Hey folks, I’d really appreciate a sanity check from people who know crypto/MPC.

I have a scenario in an MPC library where, for the same key/session, I can overwrite the commitments, while the nonce-bearing setup state stays persisted. After that, I can end up with two proofs/signatures that reuse the same nonce but have different challenges — which leads to private key recovery (classic nonce reuse).

The vendor’s response is basically: “This is the integrator/persistence layer’s responsibility — just run the full test suite.”
But the problem is: the official test suite still passes, and this scenario is still possible.

My question:
Would you consider this a design flaw / insecure-by-default issue (the library should prevent overwrites or bind state to a round/session ID),
or is it reasonable to say it’s purely integrator responsibility even if the failure mode is key compromise?

Any thoughts or references are welcome 🙏
