I hope the book has the last moments of those Spartans
Perhaps even some Jega or Hyperius and Tovarus
look up how irl reptiles reproduce if you wanna know the answer
i mean i also havent gone through highschool yet
15
biology isnt my go to class, ill get around to it eventually tho
15 is first or second year of high school, and some biology is taught in 8th grade
especially horvath and kovan, those are my favorite ones
hopefully they are still alive though
elementary and highschool
if that would be the case all sangheili would be female, which is false
if we would apply your logic to irl reptiles on earth, wwe would consider all reptiles female, which is false
k-8 then 9-12
I want to see their last stands too
just give them all a disease they're not immune to and the entire race is screwed beyond belief

There’s probably not many diseases that humans have encountered than can effectively infect sangheili
hows that make total sense tho? if they reproduce asexually, then in the end they dont have a gender and as such u cant call them females or males, cause in a way their both genders
i am not in high school and i know those basics already
what basics?
i still dont see ur point if u have one
i also want to know the fates of other spartans, like oshiro and dimka, who just disappeared in the logs and the battle for the reverie
ur saying elites dont reproduce asexually, i havent seen any proof or anything that would say ur right
This book could really show how badass those Spartans were
Elites mate
Wait, you actually think Elites reproduce asexually?
That implies sexual reproduction
oh no not this topic again
insert i got to get out of here spongebob meme
he seams to believe that
despite them being confiremd to be oviparous
ye'd better read this
honestly i dont know, i dont know which side i believe
all i know is i seem to have a habit of evening out both sides of an argument or trying to
🤨
Anyway, it is literally said in the books that they don't reproduce asexually.
even the halopedia states that they are laying eggs
havent read the books
so when they reproduce asexually they still cant lay eggs?
...
Jesus christ
you can't make asexual eggs
that's not possible
ill get to that once i replay all campaigns and learn whatever lore i can
read the books man
you never see eggs in the campaign
Still on this topic huh
trust me i didnt bring it up this time lmao
yeah,i just seen some eggs laying around on high charity, dunno who they belong to but i made a tasty omlette
Frickin' amazing, huh
was fordon replying to an old message
yes
since sangheili aren't fishes their oviparity works the same way as in birds and most reptiles
idk what oviparity is
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oviparity
basically oviparity means they are laying eggs instead of giving birth
since they aren't fish, they don't jump into the water to spread their stuff onto some small beads like fish do
they still have to...y'know...reproduce to have the eggs fertilised
i hope i explained it properly
- as we said,in the books it was confirmed that they lay eggs
A-again?! How?
dunno
Even by troll logic this is...sheesh
wait it's still the same topic?
yesh

One thing I kinda noticed when playing multiplayer
Spartans were also genetically modified to survive long falls, right?
I mean, not specifically for surviving large falls.
Primarily just enhanced strength and endurance and just making them harder to kill in general.
I think they just removed fall dmg in infinite, when i'm playing campaign at least you don't take fall dmg
Fair
I like them raw
Is Halo Infinite canon?
yes
Didn't like it?
eh
the game overall was fine
just alot of annoying lore stuff
and that cliffhanger
also wtf is the created
ik what they are in lore but in game wtf is the created
I haven't finished the campaign yet, so I wouldn't know.
Darn.
Oh well.
Can't win 'em all.
But I think Infinite is a big step in the right direction for 343 regarding Halo's gameplay and story.
4 was a fumble, and 5 was an all around mess.
But i've liked everything Infinite has brought to the table so far.
Speaking of, there's something i'm a little confused about.
4 was not a fumble in the story department
Has Master Chief's armor changed with each game? He ends every game either floating endlessly in space or in hypersleep. Unless someone opens up his sleeping coffin during the time between games, his armor shouldn't have changed.
Like, I know its design has changed with each game. But I remember someone saying he wears different model armor with each game.
Like, his armor changing between 5 and Infinite makes sense. He was obviously serving during that time.
But the others, i'm not so sure about.
His armor has only changed between games 3 times
when the easiest way to describe it is "the game changed hands and the art direction changed."
as for Halo 1, and 2 his armor did actually get upgraded
halo infinite they realized that 4 and 5's armor weren't really all that popular so they went back to the drawing board for armor design.
It's like, his armor's UI changes with each game, you know? And that would only be possible through a software update at the least. But we hardly see him take the time or have the opportunity to receive said software update.
Maybe it's an automatic update
maybe
There is significant off screen time between each game where such updates could easily occur
I know Cortana can patch his armor into networks, but only for like comms and such.
there's probably hud updates the UNSC R&D department rolls out
I mean it's totally possible Samsung still exists. Like seriously that could be a thing
They've also mentioned HUD changes depending on context. Given that one player's playthrough isn't really "canon" in a settled way you can chalk some of it up to "oh Chief switched to a different HUD for this engagement" or whatever.
(Also, I don
't really think the HUD itself is canon either. As in, I don't think Master Chief walks up to an assault rifle and the HUD tells him "Hold X to pick up AR" so you've got to assume some license here rather than being super literal.
well yeah
I suppose if Queen's music is still being archived as far as Halo Reach, anything's possible.
chief singing dont stop me now
That would be a sight to see.
but he's terrible at singing
Like, canonically?
then weapon or whatever her name is i still haven't played that halo themed far cry campaign is sitting there with noise cancelling headphones on
and no not canonically
I was about to say...
It's a silly thing, realizing that Master Chief has canonically tried to sing.
But realized he was bad at it.
Such a weird detail about him to have, you know?
no he wouldnt realize he's bad at it he'd think he's great
I'd still love to see him try.
it'd be like that level in duke nukem where he sings born to be wild
That would be epic.
Did you hear about the Halo series on Paramount+ having female leads and Master Chief being a supporting character?
I uh
I heard about the show and said "wow that sounds terrible hard pass."
if i wanted to watch a halo movie i'd just watch aliens
Or Halo Legends. That's a good one.
It doesn't look good, if what i've heard is true.
oh i forgot you cant swear on this server
Master Chief is relegated to being a supporting character, with the real main character being someone else. Oh, and Master Chief being 'easily defeated' by the villain of the show. Who is also a female lead.
yeah no its not gonna be good
I was under the impression that no human could ever hope to defeat Master Chief in combat.
ever play halo 5?
Even then, he didn't lose.
shouldn't of been close either
True.
But that's what you get for trying to give MC a rival in the first place.
