Very interesting. It would show us a new government system and unlike Rizia the king isn't the most powerful man. And also with the power of chancellor and constitutional cabinet and also the assembly it would be a good experience. I'm very excited to see it in the game.

It doesn't have to be "stolen"(Using an art style to train AI art does not automatically grant copyright to the AI-generated images). You can always contact the artist(like I did, this is Kaisereich artsytle) Vincent i think his name was such a cool guy. They 99% of the time let you do it as long as you don't sell it. Also not everyone is a good digital artist, which leads AI art to be a good alternative. Also I shared Suzerain AI portraits here(which btw mods can remove any posts they deem "stolen") and on reddit and mods also allowed me to do whatever I wanted with it.

Interesting, how does this three way government structure work?

No worries, good luck with university.

But I have in mind that, as players, we take on the role of the Chancellor, where we must manage both the King and the Parliament. I haven’t seen the developers plan something like this, so I hope players will like this idea.

I guess the people are the Parliament or? In your pitch you speak of the king, the people and chancellor. How is the power distributed. Like how is this different from a constitutional parliament republic like Britain?

Well wait minute

#

In this type of government, the monarch holds the title of Commander-in-Chief, but their powers are limited. However, they play a role in foreign policy and, in essence, shape the country's diplomacy.

On the other hand, there is a People’s Parliament, composed of representatives from various parties. However, all these parties are collectively considered Royalist Parties, each with its own political orientation.

What is the role of the Parliament?

Its primary focus is on domestic affairs, significantly influencing internal legislation, particularly in matters of the economy and public welfare.

But the core aspect is yet to be discussed.

#

In the head of our power we have the chancellor.

#

The Chancellor, whom the player assumes the role of, is responsible for maintaining balance between the People’s Parliament and the Monarch. In essence, they are the only figure tasked with bridging domestic and foreign affairs, ensuring a stable and cohesive governance.

#

The Chancellor in this government may have the authority to enact minor laws independently, without requiring a vote in the People’s Parliament. This system is somewhat similar to Sordland, where laws passed through the legislature before reaching the president. However, in this model, the Chancellor directly selects and implements certain laws—similar to the monarch in Rizia.

(Of course, this applies only to minor laws, though this aspect is still a work in progress and may be subject to change.)

#

Differences Between This System and the UK

#
  1. Role of the Monarch

Nictaria system:
The Monarch holds the title of Commander-in-Chief, with limited powers, particularly in foreign policy and diplomacy. However, the Monarch has the ability to vote on laws in Parliament, and their vote carries more weight than others, allowing them to have a significant influence on the legislation process.

British System:
The Monarch is a ceremonial figure, with very limited powers, mainly symbolic. The Monarch does not participate in the legislative process or in voting. All decisions regarding governance are handled by the Prime Minister and Parliament. The Monarch's role is confined to ceremonial duties, such as the State Opening of Parliament.

#
  1. Role of Parliament

Nictaria system:
The People’s Parliament is composed of representatives from Royalist parties, all of whom share a loyalty to the monarchy. The Parliament's primary focus is on domestic affairs, particularly economic and public welfare policies. However, Parliament's most significant role is to influence the Chancellor, as they seek to use this position to indirectly control the Monarch. By influencing the Chancellor, the Parliament can ensure that the Monarch's power is constrained and that domestic policies align with their interests.

British System:
The British Parliament consists of two houses: the House of Commons (elected representatives) and the House of Lords (appointed or hereditary members). Parliament is responsible for creating laws, scrutinizing the government, and holding it accountable. Unlike the Triad system, British Parliament does not directly influence the Monarch's role, and the Monarch’s power is purely ceremonial. The government is led by the Prime Minister, who is typically the leader of the party with the most seats in the House of Commons.

#
  1. Role of the Chancellor

Nictaria system:
The Chancellor plays a central role in this system. They are tasked with maintaining the balance of power between the Monarch and the Parliament. The Chancellor holds the executive power to enact minor laws independently, without the need for a vote in Parliament. This is similar to the role of the both rizia and Sordland. The Chancellor also acts as a bridge between domestic and foreign policy, ensuring both the Monarch’s interests and parliamentary influence are considered.

British System:
In the British system, there is no direct equivalent to the Chancellor. The Prime Minister is the head of government and is responsible for running the country. The Prime Minister, however, is fully dependent on Parliamentary support, as they are elected through the House of Commons and must maintain the confidence of the majority to stay in power. The Prime Minister does not have the authority to pass laws independently and is more of an intermediary between Parliament and the Monarch, who holds no real executive power.

#
  1. The Power Dynamics

Nictaria system:
The balance of power in this system is dynamic and contested. Parliament’s main goal is to gain influence over the Chancellor, as doing so allows them to indirectly control the Monarch. The Monarch, although mostly focused on foreign policy, has the ability to vote on laws, and their vote carries more weight than other members of Parliament, which provides them with a degree of power in the legislative process. This creates a balance of power between Parliament, the Chancellor, and the Monarch. Parliament may attempt to shape laws and influence domestic policy by working with the Chancellor to limit the Monarch’s power.

