The sabres from Halo Reach were as you may recall 'experimental'. The normal broadswords were the ones we saw in halo CE that we hitched a ride on leaving a exploding ring.
no the craft in CE was a C-709 LONGsword
omegabruh
not a broadsword
shshshsh lmao the other guy knows his stuff
so the Sabre we see in halo REACH is a "redesigned" (for lack of a better word) broadsword
i thought it was a sabre?
it is
so is broadsword a class or that specific ships name
that why i said resdigned for lack of abetter word lol
i would say its own class
but same family of craft
probably class then
so LONGswords, BROADswords and SHORTswords all beling to teh same family of craft
let me pull some images
with your permission @loud kestrel im going to send you some DMs because ifk if we are allowed to post images in here
ok
u guys can just dm me whenever i dont have those weird issues with it other people tend to have
Spartan Jagger Steele, out
longswords are gigachad all around aircraft, shortsword are b2 lookalike aircraft and broadswords are chadier 200km/s, at one point shooting bullets 1/10 the speed of light aircraft

The Longsword is such a bizarre design
Especially the C709 model
The thing is larger than a B2 Spirit but it’s supposed to be an atmospheric/exoatmospheric fighter-bomber
Like what in the world
what's wrong with a literal flying brick

I don’t think there’s necessarily anything wrong with it, it’s just a bit ridiculous and excessive
ye i meant this model
lmao thats just a flying dorito chip LOL
Never really paid close attention to the C718 before but now I’m seeing some bits of F-117A influence
i cant unsee that now lol
i mean took you long enough

I was very disappointed back in 2011 when we flew a Sabre instead of the Longsword in Halo Reach. To be curious in lore why did we have to fly the Sabre? was the Longsword just too big and fast for gameplay?
I assume that would be the most likely case
With how wide it is it may have simply been too big to properly fly for a player
Yeah and thinking about, the level as well would need to be bigger too.
Speaking of sizes what is the story of the crashed Longsword on Tempest on Halo Reach?
The Longsword that crashed is actually smaller, they really screwed up the sizes
My theory is Tempest was actually shrunk down, playing that map made me feel like a giant in so many places...
No real story for it really
I looked into a bit and some say it could be that Soren guy.
I think it was some marine that tried escaping when the Autumn crashed and was shot down by maybe the covies or some forerunner defence system.
I don't really see why anybody could think it was Soren
Some say Soren stole a Longsword, Im sure Chief was the only one that was on Halo 04
The last time we saw Soren was in 2525 on Reach
So there's...really no reason anybody could think it was his
Well that makes sense
Do you think it was a marine that tried escaping the Autumn?
I guess
I always liked the storied behind many of the Reach maps, surprised many don't talk about Longsword.
A lot of people probably just don't find it interesting or noteworthy
I agree its not as eye catching as the weird dolphin picture that slowly opens its eyes.
It’s meant to represent the smaller C712 model, which I assume Bungie created after they realized how absurdly large the original C708 Longsword is.
That would explain alot, still wondering where it even came from...
well when a mommy longsword loves a daddy longsword...
They make a sabre
Does anyone think that there are infinite universes here in this idk...?
Some people say that multiverse is now a thing in Halo now
That was scary, now saving that now I can send that to my friend and now he can be scared too, thank you.
lmao your welcome
it's been a thing since the forerunner trilogy
and no im not talking about vacuum energy stuff
You mean the now dubbed Halo forerunner saga
idc
Trilogy normally means 3 games based around one theme from what I had been taught and a saga is something that goes beyond just 3 games.
What does multiverse mean to you?
Im sure the books take place in the same Halo universe
multiverse is that stuff in marvel lmao
to say the least
Thats why I am asking I asked what it meant to him and he called it the comics which for the most part took takes place in the same universe
He's referring to other "realities" the Forerunners knew of, like Shunspace, the Glow, and other oddball realms
when did i say the comics
Yeah the books is what I meant
what about multiversal residue
That is what I am talking about and wondering where it came from, had a cool discussion on this topic
@tacit charm we have yet to see anything saying life was shown to exist in other universes, likely thanks to universes being consumed shortly after their big banga
oh ik
@steel stone comes from Halo: Cryptum
made that point in r/halo server
Woah it goes that far back? cool
Would I be right if I said those medieval armor's they added to MCC Halo 3 be another Halo reality?
anyways there is some type of multiverse in halo
Imagine the awesome possibilities
no info whether it's a marvel like smuck or just a universe is its own thing
I wish Halo 4 and 5 hinted at something like that
Halo had such a simple plot, can see it doing something like Marvel.
Eh feels too cheap to me, bringing a multiverse in feels lazy in my book
Same
Looking at those Medieval armors, imagine a Halo game that took place in that multiverse.
also here's the full quote
"Forerunners have
prodded sufficient power to change the shape of worlds, move stars, and
even to contemplate shifting the axes of entire galaxies. We have explored
other realities, other spaces—slipspace, denial of locale, shunspace, trick
geodetics, natal void, the photon-only realm called the Glow"
idk, seems kinda redundant to just say you visited other dimensions twice
"and even to contemplate shifting the axes of entire galaxies" also i like this line
very interesting
I wanna play that boss as hell scene from Halo Legends where the whole covenant teamed up with the UNSC just to give the flood hell. That level would of been so freakin cool
eh
Was just Cortana'a idea of what had happened
Oh crap I just thought of that because she never knew only the Elites teamed up with Chief, I love the details
nah halo legends visuals are 100% canon i mean iso totally activated the halo arrays on a halo and totally not on the ark

