StandOff 2 is probably one of my favorite First-person shooter games. In my 5 years of playing this game, I still like it to this day. I have my personal reasons as to why I liked this game in the first place. First, I like its nature of easy to play - hard to master, and that's part of the fun of it. Second, the skins are well-made and are artistic and even some of them grew in me. Third, the maps are great, with their varieties and such; The best one by far for me is the Sandstone map, as it's easily one of the most recognizable maps in the game. Playing as a CT in Sandstone is as fun as playing as a T. The guns are well thought-out and are satisfying to use. And lastly, although I often find myself conflicted with the current Matchmaking system due to the abundance of hackers/grievers, and sometimes it even pulls me up in higher ranked matches, I like the ranked matches as they add more spice to the experience and rewards you for performing at your best. Overall, I give this game an 8/10.

The ranked system is perhaps one of the most frustrating parts of the game. Matchmaking is a mess—plagued by hackers, griefers, and frequent matchups against players way above your actual skill level. It often feels like you’re being punished rather than rewarded for trying to improve or play seriously.

Overall, while StandOff 2 had potential, it struggles under the weight of poor matchmaking, repetitive content, and a lack of meaningful updates. I'd give it a 5/10.

It’s not challenging in a fun way—it’s just infuriating.

The skins, which the devs clearly treat like prized possessions, are mostly overpriced, recycled garbage. A few might look decent, but most are just copy-paste designs meant to milk money out of players. And the maps? Sure, there are a few, but they get old fast. Sandstone is supposed to be iconic, but after your 500th match on it, it feels more like a chore than anything else. There’s barely any variety, and it’s hard to stay engaged.

Gunplay, which should be the core of any FPS, is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes your shots hit, sometimes they don’t—no explanation, no logic. It makes every match feel like a gamble rather than a test of skill.

And then there’s the ranked system: an absolute joke. Hackers and griefers run rampant, and the matchmaking is downright broken. You'll find yourself thrown into games against players way above your rank while your teammates are either AFK, trolling, or clearly not on the same level. It kills any sense of progression or competitive integrity.

The worst part? The developers seem more focused on pumping out flashy skins and ignoring the real issues. StandOff 2 is a textbook case of wasted potential. Right now, it’s barely worth playing. 3/10.