British System:
In contrast, the British system is more straightforward. The Monarch has no power over legislative decisions, and the Prime Minister is entirely dependent on Parliament. The balance of power rests primarily within Parliament, with the Prime Minister acting as a leader chosen by the majority. The Monarch’s role is symbolic, and there is no ongoing struggle for influence between Parliament and the Monarch, as seen in the Triad system.

#
  1. The Influence of the Monarch’s Vote

Nictaria system:
The Monarch’s vote is a critical element in this system. When laws are passed through Parliament, the Monarch’s vote can influence the outcome, and their vote holds more weight than that of any other representative. This gives the Monarch a substantial (though limited) role in shaping domestic legislation. This system adds an element of political maneuvering to the legislative process, as Parliament must consider the Monarch’s interests when crafting laws.

#

British System:
The Monarch in Britain has no voting power in Parliament. All laws passed by Parliament are presented to the Monarch purely for formal approval (Royal Assent), which is a constitutional formality and does not involve any influence from the Monarch. Therefore, the Monarch plays no active role in shaping domestic policy or influencing legislative decisions.

Very interesting. Thank you for taking the time to give such an in-depth answer. It's seems like a system that can work well, but it also seems like a not fragile system but an easily exploited one, or a system where nothing gets done. To many cooks in the kitchen kind of thing. And that's not a bad thing on your part, that may be one of the challenges the player must face, this system in itself.

Also does the monarch have any say on the chancellor, and how is the chancellor appointed/dismissed?

Because this could be really interesting to play if you have to balance the interest of the monarch and that of Parliament and you're kinda in the middle, but if you don't listen enough to the monarch (or parliament), you might get kicked out any time. I don't know. This definitely has both storytelling and gameplay potential.

Where in the world would this country have been formed though specifically? And in Xina I see, how do you imagine that continent would work?

# finite moth Very interesting. Thank you for taking the time to give such an in-depth answer....

That's why I need to work on it very carefully to make it logical. What I said was just a summary so you could understand, and as you realized, I need to focus on this system to provide a good experience for the player. Also, I've created an interesting story for this scenario.

What I mean is the backstory of our character—what happened to them and the full story of this country.

Let's go back to the positioning of this country. Where exactly is it located?

I read a bit about the religion of Xina, and I found it interesting. The game mentions that the entire world has three major religions (although more could emerge in the future). According to this, and based on what we see on the game map, there's a continent that hasn't been introduced by the developers yet.

This fictional country could be located in Xina, or the fourth continent. Why?

The wiki of the game only mentions the northern part of Xina and says that this large continent was the second to be affected by colonialism (similar to the Middle East and Asia). On the other hand, we have RIKA, which the developers basically said is similar to the Americas and Africa.

#

The Zaranism religion in Xina really reminds me of Zoroastrianism and Judaism. It feels like a combination of the two, and this exactly aligns with the religion I have in mind for this country.

rain citrus
# rain citrus

That's why I have more freedom with the religion, but for now, I'm considering Zaranism and might adapt a branch of it for this country.

#

for the continents, I need to place this country based on every clue I find from the countries and definitions.

rain citrus
#

If you have any criticism or suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them. After all, it would really help me a lot with this process.

What is Sayanism?

rain citrus
# somber sundial What is Sayanism?

Sayanism is a foreign religion for the people of Nictaria. After a defeat that the people of Nictaria suffered from a foreign power in the past, this religion became the new faith of the people. However, they did not completely abandon their previous beliefs.

Over the years, Sayanism gained more popularity, eventually leading to a coup and revolution against the monarchy, resulting in its downfall.

#

So what exactly is this religion? I’m trying to create a combination of Eastern and Western Asia religions, and on the other hand, I’m checking the religions that the developers are going to release.

There is exactly the same problem for nictaria, which has many resources, but has become a victim of colonialism and greed.

So you have to fend of superpowers left and right like vultures?

rain citrus
# finite moth So you have to fend of superpowers left and right like vultures?

Well, in fact, this is just a small part of the story because, after all, if you're creating a story, you shouldn't, so to speak, restrict the player to seeing things from only one perspective and following a single storyline.

Superpowers can be troublesome, but they can also be beneficial. On the other hand, we have Rumburg, which can make things more interesting, considering that the country has experienced a second revolution and a civil war to restore the monarchy.

rain citrus
#

On the other hand, we have to face the survival of extreme Sayanism and religions, and the country has many different ethnic groups that lived together for years, so there are also ethnic problems.

rain citrus
# finite moth So you have to fend of superpowers left and right like vultures?

In general, we can make the story interesting and besides all this and the state of the country, I personally really like the story behind the main character and I am working on his story. And I am also aware of this fact that in order to create this country, I don't need to say that it has too many problems, because this gives me a lack of creativity and makes me feel numb, so the problems must be reasonable.