I would like to see that other reality just so I can hear Sacred Icon 2 being used in a Halo game.
u didnt
ikr
My apologies there I got mixed up a bit.
I hope we get a other reality that took place in Halo Legends, that scene with them all teaming up on fighting the flood, cant think of a better climax to a Campaign. That better be a thing for Halo 8 or 9 whatever
noooooooooooooooooooooooooo
no more realities in halo lmao
its already confusing let alone with a universe as complex as in halo
its gonna be like marvel... and thats them explaining ONE universe
If I had to be honest I would not mind, if 343 says its possible then thats really that. If it is done then do it like how I mentioned, would be hype.
i mean
but it wouldnt happen since, well a good portion of the multiverse would already have died by the flood
let alone getting the technology to go between the multiverse
they kinda messed up the world building of halo and made the forerunners dumb to the point where you question wtf were they smoking
Its night for me.
why do u say that?
What you said fits this perfectly
forerunner having the ability to travel to other universes yet choosing to stay in one tiny asf galaxy
This reality is dark as hell
basically what if.... zombies
terrifying how they got the avengers abilities even afterwards
and how tf did iron man get infected through his armor anyways?
If there other full blown universes in the haloverse, they'd have long ago being eaten by the flood
like he can take a tanks bullet but not a zombie?
In the comic, he got infected through the eye hole
maybe
u saw him get hit and live in iron man 1, and that was his less powerful armor
Imagine in Halo Infinite you walk into some light and its all Halo 3 again but its that dark reality and soon as you die you end up back in the regular Halo Infinite campaign again.
That would blow everyones mind
ill do you better
he got hit by a chunk of a planet
probably, i bet in 1 of the timelines the flood wouldve reached some forerunner tech at one point or another where they would end up going to another universe and killing that one that is unsuspecting, but i guess in those ones that dont have flood yet, they still have precursors which would have the potential to save everything and not be killed off by the forerunners
@steel stone what?
thats the thing about multiverses, anything and everything will happen, its just the question of will the good outnumber the bad or the other way around
odd that the gravemind states ending galaxies was the be all end all for the flood
Nothings just an idea
@loud kestrel the main problem is it opens too many can of worms. Heck, may as well claim the precursors are actually the Covenant from another reality who went in the Journey
lmao
funnily enough i had the same thought for the tv show
As cool as the Forerunners are I just think they are just boring now, feels like we know already everything about them. Feels like the mystery is gone
like where the precursors became the covenant? or the covenant became the precursors, or both?
and thats what multiplayer is for
once you've exhausted all hope of the campaigns, multiplayer remains for your pleasure
Find it funny we know more about the Forerunners than we do the Covenant
ikr
gross
I dont really get that since I play Campaigns almost all the time, Reach and 4 being most enjoyable for me
play customs then
reach is my all time favorite
and yes customs are great too
a lot of customs on reach and 3
whoever controls the sabre, controls the universe
although its too bad they took out spartan ops from 4
pulls out a rocket launcher
I think Halo 4 customs would of topped Reach's but 343 made too many basic dumb mistakes
chuckles

