I created a possible story about two historians who found a book in a library that contained information about an entity represented by crows. In the book there was a map that led to the meteorological center. After investigating, they found the hole where Mr. Peterson's brother fell. When they got there, they performed a ritual that didn't work because they needed one person to be in the middle of the ritual, and years later, that person was the neighbor's brother in the first episode of the second season. In your opinion, does it make sense?

I agree HN2 lacked that sandbox point but it’s still somewhat there, and even though all the characters act similarly they all still have their own personality and character, though yes story is quite stale when you get the actual plot (Stuff like The Cult and Missing Journalist), it’s quite interesting thinking about.

Though it’s definitely 100% preference and opinion.

For me HN2 just delivered what I wanted most from the game.

Yes and No. NPCs have certain parameters, including hunger. They try to decrease it.
Hunger affects movement speed. Hungrier the NPC, slower they walk/run.
As for the player. They doesn't have hunger, BUT if they eat food it gives temporary boost to speed.

it's semi-related to HN3, and i've been meaning to ask this for years

how does one make ropes?

me and a couple other people have been trying to figure out how the ropes/cables in Hello Neighbor 2 Alphas worked, because doing it from scratch is usually really difficult

I'd imagine HN3 would use a similar system if it does get added

(but I could be wrong)

I think it's mainly just physics issues that stop people from fully figuring it out

It was complex task. It was coded from scratch on C++. I rememeber general approach about tracing spheres as collisions, and drawing mesh of the rope for just visuals. But I couldn't give any real advice