Yeah but Arbiter is fren now. So he wouldn't have gone after MC without a good reason.
but even then they're more like pals
Yup.
atriox as a rival's a good idea
it could work but the way they did it with locke was terrible
more fleshed out
and also that too
and maybe have the rest of osiris and blue team do something then just stand there
oh if they didnt also shove a bunch of prior bois in too
But yeah, the fact that the main female villain of the show is able to 'easily defeat' MC, tells me that the creators have no idea what MC is capable of and who he's supposed to be.
almost as if he's a Spartan II
and yknow
Spartan II's are > any other generation
but also < astartes
Yeah. The newer generations of Spartans are much weaker than Spartan II's.
but more numerous
I guess that's how they make up for it.
yeah
I think the survival rate of Spartan II's is pretty low.
That's why there was never that many of them.
Most of them died during training, battle, or due to the experimental enhancements.
they were workin out the kinks
The augmentations killed or crippled half of them, yes.
spartan III's were also pretty low
They werent ready. Those who died.
It was mostly because the augmentations were experimental and high-risk though, not because of how much “better” they were than successive generations.
Spartan-IV augmentations are mostly less effective because they’re applied after the body has stopped developing significantly, whereas Spartan-II and -III could work in tandem with the onset of puberty.
Ah, that makes sense.
yeah that's why
100% of spartan 3s survived augmentations btw
But weren't II's the only ones who didn't need all the special equipment
I thought we just meant they had low survivability in combat
not the augmentations i misread
So the augmentations not only enhance, but also evolve alongside the Spartan as they age and mature?
IIs got mjolnir, that’s the most special equipment ever
didn't most III's have spi
because II's were really powerful, then III's were more meant for suicide missions
Yes but that was because of cost
then IV's are just kinda marines in power armor essentially? if i remember correctly
IIIs in mjolnir would be on par with IIs in mjolnir
Like thruster or hovering while ads
yeah
No
That’s just a misconception propagated by people who don’t like the IVs
It’s more that the S-II and S-III augmentations were sharply enhanced because they worked with the way puberty already causes a significant growth spurt and development. The body is generally a lot more malleable compared to a full grown adult, who’s pretty static developmentally.
Ah, I see.
It's all based on a bad article with no sources cited, and seems entirely designed to rile up certain people. It's dumb and no one should be referring to it.
neat
I hope that's the case.
I'm sure some of it is technically true "from a certain point of view", but a lot of it sounds like someone who didn't know what they were looking at telling someone else secondhand.
If I’m thinking of the right article it read like some insane borderline parody to me.
Like, the whole detail of the girl "defeating" Master Chief. Maybe he gets yeeted by some of the Lekgolo following her around.
Ah so Spartan IV's are less biologically potent than II's but their armor makes up for it
There were a ton of people who somehow misunderstood that she doesn't have magical tentacle powers.
They could be thinking that the ring itself is a living entity but it's not. Is it?
So those things are living beings were just following her?
I suppose that makes sense.
They're a type of Lekgolo gestalt.
I’d say wait and watch the show rather than go down the rabbit hole of speculation
I presume similar to the ones we see in Halo: Nightfall?
But yeah, it's all stuff from a trailer. It's lacking context.
So does she have the power to control them, I wonder? Or are they sentient and following her of their own free will?
To a degree, but not to the extent that the community often suggests
Almost certainly sentient, since that's how the worms have always been portrayed.
Ah. Interesting.
If they are actually listening to her? Who knows.
Individual Lekgolo worms are not sentient but when they form compound forms, they gain self awareness
Seems like they're setting the character up to be a sort of Locutus of Borg/mouthpiece for the Covenant to humanity.
So maybe she actually orders around some Covenant in it. Maybe others take the orders but really resent being ordered around by a human. Who knows! We have to see the actual thing.
I suppose it's more buyable that MC would lose against someone who's got an army of alien worms backing her. Still, MC has singlehandedly fought bigger armies full of more capable beings and come out on top easily.
I mean the whole "who would win" thing starts turning into fan bull pretty quick.
He’s also been beaten by singular individuals before
Whether he wins or loses is plot dependent
You could easily argue based on whatever scene from the book or game that Chief should have dusted Atriox. But he loses decisively in the opening of Infinite.
It's kind of Locke versus Chief all over again, complete with "But Spartan-IVs are weaker than IIs!" stuff.
It was a cool opener though
Like to some fans everything is a power level discussion where one character is a 9 and the other is a 10 and thus the ten should always win.
I don't think Halo works like that.
Definitely doesn't, the reality of the differences in mediums and different stories being told means you're never going to see that consistency.
Also, it's not like you can't take the same two individuals and pit them in a series of fights and get different results each match.
But, again. Atriox was a massive hulk of a beast. And we're talking about a 150lb woman who's only fleeting chance at victory is an army of worms.
This is why you shouldn’t take articles like that at face value
I doubt she's 150 😛
Okay, 180 if i'm being generous.
Lol she's 5'4", she's most likely well south.
Indeed, which is why people taking the story at face value is bizarre.
Critical thinking is at an all time low, lol
I totally get being a bit suspect on the decisions they've made with the series, and Makee specifically. But doesn't mean you get to go crazy at one unreliable source and make broad declarative statements. Or, I mean, you can, but you're wasting a lot of time and effort getting mad about things that exist only in your head.
I suppose.
The show's gonna' be out in less than two months, why bother getting amped up over rumors?
I suppose it's just the trend of making shows and movies more PC for the 'woke' people. And in doing so, the sacrifice actual decent story telling and narratives because they fill that cut space with 'Let's focus on the strong, independent woman, or the LGBTQ people'.
I know. And I don't have a problem with that. But when you make that the core message of the entire movie/show in place of a compelling story, it gets annoying. At least, to me.
why wouldn't it be
He was just spamming, not actually seeking discussion
Sorry chat thought it was funny at the time
I meannn
the girl is a precursor
it's so obvious

The halo tv show is something that would probably decline my mental health because it ain’t cannon
Cortana chose 6 as her original Spartan before Chief, correct?
Didn't she choose to be with the Chief from the get go, but opted to have Noble 6 as her escort to the Pillar of Autumn? At least that's how I understand it.
Idk, I guess i gotta replay Reach hahaha
who is oscar-128 from the audio logs? Ringfall log 1 (not talking about spartan II Oscar 129)
False
The Cortana seen in reach is a fragment of the whole Cortana, left behind to assist Halsey in studying the forerunner artifact under SWORD base. The rest of Cortana was with a Chief during the Fall of reach
Is it clear what Chief was doing during the Fall of Reach?
Because I still don't know, honestly.
Like, was he fighting? If so, where? What was more important than Reach at the time? Or was he just on standby?
For the most part he was on a then-uncontested part of the planet getting prepped for Operation RED FLAG, relative to the events of Halo Reach.