blows up the sabre
Infected Spartans in Halo 4 cannot use weapons, no words can be said
seriously though that bootleg f22 is op asf
sabres too fast in such a small map, be doing crazy amounts of turns that u wont be doing much shooting
and if u miss u gotta take another 5-10 seconds to turn around and realign
maybe longer
honestly never had a problem with piloting the sabre in a small map
just get good at piloting
issue is, u hit it into anything, it explodes, tiny map, not a good view to shoot people on the ground, plenty of cover for them, and maybe a rocket launcher... easy win for them
also the guns on your sabre can basically shred falcons and banshees in one shot and given you have shields you can also just ram into anything bar the map itself or another sabre/seraph
They added those insanely over the top Vehicles but still didnt bother adding the Pelican to Reach, they need a real map for the Sabre and Sereith.
I am very grateful we finally have this but add the right maps for them
they do lmao
but they got forge world and even thats not big enough
Yep they sure added the Pelican and Dropships
they should just bring back the map from the campaign in space
and add forge to it
no floating objects
ye... not sure if you played customs cause the only thing that can stop a sabre besides another sabre is a gauss cannon
just still ones that u build in space
A bigger kick in the balls is we can fly the Pelican in Halo 4s forge, a forge that is 80% killed off
99%
i never touched h4 forge once
strictly reach and 5, sometimes 3
As mad as I sound I find it just too funny at the lack of direction XD
Have you been in a lobby that is full of Sabres?
oh ya lmao i remember i actually played a little bit of h4 with my friends, i was working on attempting to build something but they were flying around with sabres friendly firing me, so i pulled out this MASSIVE green screen and put it in their path so they'd blow up

