First off: asked how? Was this a casual “hey if she’s still asleep maybe wake her” or an actual instruction with expectations attached? Because those are two very different things, and you don’t get to retroactively upgrade a suggestion into a responsibility.

Second: what does “not let her sleep” even mean in practice? Wake her once? Multiple times? Drag her out of bed? Sit there monitoring her like a sleep parole officer? If someone tries to wake an adult and that adult chooses to keep sleeping, that’s… kind of the end of it.

Also, why is this being treated like a hard rule instead of a preference? Sleeping past 2 isn’t some moral failure. People sleep late for a million reasons — exhaustion, bad schedules, mental health, literally just being human.

And let’s be clear: you’re not her parent, her guardian, or the designated Alarm Clock of Destiny. Being asked to “make sure” another grown person does something only works if everyone agrees on what that actually means. Otherwise it’s just outsourcing responsibility and hoping for the best.
