#what should i buy to get into ice fishing?

Ice picks in case you fall through, a rope with a loop on either end, something that floats like a float suit or life vest, sled, some sort of ice fishing sonar, bucket or chair to sit on, strainer to scoop out ice, tip ups if you want them, depth weight for setting tip up depth, and any lures you might want. That’s just some ideas to start with

In the ice? Any panfish really. They school up and readily hit jigs

A long bar with a pointed end used to hit the ice as you walk to help check for varying thickness. Another nice tip is I marked my strainer to measure ice thickness