That sounds awesome
biggest object i could find
like u know the big platform in halo 5's forge? it was about as big as that
Screen screens were big that game if I remember correctly
and since i could even rotate it
i rotated it at high speeds
making like this really indestructible point lmao
Saving grace of Halo 4 is you can use the Broadsword on Forge Island and that is what is NEEDED for Halo Reach
It was a cool discussion see you soon.
lel
how does the energy sword not cut the wrists of its users
is it ever mentioned to do that?
Covenant plasma is unexplained space magic that you shouldn’t put too much thought into
I still wondering how the hell Elites in Halo 4 and 5 see anything when their eyes in their mouth. Their eyes are so close to their mouth Im shocked they didnt stab their eyes with their teeth.
Has UNSC tried to recolonise Reach after the Covenant fell?
And who’s skull are we fighting over in oddball?
There are some on Reach trying to clean the planet of the glass and make it habitable again, though progress is slow
Not really a detail that's important, it's just a skull
Thank you for answering my questions.
What’s the current status of the Flood
At the moment all Flood instances are contained. The only quarantined zone of unkept flood is High Charity on the ARK.
Ah alright, thanks for the explanation
Cuz damn, I’m itching for some Endless Flood forms
I would like to see that
Well if Flood was to spring into action installation 07 is arguably the best place for it to happen.
True
The Flood containment units might’ve been damaged from all the Banished interference
Tbh they could probably pull any reason they want and no one within the halo fanbase would say anything since we all want them to appear anyway
Yeah
I wonder why there is no infection mode on infinite (maybe lore or maybe another reason).
They intend to add that later
frmo my knowledge
Ok
we all want them to appear anyway
good lord no
L
Correction: Majority of the fanbase wants them to appear
💀
The Flood aren’t even a particularly engaging enemy from a gameplay standpoint and it’d honestly be the nail in the coffin for any hope I still have for 343 in terms of doing anything interesting story-wise
Sorry but I disagree 110%. From a gameplay perspective the Flood aren't a issue at all and I cant see your reasoning behind that. The flood have not to pull a joke here but near infinite story potential when it comes to Installation 07 in which the Flood have a deep history with that connects back to the Forerunner-flood war.
Infinite already devotes so much to trying to reset to the status quo of “humanity under threat of extinction” that I’m already wary of the direction of the Halo universe going forward
How aren’t they engaging
The fact that they can assume practically infinite (No pun intended) forms of combat (Pure forms, standard combat forms, infection forms, etc), and also the fact that they’re so threatening that even a Tier-1 extraterrestrial civilisation was utterly dominated by them
Pure forms were tedious bullet sponges and combat forms were generally just horrendously dull
The ones that shot spikes and the skinny ones were easy to kill
In my experience, at least
The tank form is really the only tanky one, as was intended of it
The status quo you mentioned has already been placed into stone. While I understand your perspective of Halo infinite attempting to pull us back into the beginning of the covenant war with Humanity on the backfoot I simply can't agree with your reasoning on this standpoint.
The only game where the Flood were actually fun to play against was CE and like half of that is because of the way 343 Guilty Spark and The Library set a particular mood surrounding that
And it’s helped by the fact that CE’s shotgun is a nightmarish monster in its own right
The status quo you mentioned has already been placed into stone.
And I kinda hate it.
The shotgun is the only reason humanity isn’t extinct yet 💀
