I believe this would make the visual novel more expressive, conveying emotions more effectively than words alone and adding depth to the characters personalities and add more immersion and variations that would make the experience more variable. Not every character needs these variations, but the main ones should have them, expressions like happiness, anger, sadness etc.

Many visual novel have such features, so i think this would be good and suit the world also. Considering the artstyle it will be hard and might divert recourse somewhere but it's just some thought.

You know sometimes what you can imagine will be better than what someone else can depict. Leaving nothing to imagination is laziness and will almost certainly result in disappointment.

If you can't infer someone else's state of mind from the dialogue (or the blunt descriptions) then perhaps you should stick with those visual novels where they hold your hand through everything.

Leaving everything to the reader's imagination could be dull, especialy for a game this long and full of wall of text, put the emphasis on "Visual" novel. Expressions can add a sense of character personality as you play. If a character’s emotions are always buried under walls of text, it certainly will get dull at some point. And just with the current potrait ratio with like a smirk, tenser jaw, confused would fit the game.

If you used that argument you should just read a book.

It's still is an idea, but i think it will enhance the experience overall