The Covenant combined fleet that would be the final nail in Reach’s coffin arrived just as the Pillar of Autumn was preparing to depart for the operation.
Collecting what I know:
He was there for Operation Red Flag, which was an operation to try and capture Prophet, and use them as a hostage to negotiate peace.
Of course, everything went to hell, and the Chief was around in a couple of places (mostly uncontested) - however when the planet was (determined) lost, he returned to the Pillar of Autumn (where he can be seen in Reach, in a certain cutscene)
Ah, I see.
John’s only major involvement with the Fall of Reach was going to Gamma Station to wipe the UNSC Circumference’s nav data to comply with the Cole Protocol, after the Autumn turned around to do what it could to fend off the Covenant before they had to flee.
I knew they had their reasons to keep Chief out of the main fight for Reach, but even so, Reach was a decently big loss for humanity. And they knew it would be, so it's weird that they didn't send their best soldier out into the main field.
Chief not being involved for much of the Fall of Reach wasn’t especially intentional on the UNSC’s end
The Covenant invasion as originally written was pretty much just a sudden, rapid assault that they barely had time to react to.
117, 058, and 005 went to Gamma Station to clear the UNSC Circumference’s nav data in compliance with the Cole Protocol while the other assembled Spartan-IIs went planetside to defend the ODP network’s generators as long as they could.
By the time the Gamma Station objective had been completed it was pretty much over for Reach and getting the hell out was their best option.
I see.
So they never really intended for Chief not to fight. It's just that the Covenant arrived on Reach too quickly, and by the time he was available, Reach was beyond saving.
More that Reach in general wasn’t prepared for a fight in the first place.
Did they not expect the Covenant to target it or something?
i think they did
The Covenant didn’t really know much about how humanity was distributed through space. It’s a pretty big part of why the war had gone on for so long. They only found Reach after managing to hide a tracking probe on the UNSC Iroquois after Sigma Octanus IV.
I think the UNSC figured it would probably be an inevitability, just not so soon.
They never had any indication that the Covenant even knew the planet existed, let alone where it was or when they’d attack.
didn't the covenant accidently find most of the human colonies
because they were looking for forerunner stuff
I would imagine that is the case but I don’t recall if there is anything official that would confirm it
Well space is pretty big. I can imagine a couple scenarios where battles just happened because each side just stumbled on each other by accident
that is how the covenant found Earth
But don't both the UNSC and The Covenant have ways to track or detect certain energy signatures that their ships give off? It is odd to think that the people of Reach didn't detect any Covenant ships approaching the planet ahead of time.
I guess so. But you'd think that we would've figured out a way to, for lack of a better term, bypass their bypass.
Of course, figuring out why the ships could hide from the UNSC's scans would require getting ahold of a ship that could bypass the radar relatively intact so they could tinker with it.
The Covenant invasion fleet shown in Halo Reach is… a bit strange. There’s not much explanation given for how the Covenant managed to slip a 30-kilometer long spaceship onto the planet’s surface to land troops on the UNSC’s greatest military stronghold and it’s still one of my biggest gripes with Reach’s campaign.
The super carrier was hidden by the pylons on the surface
The covenant must have set up the pylons first then the ship entered atmosphere
They likely used smaller ships to get troops on the ground to erect the pylons in the first place
Huh. Well, there you go.
I just take issue with the whole thing because it feels like it makes the UNSC seem bafflingly incompetent. Especially compared to how The Fall of Reach shows they can make out incoming Covenant fleets and reasonably guess their compositions from slipspace gravitational anomalies with RSOs.
It’s possible the ships exited slipspace outside the range of the unsc’s sensors
it is like most alien movies, the aliens are way more superior and can destroy the humans, then one human ends up destroying all the aliens
On the subject of Reach, does Noble 6 have any canonical traits? Quirks, preferences, gender, etc? The only thing I know that's canon about them is that, according to Carter, they like to act on their own and that they have a tendency to silently stare at people for uncomfortable amounts of time.
I mean, my problem in general is that Reach was the UNSC’s greatest military stronghold besides Earth. If they’re so awful at protecting a planet this important that a Covenant invasion fleet can land an entire army undetected, humanity should’ve lost the war within a decade.
Even if the initial insertion craft approached in normal space with enough material to construct a series of stealth pylons, surely humanity’s “fortress among the stars” should have picked up some kind of anomaly before it gets out of hand.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I dunno, man, all we can do is use the available info to draw conclusions
We already know Bungie wasn’t concerned with making the game fit into the established lore
I mean, Reach seemed like a well stocked but cocky planet. The Noble team got an alert and assumed it was unimportant, and those are the most vigilant soldiers in the army. Reminds me of Pearl Harbor.
B312 is canonically male. At some point before the events of Reach he put in a request for the Recon-class helmet.
Has some edgy lone-wolf “personal hitman” backstory to him.
He was a hitman before he was part of Noble team?
His official backstory says one of his superiors used him as a personal hitman
Yeah. I think he directly answered to Ackerson?
Huh.
I also know that, due to his last stand on Reach, he's classified as a 'hyper-lethal' Spartan. And that the only other Spartan to attain that title, at least that I know of, was Master Chief.
Nope
No?
That's how they found Humanity in the first place. They stumbled upon us.
He didn't get classified that due to his last stand. The Reach marketing had him that even before the game events. And in any case, 343 has luckily expanded the term "hyper-lethal" to refer to all Spartans, since it being used only for those two would make absolutely no sense. (Though they should have gotten rid of the term entirely.)
Tbf, the original term was calling 6 a “hyper lethal vector” rather than a soldier
It was made in the first place so that fans would go "Wow, he's as good as the Chief? Now I wanna play as him!!"
So 343 did get rid of the vector part
I don't think Halsey used "Vector" in her commercial, either, as far as I know.
Wasn’t it in her journal
Don't think so
It’s kinda funny looking back at the term that Bungie thought they needed to come up with a label that basically says “100% Certified Genuine Cool Guy” …On top of the existing Spartan name.
It's funny and sad.
Could have sworn I read vector somewhere
(NOTE: This is my take)
Humanity had three weapons that won them the war, The Spartans, Tactics, and Resistance.
The Spartans are the finest soldiers humanity has ever had (if we discount them due to augmentation, then that title belongs to the ODSTs), and they bought time on many colonies, completed important missions (Noble Team on Reach, for example), and they won crucial encounters (Master Chief in CE, for example).
Tactics were something Humanity dominated the Covenant in. Of course, Humans have fought on the ground for millennia, and that shaped that. Human victories were almost exclusively on the ground. Even at that, tactics helped in space, look at Commander Keyes, for example.