I do not like this reset and think it’s an obnoxiously spineless move on 343’s end.
And thats fair. I actually agree with you with the method that Infinity was brought down considering how far 'advanced' it was. Regardless of how you like the current story the Flood only serves to enhance it and not downgrade it further.
Can you blame them, they wanna cater to both new and old fans of the series
Imho, this was the perfect way to do that
Yeah tbh cant agree with that completely
As a newer fan of the series, I think it was a terrible decision.
After the relative disaster that was Halo 5, they needed some way to boost income
Halo isn’t going to go anywhere interesting by going in circles trying to tell the same “humanity underdogs fight for survival” story over and over.
Yea ofc, I can see why, but I personally don’t mind much
Fair point
I know why they did it, I just think it was an incredibly lazy and uninteresting overcorrection
It was definitely an overcorrection, but the amount of honest work they put in the overall package wins me over
As much as I didn’t like 5’s campaign, the whole direction for the Created could’ve led to some interesting storytelling. And now it’s all been abandoned in favor of “Covenant (but red) threatens humanity with extinction”.
343’s inability to commit to a storyline is very disheartening and frustrating because 4 and 5 each left plenty of potential to explore the universe and its characters in new ways
But now we’re back to square one with the universe side of things.
You’re right about that one
Infinite does alright with most of its characters, which is the major saving grace of its campaign for me.
The Banished structure is somewhat poor, and I think they made the faction only for the sake of the classic Elites and Brutes
But it still bites a little because a lot of the Banished side just gets killed off. Like I would’ve loved to get more Jega content going forward, but now he’s dead and the best we’ll ever get for him is prequel material
MIA* we don’t see his dead body
I don’t think prequel media is inherently bad, but I do think it suffers from the payoff being “lmao none of this matters because you already know you kill him later on”
Definitely
if 343 wants to make the flood stupid they're more or less contained in the milky way(ish) galaxy. if 343 wants to make the flood an intimidating, unstoppable force of nature idk they're somewhere out there
It’s basically confirmed by this point that the Flood are extragalactic
Cough Path Kethona cough
pretty sure path corona got nuked by a halo
btw dont at me and say that's not how a halo works it's a jk
but there is that "oh we ended galaxies line" from the gravemind and the 10,000ish years of flood left unaccounted for
Lmfao
343 Industries might tackle the more eldritch aspect of the Flood as the franchise continues, but rn, they’re defo not even gonna touch the subject
Primordium and Silentium did plenty to accentuate their power anyway
The more I think about the more bringing back the Flood feels like it’d just be a storytelling crutch
Like, sure, there’s some history with Installation 07 that they could scrape into, but I don’t feel like I’d trust anyone enough to make it more than just another “here’s the thing from [older game] that you like, is the campaign good yet?”
Could (if not would) their be humans who have joined the banished or are the banished not accepting humans.
i mean there was a few humans in the banished during divine winds
rip a krapton of them
343 might revolutionise things again a bit after Infinite
They’re playing it safe rn for obvious reasons
I sure wouldn’t expect it
After Infinite got so much praise in the vein of “it’s like the old ones so it’s automatically better than stinky bad 4 and 5” I really don’t have much faith that they’ll try to do anything new or revolutionary
honestly 343 might double down on how deadly the flood were and then proceed to say the endless are actually time lords from Dr Who

