I notcied something interesting, or maybe my lack of knowledge makes it more interesting. I used the HTB VPN but isntead of using openvpn in terminal to set it up I used the VPN setting in parrot network manager and altho it doesn't allow me to say ping google.com I was able to reach out to parrot servers to download seclists? "Fetched 431 MB in 2min 14s (3,209 kB/s)" I thought the VPN was not supposed to allow outgoing internet to be reachable?

You need to go to IPv4 Settings -> Routes -> and check Use only for resources on this network
Otherwise it tries to route all traffic through the VPN network, which does not have internet connectivity

Couldn't tell you. The lab network doesn't have internet connectivity, and if you use the network manager on any OS, Ubuntu Kali etc, it will do this by default

hmm yeah i am not sure I did it in virtual box and the NAT wired connection was disabled only the HTB LAB VPN was set and it still managed to download the seclists although very slowly

Got it working, had to disable ipv6 now HTB VPN in Networkmanager works along with Internet using Wired Connection. Thanks again for the tip @untold fiber

I know I can connect to directly with the VPN in the exegol container, but I don't want to use the "gui console" windows, because it does not work well with the old XQuartz software. Therefore, I have been connecting to the VPN on my host OS, because the tun0/VPN connection gets passed through to the exegol container. So I can use my host applications (i.e firefox, burpsuite, or whatever). Is this something you do?

I've setup exegol in both a VM and also just my host machine. I like it better on my Windows host. I only installed exegol over the weekend. Didn't run into any issues or anything. I mainly use a kali VM.

You and Joe Shmoe both can both be on US-VIP-1 as an example, you get box x.x.x.1 they get x.x.x.2 and should never interact