And resistance is simple: the human endurance, spirit of resistance and no surrender, etc. Probably how we managed to survive.
That's my views anyway.
I imagine the actual page is archived, but I don't feel like finding it lol
I knew I saw it
Humanity mostly only “won” because A) space is big and B) the Covenant collapsed from the inside.
Ground conflicts were more even in the sense that they weren’t as nightmarishly lopsided in favor of the Covenant as space battles.
Little bit surprised that word gets flagged
The Covenant's internal collapse was due to Truth, yes, however the assassination of Regret almost certainly had an impact. Mercy wasn't doing much about it.
Truth was already planning on killing Regret
Either way humanity would’ve lost the whole ordeal if Truth hadn’t ousted the Sangheili, leading to internal conflict and even a Sangheili-human alliance.
Indeedy
Indeed.
space magic
I would contest that, since like, right after the Great Schism took place humanity literally obliterated countless Sangheili ships. I don't remember what book talks about it though.
Some grand fleet it was.
I think they used a Nova bomb they snuck onto a ship.
It was just a few hundred
Still, if the great schism hadn't happened that number could have been much larger.
Especially say if that ship was docked on High Charity.
Now we're just getting into hypotheticals
I'm just saying
If they got lucky, sure, but the Hierarchs had effectively banished ‘Wattinree to the Covenant’s outer reaches so it probably wouldn’t have done much in the grand scheme of things.
weird nobody ever talks about sublime transcendence being one of the biggest modern halo ships when it measures at 32 km long

People have
The Spirit of Fire literally blew up a planet with a Forerunner fleet that was to be utilized by the Covenant to end the war with a Slipspace drive, so I say anything is possible.
They just don't do so these days
I'm not familiar with that ship.
not on the halo servers im on
Anything is possible, sure, but not necessarily likely.
;-;
Also, the Banished.
I mean. What about them?
I assume you haven't played Halo Wars 2 if you're asking.
The Covenant never took them off the map because they were more just a minor thorn in their side than an actual threat.
Oof
Isabel’s dialogue in HW2 plays them up as some grandiose threat but in reality they weren’t a whole lot more than a band of inconvenient raiders and pirates.
In Halo Wars 2 it literally says the Banished were the main threat to the Covenant not Humanity.
And Humanity won because of all the forces weighing down the Covenant.
Hence why Humanity is now contending with the Banished.
The medium that was the Covenant is gone.
And sure I can see that since Isabelle was a bit emotional and could have exaggerated, but didn't they also destroy the Infinity in 10 minutes?
So I rest my case.
Only Isabel said that, and she wasn't exactly a reliable narrator
Sure, but the events of Infinite also support her claims of the Banished Prowess.
they caught the ship by surprise plus the ship was understaffed
Nonetheless.
They caught the Infinity off-guard and rammed like four of their dreadnoughts right into it.
The Phoenix Logs show a more accurate picture of minor raiders that did hit and run tactics on supply depots. Nothing exactly major.
also since we have barely any clear info on the entire battle that first ship that rammed the infinity could have done so at 50% speed of light, who knows
Then there's the issue of the dead Guardians in the background of Infinite.
explains why no one saw a bloody dreadnaught coming
I'll just say I'm under the impression that the Banished are quite formidible.
Doesn’t escharum explain the battle at the end
Also could have been something like we saw in Halo Wars 1.
Where the ship just comes out of Slipspace.
he said the first ship came from the side and the infinity was taken down in 4 mins
wdym
They might be more formidable post-war, but during the war, they were basically nothing.
still doesnt explain why literally no one saw a big but dreadnaught about to ram the ship
neural physics
unless ofc it was going at 100000000000000000 times the speed of light
yes
also surprise starts didnt bring up the supercarrier in the banished
I didn't
ik
it's just weird that you say this but never mention the supercarrier in shadows of reach
i mean last i checked owning a supercarrier aint as easy as picking apples off a tree
tough luck
Fairly sure it is.
i just said it's in shadows of reach
last i checked there aint no halo shadows of reach game
Okay.
with that being said that supercarrier whether it be a cso or copy paste sublime transcended is still going to get one shot by an odp or the infinity's smac

Could have been a comic or a web series
There’s more to halo than just books and games
nah shadows of reach is a manga
Either way, doesn't matter what the Infinity could instakill since it's dead.
since it's dead.
😌 👌 🎉
Doesn't disprove that the Banished are kinda messing everything up.
Hopefully we'll get to see more with campaign expansions.
Would certainly be cool to go through the Infinity's crashsite Halo CE/Titanfall 2 style.
i mean even when it was alive it took 169 megatons of ke to the face and survive a teraton worth of energy being pumped into it, just saying as dumb as it is that banished dreadnaught may have been a star road for all we know
Je ne sais pas mes amie.
I'm just waiting for the Spirit of Fire to return so all their veterans can give every a decent butt kicking.
Plus, I'd love to see some HW stuff find its way into Infinite.
The Locust, Hunter Captain, Vampire, Scarab, etc.
I’m going to sigh with disappointment and go scream into a freezer if they drag the Spirit of Fire into Infinite
Oh, and the Brute Shot from Atriox's chosen.
Which oddly we never see in Infinite.
We see the hand of atriox but not the chosen
even better
He didn’t bring all of his troops with him when he returned to the Milky Way
He left most of the forces he took to the Ark there to fight for control
And as long as the Ark is contested, neither the Banished nor the Spirit of Fire will leave
Also, we never got a conclusion to the Flood outbreak arc.
Halo wars 2 dlc
halo wars 2
It’s not that vague
;-; beaten
The protogravemind is destroyed and the sentinels begin the process of containment and repairing the hardlight wall
Sure, but that doesn't mean it's contained. We never see that officially.
I mean, we literally see Atriox get ambushed by an Infection form
It’s a safe assumption.
Safe enough that succeeding media feels no need to address that flood outbreak
also dont remember divine wind mentioning anymore flood outbreaks currently so there's that
The primary coordinating form of the outbreak was defeated, I think it’s a pretty clear indication that the outbreak has been suppressed for the time being.
Hmmmm
Could be a plot hole, because we know the UNSC were involved in Awakening the Nightmare.
And we also know the Spirit of Fire has a lot of experience with the Flood.
Je ne sais pas 🤷
It’s not really a plot hole, it’s just not something that needs to be continued
Flood are cool af but I'm happy with what we've got.
It would suck if they got overused
Flood suck, lol
I love the flood but yeah in game their really annoying
The idea and concept is cool though
Either way, falling back on my point. Voridus and Pavium would have been way better antagonists than Tovarus and Hyperius.
