My advice for Halo Reach and like any legendary campaign is to take your time and see if you can skip some encounters

Exodus after getting the jetpack makes encounter skipping fairly easy

Grabbing the Fuel Rod Cannons before the entering the towers helipad clear section will give you an edge against the Brute Chieftain, holding onto the Rocket Launcher also could help but that has less readily available ammo and you'll need explosive weapons for the two shade turrets

You can also skip both chieftains at the end of the mission with some jetpack manoeuvring into the room where you press the button that ends the mission