The worst part is, you’re not being farfetched here
I hate that it’s even a possibility

I hope Halo doesn’t induced a multiverse
Yeah
Another excuse to bring Cortana back for 2 more games

The TV show might make that a thing
Idk
Wait forreal? Not alternate universes, but a multiverse?
Not exactly a mulitverse that people usually expect, to clarify
Things like this: https://www.halopedia.org/The_Glow
Other realities does not equal a multiverse
^
what about multiversal residue
that aint the thing im usually referring to
also in the same multiversal residue page it interestingly enough still uses 'realities' interchangeably with 'universes'

There could easily be plenty of different realities that would be the cause of that multiversal residue. Doesn't mean they are full blown universes with sapient life or mirror verses
hence why i said of some kind
Than that answers your question.
I just wanted to make sure they didn't get the wrong idea from "multiverse"
Well typically people think multiverse as alternative versions of themselves. Marvel, DC, etc
What would another universe look like
Thats not something halo needs
Just like photons floating around with different physics
"Precursor transit, shedding **multiverse **residues at a rate
that makes them temporarily vulnerable to the Falchion’s immediate response.
The presence of Forerunner forces within this region is apparently a surprise.
So begins the clench. While the re-emerging enemy forces are most vulnerable, still surrounded by a haze of alternate realities"
would be odd and a wee bit confusing using 'realities' to reference other dimensions instead of universes considering you just mentioned a multiverse
sigh the point is Dregg that it's not multiversal in the way people typically think of the statement.
i never said it was like marvel and dc multiverse i just said there was a multiverse
We know, we're just saying most other people would immediately think that, so we wanted to clarify it, for their sake
And that we are in agreement, I am only clarifying its not the style people typically think of
If there is a measurable alternate universe then the door is open for a “conventional multiverse” but god that is something that this franchise does not need right now
Do they do anything with the photon universe, like draw energy from it, or is it just mentioned in passing
The ur Didact does use it to study pathways if i recall while traveling in cryptum
it was mentioned once by iso and i think mentioned at another time by ur
@shut steppe
Still odd only that one was given a tiny bit of expansion, while the rest are just words to sound fancy
I saw that idk what it means to analyze space around a planet
still find it hilarious the forerunners only contemplated tilting the galaxy
Explain
I could wonder if Roland operate UNSC Infinity all by himself
Probably? In terms of running ship's functions, sure. I imagine there's a lot of keeping the ship going stuff that can't be automated or isn't automated though, so it'd essentially be a stopgap.
Also even if Roland remained loyal, you'd have to think the UNSC would be more interested in walling off AI from ship's functions post-Created.
Well, he should be suppose to be inside UNSC Infinity when the Banished attack
and if we consider Spartan Ops
Roland can fly the infinitry without human aid
but yeah i also wonder what happend to the infinity after she was abandoned
if the banished have her we NEED to take her back
and if she has crashed, we need to salvage her...finish construction on the Eternity and take the fight to the banished
whos roland
The assigned AI for the Infinity.
@red flare Halo: Cryptum says that the Forerunners could contemplate tilting a galaxy's axis, that's about it
Can Chevy Tahoe beat a grunt?
yes
How did the elite betrayal happen in halo? Was it like order 66 and all brutes suddenly started attacking elites at the same time
Kinda, yeah. Though the ones at Earth kicked things off a little earlier.
Correct, though one prophet was warning his Elite companions that Truth was acting extremely suspicious.
Ah. A prophet that isn’t a monster. Interesting. I like that
Because that was where the Ark portal was, and Truth didn't want Elites sullying it up, I'd wager
The book Broken Circle goes into it a bit
I’ll search it up and look into it. Thank you
Good question of the random is the vulture space Worthy / be able to go through hyperspace I know not the fish name but I forgot the name of it
Spitting fax tho
Don’t ask how they managed to massacre most of the Precursors in the Milky Way
hello Spartans, whats happening in this thread
What's a spartan
cause the precursors let them or they also sucked as
cringe
based