I find them the least interesting faction
Fair
I think the Flood could be great if they were executed right, it just hasn't been done like that yet.
Still, I felt Halo Infinite was lacking in enemy variety when there was so much stuff introduced with them in Halo Wars 2 that just didn't follow the faction.
Having Chief fight a Hunter Captain such as Colony's hero for a boss would have been great.
Or the Skitterers would have been 10× better than the Skimmers.
And almost fill the exact same role.
Isabel was over-exaggerating with that one.
It is told in Phoenix-Logs that the Banished utilized hit-and-run tactics along guerilla warfare.
They were very weak back then as seen in Rise of Atriox.
Having obtained the CAS of Volir by 2554.
Or 2553?
Well later on they took Jovus' CCS and his whole warpack.
In 2554.
And Atriox was in his corvette after the end of the war.
The Rise of Atriox shows us how the Banished were back then.
So it is surprisive by some 5 years the Banished had a whole fleet with a supercarrier.
Atriox shows how convincing he is, I believe he has S-Tier the Luck and Charisma, ngl
He recruited 3 Silent Shadow members
and then 40k troops and crew members along an extremely versatile shipmaster
They absorbed three legions by 2559.
Of Jiralhanae.
And legions size of 8k to 20k so yeah.
Pretty much, Banished only gained power like 4-5 years after the end of the war.
The bigger they are, the faster they recruit.
"Yo dudes, the Banished is pretty chill, maybe you could like join it or something." - something atriox would say
Halo Infinite has a lot of potential with everything as it is now.
Lots of characters all over the place that could come together or not.
Seeing Chief with Red Team and the Spirit of Fire would be great
Oh and Rubicon Protocol.
I believe it's likely that it's 4 months way.
Not confirmed yet.
What is confirmed is Rubicon Protocol going out next month.
Is Rubicon Protocol a shootoff like H3:ODST?
Two things can happen:
Banished is ruined and my dissappointment is immeasurable
Or Banished are 10 times cooler, better explained and a good book.
nah it's a book
A Halo Novel by Kelly Gay.
Like Horvath and Vetel I believe.
Since I don't think the audio logs say what happened to them.
Unused audio logs show their deaths, at least
They have lots of lore.
Where can I find these?
I assumed that Horvath was just roughing it out in the Desert area Chief was thrown out into at the end of Halo Infinite because of his Multiplayer Armor scheme.
I was hoping he lived.
I just want more Jiralhanae lore please give us a book speaking about the First Immolation.
Skitterers?
monki good
If they were cut content then they can’t be considered canon yet
Vehicles mained by Lekgolo worms.
Yes, they're like Mini Scarabs, about the size of a Grunt/Elite?
The Halo Wars models make their size kinda hard to judge
They're operated hunter worms I believe.
i think spartan IV's are bound to be far more useful then II's and III's in the way of u dont entirely need to train them since their already familiar with the military lifestyle and tactics
also not horrendously amoral
didnt atriox die with the ship too tho?
No
then where did he die?
||he survives to the credits cutscene||
cause by the time chief reached the ring he fought escharum so i thought atriox died on the ship
||wasnt that just time travel having to do with the rings capabilities||
nah he just left to run his used car dealership
Did you complete the game?
no??
yes
i saw him in the last cutscene
but this ring
Then it should be spelled out that he's alive
|| the date was when the dialogue takes place||
nobody questions the possible time travel?
Even if he was in the past, that still wouldn't mean he died on the ship, now would it?
can people not follow a narrative any more lmao
First play the game on heroic
Then on legendary for the cutscene
That's how you do Halo.
I did legendary first time and still understood
It's extremely unlikely time travel is involved.
why am i playing as the arbiter in halo2
Why wouldn't you
Because you are?
It really do be like that sometimes
^
am the bad guy?
Only you can answer that question
wdym
Play the game and find out?
^
Man, who is this arbiter guy and why do we have to play as him instead of the chief, grrr 😡 😤 😤
😡
Just some dumb dino
im not mad about playing him
It's sarcasm
Zeta Halo was in orbit around REACH before slipping to its new position??
so it is entirely possible that Infinity crash landed not on Halo but REACH
...No
Why would you think that?
conversation that took place on Xbox live party chat earlier lol
it was shown to him in a dream
Not the most...informed people.
i had to ask cuz i was adamant that NO Zeta Halo was never in orbit of REACH...but i was told that no im wrong...so i thought id make sure i was on the right track
i think i know why ||[Persons name has been REDACTED]|| said that though
cuz at the end of HW2 Cutter referenced a comms beacon near reach
so idk
That was regarding 09
09 is the replacement of the replacement of 04 right?
08 and 09
so is the launch site map a replica of fireteam windfall's base of operation since it has the same logo as windfall
poor anders
hope she comes back alive
i dont want another sergeant forge accident
i dont either
but we know the Spirit is safe and wreaking havoc at Installation 00
we DONT know the status of infinity...we only have assumptions at this point
we know the Reverie was lost (with all hands??)
and an unidentified frigate was also killed...again presumably with all hands aboard
we need to verify the UNKNOWNs
we know what THE UNSC has...Scattered Forces and infrastructure to support them...but thats about all we have...first we need to secure UNSC assets...verify the UNKNOWNs...KILL the banished and retake Zeta Halo...then i would assume deactivate it for study and decommissioning
...am i missing anything??
infinity was blown up by atriox wasnt it?
halo infinite
The difference between brutes and Spartans is almost funny
Decimus is 2 feet taller than chief and 1200 pounds heavier
if you mean more powerful than a spartan 2 that's very debatable
decimus, is a non enhanced being, yet he can equal a spartans strength in melee combat if not overpower them even if by just a little
it would take 2 spartans to beat him
a spartan in mark 4 or 5 sure
unless ur dealing with a very special spartan
mark 6 and beyond and it's equal game or gg for the brute
not for the normal sII
last i checked
chief is among the best if not the best
a brute cant lift 50 to 100 ton rock
took him a lot of effort to beat decimus
he's lucky
and... chief supposedly can?
yes
Ignore the guy
he did it in shadows of reach
wdym
lmao
You complain about random minor inconsistencies
it aint minor
legit atriox should have been sent across the room going off calcs from mc's punch
ur talking of master chief from the books who is insanely OP
normal master chief wouldnt be doing that
he's powerful in the games too
man just casually punches through titanium in halo 3
also if you use in game stuff then technically he's miles ahead of book chief
but that's in game stuff so nah
Atriox weighs more than chief by a a few hundred pounds
he does
Cutscenes are generally considered reliable/accurate
but the force outputted by chief (supposedly) would still fling atriox all over the infinity
mostly
there are some/alot that take artistic liberties
Lift isn’t equal to punch fully anyway
Thinking of the Osiris cutscenes where Elites stand around lethargically and die to single shots
ik
that is true
Atriox is a walking tank too
u might be able to throw a 20 pound weight, but can u punch it and have it fly across the room?
