
my rating of pre alpha is 7 out of 10
better than prototype 3 imo, atleast the game tells me what to do
i mean its a pre alpha and the storyline itself is like better even if its the only one for now
theres so much to expore in this build but i literally cannot because of the lag 😭

Pre alpha is annoying with the historian
the only characters i came across properly were like janusz and isaac
cant play the game for long enough with this lag and i genuinely believe my pc could handle such a game
its just like not optimized well
for me it doesnt refresh fast enough, i have a 180 refresh rate and its still buggy, also when those weird trap-mobile thingies catch me they never let go i was just stuck there
im not gonna watch any vids on pre alpha i lowk wanna explore myself and i hope they do some fixes to pre alpha so we could do it
ok the gradual story thing is actually kinda cool

WOW! the pre alpha is SO GOOD! each prototype just got better and better, and now the pre alpha is even better too! It feels more polished than prototype 3, and the notes feature is amazing. Cant wait to play some more later!

no it is something that bothered me too, cause its not just the house owners but also the bots with traps that capture you and NEVERRRR let go. I had to reset twice because of that
fall damage and the guest being instant game overs is ruining the experience for me
like i open the door and im immediately captured
honestly i can only judge the game when i play it properly
it makes me not want to experiment or explore because im being punished for it
from what i managed to play its genuinely the best build
true you gotta be so persistant
i think there should be a health bar and ways to heal instead of instantly dying to the guest or the fall damage\

he supossed to be a coward instead evil
like, i feel like they gave us choice but then revoked it because it wasnt good for the player but it was one of the top reasons why i loved hn3 was because it was so diverse and you could really reach the full story whilst still having that free exploration and interaction with the world and its people.

In my opinion its worse. The NPCs get stuck in stairs often, the fall damage can get annoying and it feels more empty. In P3 the NPCs wandered around and now in Pre alpha I only see Janusz around and nobody else. I haven't played for long but these r things I've noticed

Oh and the durability of crowbars etc. It takes 2 crowbars to open up a door and It's really really exhausting especially because now crowbars aren't that easy to find.

NPCs feel like theyre just regulated to puzzles now (give X item to get Y result) instead of giving them any item to see what they do with it, but I may not have experimented enough

Using crowbars to break door directly is not really efficient. Crowbars works bets on boards that block doors or windows

Oh i broke the door to 204 with ||a saw and a crowbar|| well i guess there just needs to be code put in place to prevent that then if its an issue in your perspective but still i think its quite resourceful to keep options open and use what you find

The fall damage doesn't work well sometimes, when an AI kicks you out of their house, like the Historian in the Museum for example, she can throw you out from a high floor which leads to the game restarting due to the fall damage.
where can I find it?
I found the saw in ||201|| on the bed and then crawled out the window and did some parkour to get above the hotel, then went downstairs to an abandonedish floor to get the ||crowbar||

Yo Nikita currently playing the pre alpha, one thing im confused about is why the npcs still dont properly use/open doors even tho it was shown as early as in devlog 3
i think its just the optimization mostly and lag but everything else is fine

like its not laggy, its say its pretty smooth but it feels glitchy and choppy when i turn my camera or walk through crowded environments like the town

also another complaint of mine i see people having is the fall damage, you shouldnt make a vertical map AND have the npcs throw you upwards when the fall damage is so unforgiving

U cant break a item (especially boards and doors), less npc, bad ai (janusz cries only), there is no cutscene, very very very less content
so sometimes he would accidentally get you stuck in the house mseh

Crowbar is best for boards on doors and windows. Breaking WHOLE doors is inefficient. There are always easier and faster routes than breaking doors as a whole, although breaking is not forbidden.

I really don’t think that building had anything to do with the manor.
Something about Hello Neighbor 3, is that there's no vibe or mystery to it honestly. RBO, had a color scheme to it that gave it certain look, and atmosphere, Hello Guest had green/blue tones with high contrast, while HN3 uses only de-saturated brown tones that give it a very earthy real look, but I don't think that's a good thing since it's not a very memorable visual style.
A lot of the map looks the same, buildings don't particularly stand out.
I dunno, I just don't get that same feeling that HG and RBO gave, and still gives me.

Prototype 3 progression didn’t happen in cycles, you had to do alot of things all over again

jacob will crash, but saving him does not affect you in any way

the guest also doesn't have opportunities to catch anyone either, it feels like he's only a threat to you rather than the whole town
everyone feels tied to their houses instead of roaming freely, and will only leave to chase you

what I think is that they need to balance both system from P3 and PA
Cause like, Prototype 3 is way more open but way more confusing
But Pre alpha feels like a walking simulator, player has way more clear objectinve to do but in the end it's just collecting one note after another just to get to an boring ending point
I feel like my main issue was NPC balance
I think they're too fast, rush trough anything, always know where you are when you've angered them, and can pass trough blocked passages.
Yeah its the same with the statue parts the first game was fun because it wasn't getting a bunch of part to do something it was actually puzzles that weren't c9nfusing but challenging
this new notes-based approach is great
The trickiest part of hn3 for me is the clutter enviormet dont get me wrong it look fabulous beautiful but its very hard to find or see stuff

To me the scenario is a bit too dynamic. I have a hunch that these non-flat scenarios make the navmesh for the npcs weird. Also the fact most passages and loops are always blocked by something, making it hard to escape npcs or move generally
I don't really like it, it's literally collecting one note in one location that tells you to get ot other locations and in the end it's just going from Point A to point B to point C to point Z for some reason
it just feels so annoying

I like retaining knowledge
it's one of the best things they've added to the gameplay loop
and even though the notes specifically might be a bit too specific
they could easily swap those out later

Well I guess I see your point, then again I think this was done so you're kinda forced to explore the main areas of the town. I do hope each location offers something to make the scavenger hunt worth it besides story progression
and i also keep making progress but then i either get camped by the guest or die from fall damage because an npc chucked me so its kinda frustrating