maybe there were too few precursors.
kinda odd for someone like the primo to get mad that most of his race got yeeted into the beyond if there was still a sit on of precursors out there
It’d be weird that they’d then reform as the Flood to get revenge on the Forerunners
Unless they like poetic justice to such a degree
The dust that they transformed into got corrupted
The Primordial (Who is by and large a legitimate Precursor) manipulated the Flood into massacring the Forerunners
Either it wasn’t present during the Forerunner-Precursor war or it had a rapid change of heart for some reason
Ok
Precursors laggin’
hence the other option of they sucked as
💀
considering many precursors have their own thoughts and motives it seems some if not most of them did indeed just suck as
how do the spartans pee
From what I know Spartans don’t go to the toilet as their waste is recycled back into food water.
By their suits.
wow thats gross but also cool
It explains how Master Chief was able to survive in space for so long in Halo Infinite.
Its a shame literally nothing is mentioned besides from Echo-216 mentioning his suit having some kind of survival mode. I would assume the suit somehow had a internal cryo stasis but even that is hard to believe.
I sense a tag
Somethings happening I can type my reply
Are you getting warning messages from the bot?
Nope
Strange. I can only imagine the bot deleting it if it contains something against the guidelines
But other than that no clue.
Yes it is a shame we don’t have any other mention in the games of this survival mode Echo-216 brings up, but we do have some mentions of it from the books and how it works. This what I have been told so this might not be true.
Yes
Finally
If there was any mention of it within books I haven't heard of it. The best i think the suit could pull off is placing Chief into a coma while keeping him alive through the use of recycling but I dont think it could stretch it out for 6 months.
Perhaps it’s because Master Chief wasn’t moving through out those 6 months and his organs don’t have to much because of the lack of gravity in space so that probably means that though out those 6 months he was use very little energy so his body doesn’t need to eat as much. I am mostly likely wrong.
Has to be another reason. 6 months is simply to long no matter how you slice it in my opinion but i dont think its a subject 343 is going to dive into
Yeah I agree with that.
It makes sense
But it is still fun to speculate
I would like to see 343 add a UNSC version of the banished
Maybe lost colonies that sat out the war or something?
so the insurrectionists?
kind of
I realized. Halo takes place in the far future. They’ve colonized planets far from earth. But we never hear about mars. What happened to mars?
It was terraformed and colonized pretty early in the Halo universe
It may be colonized
It seems around 2080!
The ODSTs and Misriah Armory both have major facilites located on the planet.
It’s the primary shipyard for UNSC ships to be built
That’s basically it
Forerunners also call it Edom, so there’s that
Hooray for mars
🎉
halo universe is very optimistic about the near future, not so much about 500 years in the future though
I love Edom!!!!!!
Yes if the insurrectionists had an army of Spartans
Have the people in Halo achieved time travel?
They are able to time travel at a rate of 1 second per second.
In a traditional forward and back way. No
In a weird one places time is slower in a "bubble" than outside it. Yes
There was that slipspace crystal incident
That was
- An anomaly.
- Time dilation where time went different for people in the anomaly range.
It wasnt timetravel
In a traditional sense
The endless I believe so
Most likely not
Idk I might be wrong
There was time dilation when the Onyx shield world was out of normal space as well. But there’s no time travel as sci-fi generally treats it.
lets be honest here is back to the future an accurate depiction of time travel??
im not sure
no more than the people who say die hard isnt a christmas movie
BECAUSE IT IS!
Not particularly but given no one we know has time travelled it’s mostly about consistency in the universe rather than what’s “real” or not.
fair enough
I’m still not sure why there was the time discrepancy with First Strike though. I’m guessing it was a last minute thing where The timeline of Halo 2 shifted, and it was easier to do that to keep things fitting with the game?
The Glasslands one is easy to explain as they wanted the characters out as fast as possible.
Curious if Nylund had any outlines for where he would have taken that story.
i would agree
only because how do you account for a C-709 longsword getting all the way back to earth??
AND in time to prevent a climactic battle that wouldve resulted in the loss of the home fleet, the orbital defense grid AND earth
also
"that don't look like any eneven elephant to me...more like 2 squid kissing"
Hmm
It’s possible that the forerunners were able to
But I doubt anyone would use time travel due to paradoxes
yeah time travel creates a multiverse...because any action can have an infinite number of reactions...even inaction can have lasting percussions
For better or for worse Ilovebees is still treated as canon
my man
watch this, we can time travel, close ur eyes for a split second and open them, its called blinking apparently
Blinking forward in time
I kinda hope it's Canon that Jorge became a samurai, even if it's just conjecture from a multi-player skin.
well...red bull gives me wings, idk about you
...Why?
Time travel
Why do I hope that? Cause I like Jorge
Jorge is pretty cool
Plus it'd be ironic if the dude with the most over the top death survived
Mhm
Time travel is handled differently in different fiction works
is it possible to run xemu on a weak-ass pc
Wtf happened between the end of Halo 3 and the start of Halo Infinite for Brutes and Elites to just
Be chill with each other?
I'm pretty sure the last time they interacted, the Brutes were trying to commit genocide against the Elites
And I haven't played 5 yet, so if it's explained there, don't tell me
The Banished broke away from the Covenant before the schism, so the two species within had no real qualms with each other. Others would later join them, seeing them as "other" compared to Thel or Jul
Atriox held no loyalty to Tartarus, or obviously any of the Hierarchs
Have you played infinite?
Depends, you want spoilers?
||In the post credits, its revealed he's alive, but on another section of the ring where he uses a forerunner device to unlock an area where the Endless were put away and awaken them||
||To be fair, it's barely even a spoiler he's still alive, it was always highly unlikely they'd kill Atriox off so suddenly.||
True, but now and again I play it safe with the newcomers
How long do you think lasky was acting captain until he was made the permanent captain of the infinity
Probably like 4 years
However long between launch and Requiem
Oh I didn’t realize you said acting captain
I like how the sentinels comeback in halo infinite