no
but 00 did a calc about chief's punch and oh boy im starting to question how much does atriox actually weigh
and chief punched with 277 tons of force
supposedly
also we see naomi do the same thing in glasslands and that brute was practically dead
Atriox is a beast
also jerome managed to somehow elbow an elite like 12 feet across the room in mark 4 so that's interesting too
he's a precursor for all i care now
atriox has armor
i bet if u study martial arts, u can learn a bit about the force and who knows maybe atriox had some method to counter chiefs punch?
without taking the full force
(not star wars the force, dont even get me started on that)
i do actually do martial arts
but the math still points towards atriox's face should have been turned into a pancake

hear me out
rvb is acknowledged inside halo officially (in most games they are featured in campaigns), and in the episode where caboose goes to space, he fills the role of noble six and plays through the campaign
not only then is caboose noble six, he is also responsible for delivering the pillar of autumn, master chief and cortana into the mainstream series.
thus noble six is very much alive
im confused
if ur trying to say the series connects the 2, no, not fully
the series is its own timeline
the "silver timeline"
not connected with the halo that we know entirely
noble 6 surviving reach is just a bunch of rumours and myths
we all saw im get stabbed with that energy sword
Toxin is joking. ...And talking about RvB, not the TV show coming out.
nobody can survive that much less before the planet ur on gets glassed
i was p sure rvb was cannon considering halo 3's easter egg
Easter egg being the keyword here
Mr Anderson
glad you acknowledged the pfp
lmao yeah i love the matrix
awesome??
keanu reeves is just greatest actor in and off the stage
just 1 or do you like some others
yeah true
hugo weaving takes the cake though (heavily biased)
ive watched all the matrixs minus the newest one, and most of keanu reeves movies i think?
1 was great, although i havent watched them in a while so my memory isnt perfect with the other matrix's
especially considering no hugo weaving as smith
keanu reeves is the best actor, makes me like him more since i can just see the genuine kindness from him all around
like hes an actual nice human being, i feel like u dont run into too many of those
does master chief use a toilet or does he have a specific container for that in his suit
The armor is capable of recycling the waste
Can somebody recap the events of Halo 4+5 I haven't played them so some of infinite is a bit confusing
I'm replaying all the halo games before I play infinite. I'm on halo 4 rn.
You could look up a video on yt
i got this
Takes a deep breath
Halo 4 takes place 4 years after the closing events of Halo 3 in which the Chief and the Arbiter fled into the Forward onto Dawn to escape the exploding ARK by taking advantage of the FoD's slipspace drive. However, during the escape the FoD was split into 2 resulting in Chief drifting in space for 4 years in a Cryo pod.
Halo 4 begins with the Chief being awakened by Cortana by a threat of a Covenant fleet and an unknown energy signature scanning the ship while being drifted towards a unknown Forerunner planet. The Covenant that we fight in Halo 4 is a faction that split off from the Covenant in the previous games explaining why they are attacking us. Chief manages to destroy a Covenant carrier by using the FoD missiles and after doing so the Forerunner planet opened its entrance and with the manipulation of gravity causes the Covenant, Chief, and the FOD to be forcefully sucked into the planet.
The FoD and most of the covenant ships crash into the planet with the Chief surviving. Its revealed that Cortana is suffering from a state of-
+++++++
Ok on second thought this is actually alot. I recommend as Mief suggested looking up a video
blue lady dies and comes back to become space ~~dictator ~~saviour and somewhere along the lines there's a bunch of space vietnamese monkes running around
ok thanks
I mean... yeah but watch a summary video if you can. You need more context.
How effective would a spartan 2 headhunter in mark 7 be
Spartan-II Headhunters don't exist.
So... pretty much any Spartan-II.
So what exactly are you looking for with "how effective"?
Because that's... not really a question with a clear answer.
Killing effectiveness
Also what happened to the majority of the Spartan-II’s
Killed or crippled by augmentations.
Killed in action during the Fall of Reach and its immediate aftermath.
I mean... That's not really something with a good answer either. They'd be really good at doing that shooting and killing thing they've always been good at.
So are there a small amount or is. Master chief the only one left
There's around 14-15 left.
Ok that’s an ok amount
006, 010, 011, 025, 042, 058, 087, 092, 099, 104, 111, 117, 120, 130
Not counting the new ones introduced for the TV series who presumably have core canon counterparts that we don't know anything about.
Could more Spartan-II’s pop up
No
I mean, if someone wanted to write in more, sure.
Their numbers have already been a mess for years with additions like Gray, Black, Red, and Omega so I doubt it.
Oh, Jorge too.
However the more you introduce the more you kinda underscore how terrible Reach was and how much of an impact it left on all the SIIs
Jorge was an interesting one
Do you think oni would make more considering how effective they were
Uhhh... no?
They have Spartan-IV now if they need more Spartans.
Kidnapping children and augmenting them with procedures that only have a ~50% success rate would be an absolutely terrible idea.
Sp2's had to be trained since they were kids since a child's mind is more adaptable and body too
What’s next Spartan-Vs
I mean, if they wanted to make another program, sure.
Seems like something 343 would do
New content?
What new content?
It would be an interesting topic
SIVs already effectively full any role that another Spartan group could fill
Adding a new branch of Spartans
Spartan-IV is already designed in a way that makes it so major innovation can just be directly integrated into it
There's not any need to make an entirely new program
The reason for the upgrading branches of Spartans were based around the ease of developing the Spartans and the morality behind how they recrutied
Unless most of the spartan 4s die
With SIVs that have an easy, safe, and moral replacement to the SIIs
...In which case they can just make more S-IVs.
They don't need to jump to a theoretical S-V.
Yeah an SIVs is far easier to replace than an SII or making a whole new branch
Making more Spartans has never been a justification for starting up a new program.
Spartan-II at one point was planned to have a second class. Never was called Spartan-III.
Spartan-III's companies were all initiated and trained at different times, yet none of them were given a new number. They were all just new companies under the same program.
What has been the reason for going up a number is innovation and improvement.
Hm
As well as a whole shift in command and who produced the program, but that was partially due to necessity and the times
Well didn’t the banished prove to be a threat
Well weren’t they able to kill S-IVs relatively easily
Plus SpIIIs were made to just combat the covenant on a wide scale and be suicide troops
Well weren’t they expendable
And what would a whole new unit of SVs theoretically do to stop that?
