Yeah, the Guest just tries to kidnap her, and ones that happens they both get stuck on a fence. And this is just one of the examples of her getting stuck.

Itās not that simple. UE5 is not just worse version of UE4 but with lumen and nanite.
Its has a lot of features for easier development. Also this version is always up to date for the modern platforms.
If you know what to do and have enough resources - UE5 can run pretty good
that's exactly what i say the newer versions of UE have more features and optimization features and is generally easier to use but everybody criticizes it even though they haven't tried optimizing it to its fullest...
HN3 had pretty realistic look bcs of UE5 lightning system, if forgetting about optimisation, hope in pre-alpha where models will be detailed, optimisation will be better
could you elaborate a little more on that? of course i imagine that having better hardware or optimization programs simply can allow ue5 to simply just run better (not that i've noticed too many differences between it and ue4), but are there any specific techniques you've learned of while using ue5 that differentiate from what you'd do on ue4?
I think he was talking about the workflow. Like the engine has more shaders making it run slower than ue4. But the better ux & workflow of ue5 is worth it

Hi, sorry if i'm not meant to do this here, but i wanted to ask something about HN2. I remember seeing teasers and clips for alpha 2 in the devlogs and the ai overview, but i've seen some oddities pointed out in analysis videos (Like the presence of tposing theodore in the artstation images for the manor, and the floating living room from some teasers, but also jeez the neighbor is micro compared to his house). I feel like some of these things make it seem alpha 2 was just a showcase for potential concepts, and was not exactly intended to be playable (but then again, the idea for the game shifted cuz of issues which are totally understandable). so i'd like to know if anyone actually knows. I really apologize if i'm not supposed to ask about anything here, but i'd be thankful to know: Is alpha 2 an actual build, or is it just some concepts showcase like the early prototype of the first game? And, sorry if it's a stretch, but if it's a real build, would it be possible to be released, or at least somewhat of a playthrough? Really, sorry for asking in the wrong place if so. I'm like the youngest person here
UE5 can run just as fast as UE4. People often skip optimization, because of limited resources. Great example is Arc Raiders. Game is UE5. Runs flawlessly.

The playable āalpha 2ā was most likely what was shown in the showcase stream. The graymanor level was all just concept locations for testing and promotional material.

I was curious because of the nature of the AI in the game how the guest would behave in certain cercumstances. From my findings, if you shove enough bananas in the guests face you can befriend him. Even more surprisingly, the number of bananas might be around 3-4 which is a lot less then what I assumed.

By resource I mean: time, money, people, skill.
you have to collect statue parts for the statue that's located outside of the hotel. and making sure that the town citizens do not get taken away by the guest.

alright i will give you some tips of how you can get the town people from the guest in a easier way.

tip 1: carry your flashlight all the time because the guest hates it when you shine the flashlight at him. so make sure your carrying the town people WHILE holding the flashlight in your hand so the guest won't annoy you.
tip 2: make friends with the guest. give him some food and drinks. you can make friends with the guest and he will leave you alone. you can carry the town people without the guest annoying you.
hopefully these tips will help you out.
I love how you can befriend enemies, it just goes to show how progressive the AI has becomeāand how actions affect everyone around you, the butterfly effect.

I do not believe the guest will always kill you, as Nikita said beforeāthey donāt want it to feel like a defeat when you die, but rather another chance towards the end, another mistake youāll learn to avoid and adapt to.

Btw, timer can not be "removed" due to how game works. There is no timer.
Its just time frame during which bots trying to reach their goals by following external parameters like time of day and circumstances in surrounding.
If we imagine that time just continue going, after all goals are reached - characters will have nothing to do.
It's no a timer limit. There's just nothing exist outside of the given time frame.

Oh. Also, you mentioned in Devlog 2 that the time frame will take place over the course of multiple in game days spanning across several real-time hours. Is that still the plan or has the time frame been shortened down? (for instance, 3 in game days over the course of just 1 real time hour)
They didn't find a purpose in the story for her yet.
That was initial idea. For now it seems too much for how the game works.
It's going to be more compact experience. 1.5 in-game days spanning 30 real-time minutes (-ish)

Their behaviour doesn't change depending on if they're inside or outside, they just go and do whatever they need to do for their goals.
Stuff only changes if you interfere with their jobs which causes a butterfly effect. It doesn't completely shift how they work. (Or I don't think it does at least. This is really complicated to explain)

I wonder if I can share some ideas on missing postersā¦.I feel like the missing posters should look more uncanny with the idea that the āGuestsā kill. I like the old isaac missing posters because it gives off the uneasy feeling that the guest didnāt just ākillā basically, but it feels like the ādeathā was brutal.
Looking at the weird creepy missing poster, I have the uneasy feeling like the death was horrific and brutal to the point the body canāt even be found.
I feel like the missing posters should lean to the idea that those people DID not just get kidnapped. But you know they died horrifically. It would create such a creepy juxtaposition between the peaceful neighborhood, with the comfortable environment while these uncanny missing posters are just hanged up everywhere.
Like adding sudden uncanny realism to the characters on the missing posters for some, for others, it can be blacking out the eyes with a rectangle, or some can have a straight, creepy stare at the camera with oddly more ārealisticā eyes compared to what they look like ingame. All of the individual characterās missing posters looking different and unique from each other while looking āOddā while giving off the vibe that they died horribly would be such a cool idea

Nikita, are you planning on adding camera stabilization to future HN3 builds? I literally get motion sickness, and so do a couple of my friends, when I walk around this city. It's uncomfortable to move around when everything is constantly tilted and the angle is constantly changing.
When game developed itās happening in phases. You donāt do everything all at once. You go first with the highest priority for current phase. So, Issac is not in this phase.
Like furniture, for example. Most of the furniture is still in its blockout phase, not because it will stay this way, but because of priority.
Camera is stabilized. UE5ās characters are always stabilized

I'm talking about those moments when the entire world is literally at an angle. This is a real problem for me and a couple of my friends; playing the game is very, very uncomfortable. disorientation occurs. Some people may be sensitive to this and simply not enjoy the game.š . For example, some people can't perceive a black and white picture because everything blurs for them and disorientation occurs (I have this problem in secret neighbor). It would be nice if there was a setting to compensate for tilt and camera angles. It's also really bad for people who get motion sickness. My friends who get motion sickness literally have a hard time playing the game.
And while it's static, it might not look so "problematic," but when i start moving and moving the mouse... it seems like the mouse is simply not working correctly

Hmm, I wonder if you start at the main square when resetting the cycles, or is there a thing where you originally start at eh bus stop, whih changes to the mains square after finishing the first story ui. (For instance, maybe after reaching the hotel for the first time, the start point becomes the main square.)

World of HN3 is very hilly and uneven. Just like in real life, when you stand on a slope, you would still stay vertical and be able to perceive angled surface.

A few months ago after prototype 3 released. Nikita said that there was going to be some sort of hub thing by a bonfire. However it has been scrapped and whatever purpose it would serve is being done in a different way.
