So cool will done . Did you made it using WLED ? How did you achieve to display a picture . I'm working with Hub75 with wled image display . it's too complicated . But yours it's wonderful 👍🏻😉

Do you have any advice

tropic crag

#

For me it saves I used the WF2 Huidu board

#

You can find these on AliExpress for like $3

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

It’s in the guide

#

You have to upload it with USB A to USB A or USB A to C vice versa which worked for me

#

It does say it’s limited but the WF2 board does 320x64 no problem

#

It says max is 120x64 but this board can handle the bigger load no problem

latent ivy
latent ivy
tropic crag
#

Yeah I have gifs playing no problem

latent ivy
#

So do you use WLED effect on that cube ?

tropic crag
latent ivy
#

Yeah I've checked that board its good. But for now I only have ESP s3 . 16MB flash + 8MB PSRAM

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

No that can be used with wled with the 3 pins buts complicated

#

MatrixPortal M4 is pretty good too

#

What are these panels?

latent ivy
lament trail
#

Thanks

#

Have you figured out yourself how to make these work with wled? Specifically connect to some board, or did you use some guide?

#

Also are these just snapped together panels or use some structure inside to hold them together?

latent ivy
#

Me?

#

Or @tropic crag

lament trail
#

Oh sorry, messed up people

#

Ill figure out how toonnect them

tropic crag
#

ESP 32 device will work

latent ivy
#

I did made it work with WLED but @tropic crag did not used WLED

lament trail
#

Thanks

#

but i see they are preety thuck so how did you managed to merge them almost seamlessly?

tropic crag
#

Or you can buy the Huidu WF2 hub75 controller and flash wled firmware

lament trail
#

on the edges?

tropic crag
#

They’re angled panels 45 degrees

#

Just hot glued them together

lament trail
#

Talking bout the edges

tropic crag
#

Yeah they’re 45 degree panels

lament trail
#

Ok thank you soo much

latent ivy
#

@tropic crag I bought WF1 yesterday what is the best PC application for it

lament trail
#

And you have used 6 of the panels?

tropic crag
latent ivy
#

Or can I install another firmware

tropic crag
#

Yes I used 6 panels I mapped it out to 386x64 and each 64x64 is an image

#

You can use that software it’s made for it

lament trail
#

Ok, esp32, six of these panels

tropic crag
#

Get Huidu wf2

#

Supports it better

lament trail
#

so im wondering, how do you acces inside of the cube if its glued?

tropic crag
#

I don’t have one on the bottom just cardboard

#

Spare parts panel if anything

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

Here is how it’s mapped out

#

You can use gifs and stuff

lament trail
#

Ok how many power for it?

#

And can i just use it with usb c?

#

Yeah sry i can, usb c is something like 210w

#

or even 300max as port alone

tropic crag
lament trail
#

Im wondering if i could use magnets instead of gluing

latent ivy
# tropic crag

Dude the music matching the video perfectly that's awesome 😂✨

lament trail
#

or design some hatches and 3d peint them

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

Yeah you can

#

But I don’t have a 3d printer rip so I just glued it lol

#

Hot glue isn’t bad I had the panels aligned wrong at first some were upside down make sure to see the arrows on the back of them

#

The top one doesn’t matter which way it’s facing really

lament trail
#

Im getting into deep water now, only did some 32x8 matrix and like 3 meters of 2 section leds

latent ivy
#

I guess WF.x. board is not for addressable RGB

#

You need HUB75

lament trail
#

Would it be possible to use both wled and that led art for gifs?

tropic crag
#

I mean you can get crazy and buy a receiving card and sending card then you can share your pcs screen on it

lament trail
#

Would esp32 work with that app?

tropic crag
#

Or put it into like resolume VJ software and go from there but you have to UV map the cube correctly

lament trail
#

Cuz i would use both, 1 for gifs and alone lighting and wled for ayncing it with pc leds

tropic crag
#

Like novastar receiver and sending card

latent ivy
lament trail
#

i use signalrgb for ayncing all leds togwther, with matrix and leds included

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

this is for more large scale

#

But it works too so

lament trail
#

Does wled support some types of gifs displaying?

tropic crag
#

Moon modules might with wled

latent ivy
latent ivy
tropic crag
#

Ah okay and moon modules is also limited to 128 x 64 pixels

#

Can’t do a 386x64 array

lament trail
tropic crag
#

Huidu LED Art app on phone it’s easier to use and you can just send programs and make your own very simple

#

1-4 are chained together then 5 // 6 if you add it

#

1-4 are sides 5-6 are top // bottom

latent ivy
lament trail
lament trail
#

Beacaus it doesnt look like 32

latent ivy
latent ivy
lament trail
#

So now i stand between two options

#

1, gifs and standalone gretness in one cube
2, whole setup sync

latent ivy
#

If you want WLED with GIF check this previous chat but keep in mind it only worked with ESP32 S3 #861288538863960095 message

lament trail
#

Dont work for me (link) apparently no accea

#

wait

latent ivy
#

You need to join it's WLED Moon module

lament trail
#

So to sum up, wf2 to work with this mobile huidu app, or esp32(sometype) to work with wled, no gifs supported

latent ivy
lament trail
latent ivy
#

Wled specifically made for ESPs not wf

lament trail
#

Ok understood

tropic crag
#

Maybe if you figure out how to send wled data and everything through artnet you can use esp32 to send artnet data to the hub75 displays

lament trail
#

Yeah, But in my imagination it could work with both, to use gifa nad to sync it automayically with pc

#

i think ill just go with wf and that app only

#

thank You so much for help!

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

Artnet can get a little confusing never really played with it

tropic crag
#

But yes wf2 is easier I want to make it reactive to sound

tropic crag
#

I have to decompile the wf2 firmware and probably write and code in a function for it. Then solder a microphone to the few GPIO pins on the wf2 board

tropic crag
#

I’m trying to get the cube to work with 2 portable batteries for a phone wired in parallel because 1 power bank doesn’t have enough amps to run 5 panels. I mean I can get it to run with one power bank but it’s not really ideal

#

Right now it’s just ran through a power supply

latent ivy
latent ivy
#

Just lower the brightness down

tropic crag
#

Yeah even with lower brightness it still kinda bugs out sometimes not enough amps to send data and some of the panels start flickering and stuff

#

Power supply is most stable right now

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

this this the bottom I don’t have a panel incase I need to fix something

tropic crag
#

And also hide a tiny bottle of alcohol 🤣

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

Not really how would you do that? Just get 2 power banks

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

The gap between the panel and wireless charger will not work

#

It would have to be magnetic like iPhone

#

Or anything wireless because it magnetic and even 2cm spacing won’t cut it

#

You’d have to open it up and charge the packs manually then yea

latent ivy
tropic crag
#

Yeah power 3 panels with 1 power bank

#

And the other 3 with the other

#

Or 3:2 ratio too if you use 5 like I do

#

Would be the best option since the panels run off 5v no problem just wire a usb C or type A connector for 3 panels

latent ivy
#

Yes exactly . 👍🏻✨