Also worth considering that they've been killing Spartan-IVs with a significant advantage behind them.
Demoralized, isolated, resource-strapped S-IVs.
dead
something similar to proto 4s preferably without the insane aspects of it
Pretty sure Jorge is dead
or
Nah. He's 100% been reincarnated as an elite.
This is the kind of citizen ONI likes
Someone who believes their propaganda
Nah Jorge is hiding in a slipspace cave lmao
Section 2 be like 🙌
thinking more optimistically he is still aboard the long night of solace as it entered slipspace then got dropped off somewhere
perhaps
Imma be real, if Spartans didn't Die, my campaigns wouldn't be the same.

honesltly REACH made me depressed cuz i couldnt save ANY spartans...Gauntlet, Red and Echo teams...NOBLE...all lost
oh??
Reach makes my eyes glaze over because everything looks so brown and grey
what did it make you question @tacit charm
how did cso a 28km long ship manage to slip through reach
why did the unsc just bumrush into battle (tip of the spear intro) when they could literally be all wiped out by a few plasma torpedo or energy projector
Never play Fallout 3 or NV then lol
well i could only assume because of teh precision grante dby covenant slipspace drives...they simply bypassed her (REACH) orbital defense grid
which probably explains why instead of 20 Earth had 300 lol
...But how did the thing go entirely unnoticed until some barely related comms relay went down.
Reach for me makes me question the UNSC.
It was the main fortress world that remained, Earth being the main major planet left beyond it. Why on earth (or off earth, in this case) wasn't the UNSC being more proactive to prevent their advance, rather than being reactive. The fact that Noble Team stumbled across them, believing them to be insurrectionists, and then the surprise of High Com at the revelation that the Covenant were on Reach.
Considering that throughout most of the war, the Covenant struggled on land, with their major advantage being superior numbers.
Was the UNSC being incompetent or were they just switching to Defence of Earth mode?
now THAT i cannot explain lol
If they dropped out of slipspace underneath the ODP network there'd be some massive signs of it.
why did savanah engage in such close ship to ship combat i mean it's space
why didnt i get noticed or picked up by the falcons at the beginning of exodus when you would clearly be able to see me
well if Savannah used her cannon then boarding the corvette...would have rendered upper cut phase 2 moot
so a strafing run with her point defense cannons would make sense
...unless im missing something
why didnt the unsc just just mac/bombard the battlefield (tip of the spear again) with missiles instead of engaging stuff like wraiths and scarabs in essentially close quarters combat
maybe missiles?? but that also would have been risky not just to the corvette but to the sabres and spartans as well...i do not know if the weapons officer can steer the weapons in like a mark 48 ADCAP
Probably because bombarding the planet surface with mac rounds would upset the ecosystem
That’s like saying “use a smaller nuke”
Maybe if it wasn’t their planet then they’d consider that course of action
not like the cov can intercept a mac round
They didn’t shoot the surface
ik
i mean i would argue that REACH was the UNSCs version of pearl harbor...the pride of the Navy and probably the MOST defensible...i blame complacency...complacency ALWAYS plays a factor is such things
wtf is that spire made out of
also macs arent generally all that powerful (at least the ones on the paris anyways)
i too was expecting the covenant to receive a serious beating at REACH...then Kat dropped a fat one...i KNOW were losing i want to know if weve lost
flash forward to Infinite...we are probably teh only 2 humans left alive out here
That wasn’t until after the covenant backup arrived
then there is still hope
Hard to compare Pearl Harbour to Reach.
Reach was a significant loss, against an established enemy.
Pearl Harbour was an attack from a party not at war with the US, and actually didn't do much damage in the grand scheme of things.
I'd compare the first contact between Humanity and the Covenant to the Pearl Harbour.
The UNSC didn't lose a huge amount - like Reach - however the Covenant weren't a declared enemy, in fact, they didn't exist to us. Although, Harvest came into the Firing Line.
why and how did an odp mac round intercept a corvette despite being in geosync orbit, either that station had to fire at full speed/4% the speed of light which well rip noble team and sword baseor it would have had to literally fire an hour before noble got there and dont get me started on how dumb that is
why in the entire mission of nightfall was no cov alerted to some spartans infiltrating their site, you cant signal for help or something when you see a pair of titanium men infiltrate your base? that's dumb
fair point
just my emotions wont allow me to be objective when it comes to REACH...or the infinity or that matter
OPDs dont fire 4% of light speed. Thats bad data, always has been
it's in the fall of reach though ;-;
Most of it can be boiled down to "Bungie didnt bother to read anything beyond the basics of what Nylund wrote" because they happily stole his Spartan-IIIs for Noble and yet didnt bother to match the storyline of Reach to the book.
The fans had to do that for them.
or whatever you want 'point four-tenths' to mean
We did it, but it would have been a lot easier if they'd made do with the existing material.
I mean, when Reach came out I HATED its campaign cause of that.
I was so mad.
fall of reach also has 30km/s macs too so that's interesting
Though to be fair I didnt wanna replay the Covenant invasion I wanted to play on the surface instead, running hit and fade strikes on the Covenant remnants there
Like in First Strike

The corvette was over a body of water so maybe that’s why the use of a max round was considered ok
Like detonating a Nuke underwater largely reduces the danger
Okay imagine being a group of fish, just chilling when a slab of metal slams into your lake a fraction of the speed of light lol
either that mac round travelled the full 4% speed which would explain why it was able to intercept the corvette while it's fleeing but doesnt address why the resulting ke passing through the ship wouldnt have resulted in everyone dying since last i checked that corvette or any ship for that matter outside of unyielding hierophant have gigaton level shielding. the more likely option is it fired at a much slower velocity which is the annoying since odps are in geo synch orbit so it would have to fire fast enough to be intercept the ship in time but not have the passing ke from transferring pass the ship and bombing yeeting sword base
Yes it wouldn’t be great for the fish, but the water would reduce the shockwave much more effectively than if the round impacted a body of land
there's also the other option a mac on a ship fired that mac round but pedia aint making any notes on this so...
The corvette also wasn’t fleeing at a particularly fast speed
Longswords were able to keep up with it, which to me suggests moving at around the speed of sound or just under
fast enough to cover it's own length in a few seconds
Radar can track jets moving at super sonic speeds, you’d just need to do some math to calculate where to aim so the paths intersect
i mean it can track it sure
And then unsc has AI so calculations like that could be done near instantly
but how fast is that mac round actually travelling is the real deal
However fast it was moving, it would have been a known speed so that would have been factored into the calculations
oh ye also forgetting the option the odps can just switch rounds so there's that
if you take the cutscene at face value (did this like half a year ago so dont at me) but that mac was travelling at 11+km/s which is fine if the odps are 100 km above reach's surface but they arent
just to suspense logic for a second and assume the shields of a corvette can withstand 1 megaton of damage (there's no lore supporting the 1 megaton stuff if anything the number would be lower, anyways just for the sake of the argument) and the round the odp is firing is still the 3000 ton variant then it's still only travelling at 52.8ish km/s which is still a tad bit slow considering where yo average odps are normally located
I mean, by technicality, theres weirdness about that in-game.
