It's actually pretty important they take their time with the prototypes and make sure everything works properly.
Especially when they're releasing them to the public. But either way, creating a good, stable base for the rest of the game to be built on is really important, and this early on is the best time to do that.

The way I see it, each version of the story just sort of exists in separate bubbles.
Everything that happens in each bubble is canon to that bubble and doesn't necessarily cross over to other bubbles.
So for example, everything in the books is canon to the books, but not to the animated series, and vice versa.
Since Nikita didn't really have anything to do with HN2 in the end, I think he's just avoiding messing with it, because it's not his story.
So with HN3 I kinda see it as separate from the rest, but not as in "the rest suddenly isn't relevant", just that it's not exactly following the same story.

But they don't are active anymore, so the forest Dweller become the creature that terrify the twon and the guest was forgotten

This got me thinking about the Neighbor in HN3, while he will still be protective of his house, he might be on our side.
In the hide and seek trailer the Neighbor put on his gloves after losing half of his family which could be a metaphor for him losing his grip on reality or something similar to that.

in HN3 the Neighbor doesn't wear gloves anymore which could mean he's more grounded or at peace, while the Guest (Other Neighbor) is wearing gloves, at least seen in the placeholder model, which means he's sort of the main threat of the game in a way. (idk where i'm trying to go with this 💔 )

but like:

• exploration and sandbox gameplay at heart
• multiple ways to do things
• stealth still plays a major role
• plenty of AI interaction
• trial and error (you can fail to achieve your goal and might have to try different approaches etc., which was kinda how HN was supposed to be)

What Nikita has stated is that the idea of the game is that you replay the same few hours of gameplay and within those hours, various things happen so you can do things that can cause things to change such as moving an object so a character switches goal to an alternative goal which can procedurally end up causing a different outcome.

For instance. In Prototype 1. Jacob crashes his car, walks to the forest and gets taken by the forest dweller so you when you replay it, you can fix the sign to prevent him from crashing Which means he gets to live and potentially do something later on in the gameplay period.

Either way, I personally think a few empty buildings/houses in the map would be nice, houses that just serve a purpose of having tools & resources to help with you journey, like the player can setup their own small base and stash items there where the residents of Raven Brooks don't really pry an eye too, except for key characters like the Guest or Vandals.

I just like the look of a lot of buildings cluttered together as a town square, but not every building has someone living in them because that can be a bit overwhelming.
