Personally would have HN2 at the top it is still my favorite thing to come out this franchise, it may not have lived to the hype but it gave everything that I hoped out of an HN game. HN3 is really shaping up though and might be the best game yet, just needs a lot of polishing and work.

Yeah I see the vision for future prototypes but right now it just needs something, TBH, I wasn't the biggest fan of prototype 3 just cause the gameplay aspects of it just weren't that intriguing and just strange to solve. The idea of the game is great but my issue is lack of direction, I get the journey being the point of the game but I don’t know what to do at all and have zero guides to things it becomes a really boring hassle to play. There’s also a lot of bugs and issues that just make the game a drag. P3 is easily the best prototype and the game is really shaping up to be promising but the game just needs a lot of polishing. Then again these are only prototypes not even early alphas so of course things aren’t going to be great in a lot of aspects that’s what’s expected. What matter from these prototypes is to build the base of what the game will be and it’s done that very well.

Well everything that’s connected to the lore is canon, so the books do have somewhat an effect, it’s not clear how things fit together but there’s most likely connections. For example (While it’s a prototype so not canon) the Peterson house is mostly intact despite falling apart even though it was burned down, which may connect to how in RD the house was rebuilt.