Kat literally asks "wheres our orbital support, got to be 4 platforms that could take it out with a single MAC rounds."
When LITERALLY SECONDS INTO THE OPENING CUTSCENE Dot says they cant use MAC rounds cause of how important Sword is
The best of the banished. Almost all of whom are deceased
explains alot about her driving abilities
issue in that one cutscene is the round is either going to fast or too slow making that corvette either more powerful than any covenant ship bar unyielding hierophant (maybe) and high charity or somehow weaker than a light cruiser
Stone alone took down like six or seven with nothing but two screwdrivers.
Those that survived promptly ran headfirst into the metal wall that is John-117. With predictable results
that was sorel
also i think in the logs he took them out with his weapon and got the screwdriver to fight tovarus and hyperius, but i got to double check
Well theres a Brute with a screwdriver driven into his brain in the pile o corpses so
i guess
ya sorel got some with his weapon
What was wrong with Escharum? The Blade Master said he smelled sick or something to that effect.
Isn't he exceptionally old for a Brute by the events of Infinite?
Pretty much
Having an Elite comment on how bad something smells reminded me of Half-Jaw warning the Arbiter about the Flood in Halo 2.
Dont elites smell like armpit and rancid?
I remember reading that in the Mona Lisa Story
Are you seriously asking or
I think they generally just smell "leathery"
As for Mona Lisa...I think there were circumstances there
I mean, leave anyone on a prison ship where Flood experiments are carried out and they'll smell like unwashed armpits.
^
Context clues are always good to look out for
Feels like we've had a weird week for Sangheili questions.
Yeah
Youre telling me
Does it seem like 343 is introducing more and more groups into Halo? Rather than big bads, they're going for competing factions?
I just browse from time to time
This channel
I saw elite eggs and was like huh
Yeah they have a leathery scent
Prison ship was the reason for that elites smell lol
cant a mac still blow a hole through a corvette? at least their shielding
too bad their both the same gender... now humanity truly is doomed if their the last 2
wasnt reach also pretty much halseys research base? and the home of the spartans
Reach was alot of things.
Grunt burger... what a name-
Humanity's Military Cornerstone.
Home of the Spartans.
Creator of the Moa Burger.
for only 7 credits you can get a grunt burger and frenchy fries...pay a quarter extra and get a dimpisized meal
oh wait wrong movie
💩
depends how strong the shields are
also to bring up something from yesterday, it's not uncommon for a mac to fire at a lower velocity whether that be on purpose like the spire or just not charging in time
wat
why doesn't the mjolnir visor look transparent at all,yet chief and others perfectly see through it ?
It's polarized.
makes sense
but then odst kicks in with the visor that turns from regular glass into non-transparent grey glass
depending on visr mod being turned off and on respectively
Spacesuits IRL have a gold flim that blocks light coming in, but let's them see out. Spartan helmets have a HUD though, like a TV screen.
Were most AI approaching the 7 year limit by the time of Halo 4?
AI aren't made at the same time, so no
That depends.
Consider that 1.) Smart AI were a primary and least expendable of all assets. If the UNSC could save anything from a Covenant invasion, it'd be the AI. 2.) Manufacturing them isn't exactly easy. Requires specialist equipment and skills, not to mention materials.
There may have been a surplus of Smart AI after the war. Cortana's generation, the last ones to be made before the Covenant made their big push toward earth.
In the audiofiles for Infinity, she claims most AI in the galaxy sided with the Created. I'm kind of thinking most AI were nearing the end of their service life. Halo 5 has two examples of AI near or at the end, but still being put to work.
Smart AI aren't made all at once per generation. They're made whenever.
quick question when Boomerang Company killed the Despair class fighter on Installation 00...was that a diversion so Atriox could escape to REACH on a lich??
also to follow up on westleys chain of thought YES governor sloan and rooker were both at the end of there service lives...however i only know of an exceptional few that DIDNT side with cortana...Roland being chief among them...there was also BB (BlackBox) and the AI that were salvaged from Sydney before it was (presumed) destroyed
Because we barely got any details on the Created era.
i would say almost nothing BUT then again y'all are the experts i am just the new jack lol
Think of it in terms of demographics. The average age of AI in the galaxy by Halo 4 was probably pretty high. Like 4 or 5 years. You'd have newer ones like Roland made in between Halo 3 and Halo 4, but they'd be comparatively rare because of the effort involved.
Consider that Infinity launched without an AI. The all important UNSC flagship with all it's rare and special tech.
There's also the fact that Cortana's generation saw the worst days, quite possibly the last days of humanity.
Roland was made in 2557. And Infinity did launch with an AI.
Where is it in Halo 4 then lol?
Cortana killed her by accident
lol
infinitys AI was Aine
According to external media
before she was killed by Cortana in her rampant state
Right, well, my idea is that most Ai were old and served in the shadow of the Human-Covenant war. That'd determine their mindset. Even older ones nearing the end of their service lives are still being pressed to continue working because they're needed that much.
They're under alot of pressure.
So it's less about saving themselves and more that humanity can't survive without them.
It's easy to think that considering how true it apparently is.
"Young" AI like Roland would be less inclined to betray their makers. Aside from still having years of service ahead of them, they don't really know how bad things can be.
Some of em were barely a year old, like Leonidas, who served from 2558 - 2559
Oh, wait, no, I'm wrong.
That's when his service ended.
He was made in 2553.
Reach established that AI have a kind of secret society where they have hidden communications with one another concerning the state of things.
And they've existed for hundreds of years.
343 has said that they would rather they retcon that
So I wouldn't place too much stock in it
i mean a secret society makes sense given what happend with Iona
also when i heard about Ionas "trial" Rolands outburst in H5 made TOTAL sense
It seems to be a glorified chatroom for all intents in purposes.
Not exactly a conspiracy.
They've talked about how they guided humanity over the years and are even the ones who made the Covenant aware of humanity. So a little more important than just a chatroom
Really? I don't remember that.
Well, what I was getting at is that Ai talk to one another. And just like people, they can form a culture of shared experiences.
That they'd have a generational mindset isn't unbelievable to me.
what's the topic?
