#baitcaster vs spinning reel?

What are you planning on fishing for with it
simple 5-20 pound bass
saltwater''
striped bass and trout
really whatever i can get
but im tryna use like soft plastic grubs, like the 3" paddletails and some hard plastics
i meant like saltwater striped bass and trout
possibly freshwater but im in florida so the aligators are a big factor in freshwater fishing
speckled trout then gotcha
yea
sea trout
i alrdy have a really nice spinning setup, and my dads got plenty more i can use, so i wanna just make a cheap baitcasting setup and see how i like it, i alrdy have a old crappy trash rod that if something happens to it, who cares?, not like if worth much, so i think ill just make a cheap baitcasting setup
like a 35$ reel
yeah I mean just as your first baitcaster you're gonna mess it up cuz there's a learning curve
and it's gonna get ruined by the saltwater
so I would just start with a cheap one and if you like it upgrade to one rated for saltwater
I would throw like 30lb braid on it with a 10 or 15lb fluoro leader
alr thx
btw
if kastking a good brand for baitcasters?
and what gear ratio is preferable?
I've never owned a Kastking but a lot of people have them so I think they're probably decent
but I will say don't expect a lot from that price point
I like a 7.3:1
alr thx
i got the 7.5:1 bps pro qualifier reel
pretty nice for 100$
I woulda picked the Shimano SLX over that but it should be a decent reel