Even if are like grunts or elites

According to lore, Harambe is reborn with every firing of the halo ring.
jorge was cringe, man thought a slipspace bomb was the only way to yeet a cso and went through with it instead of just luring the cso to be in range of an odp with 'forerunner McGuffins'
To be fair
That was Kat's idea
didnt hear any other suggestions from noble
ok ok ok so first off i havent read the books and ive had this question for a long time regarding a famous tweet im sure you all know about, you must get asked this question alot in this chat and i know its annoying. I have taken note of these facts and still decided to ask this. does the suit really do the thing that one tweet i know you know im talking about to whoever is wearing it
its a question ive had for a long time and im sorry
It does not
the forerunner McGuffin thing is kind of a stretch sure but they didnt even consider the odps
It’s not explicitly stated that it does that, but heavily implied
Sauce here
You do know that's not an actual book screenshot, right
There is nothing else
That was a fake passage to make people think that thing was real.

sus
die now
the only source you should use is from halo alpha
I wish
lmao
Noted
💀
i mean you can if you want to
dont blame me if you get a krapton amount of lore wrong
Damn
although, halo alpha does have a 64 kiloton calcs for a frigate macs that pedia technically doesnt
i mean it does have it just no one did the calcs for it
Aight
Really? I swear I remember actually seeing that while reading fall of reach
Nope! It's a manufactured memory
"Tartarus...the Twitter has betrayed us."
I blame YouTube
I dont see why people would believe it anyway
I don't think it's that unreasonable. If there's one thing I've learned it's that confidently saying something incorrect will still get people to believe you even if it's entirely false.
So on top of being very juvenile comedy that seems to sit well with the same crowd that thinks the best way to handle characters they don't like is to kill them off and probably won't read the source material anyway...
Kinda the same crowd that doesn't actually care much for lore anyway
The fake screenshot sure didn't do anything to help either.
L
Gonna be honest, the faked book passage actually made me question if it was real or not the first time I saw it.
Like I was pretty confident it was fake but it’d been long enough since the last time I’d read The Fall of Reach that there was a little bit of doubt in my mind.
I actually did flip open my copy quickly after seeing that post early lol
Because they felt like it
Because it’d be funny when people bought it
^
Fair
No wonder MC stuck with Cortana so much, after all.
💀
how would the mjolinir suit react if a humanoid robot wore it?
It wouldn’t react at all
It'd need to be set up specifically to interact with the neural interface of the suit, for one.
The MJOLNIR armor was designed to move according to what the wearer thought about
For example, instead of actually moving your arm, all you’d need to do in order to move a finger within the MJOLNIR armor is to think about moving it
ah ok
The MJOLNIR suits are essentially second skins for the wearers. They're moved as if they're their own bodies within.
^
Np
Has an AI been given a robot body?
Closest thing to that in Halo is the Warden Eternal
Can an AI take control over a spartan suit?
Nope
They can interface with it tho
Makes sense
^
Also helping them run faster and all that jazz
ok
Ok thank you for the information.
Np
Does anyone find it weird in halo 3 chief stops truth from firing the ring, then fires the ring
He stopped Truth from firing the entire Halo Array and prevented everything in the galaxy from dying.
He stopped the firing of all the rings. He then proceeded to fire a incomplete ring that wouldn't do the above
Hey can anyone answer this for me?
What exactly do the banished want in Infinte?
And why are they dead set on killing humanity exactly??
They want to reconstruct the ring along with the harvenger to free the endless and make themselves the ruler of whatever galaxy they exist in
As well as help take revenge on the forerunners somehow
But thats more harvenger than banished
Wait… what? So is this basically they want to rule the galaxy and humans won’t let that happen, and that’s their beef with us?
Its a few things.
A. As previously mentioned, the Banish wants control of the Ring and by extension the galaxy which Humanity is currently in the way
B. Cortana blew up the Brutes homeworld and blames humanity.
C. Some lowkey beef against humanity due to the events in Halo Wars 2
monke planet go boom so monke want revenge and decide to do bigger boom
also there was an ai uprising at some point
question mark

Oh my god! Finally! Finally an answer that makes sense! Thank you Spartan. You did me a solid
I'll call and raise you Guilty spark getting a promethean body in the novels.
Technically if the banished want to fire zeta halo they need the index and a reclaimer
Swiggity Swooty... The banished are coming for human booty.
I guess its a good thing The Mantle stopped being a thing
https://twitter.com/BrendanLorLowry/status/1490602159234117632?t=co2AiB0aF5p6PqXZh94CQA&s=19
Like the original intentions of The Mantle was clouded and corrupted by temptation and conquest of all factions alike
Someone made a good point about sharing the Mantle too...if you think about it does feel like some sort of...Covenant
In fact its like the Forerunner saga showed thay Humanity (via ONI), the Created, the Forerunners and the Covenant are four sides of the same coin
I don't like how we simply forgot about the plot itself entirely. At some point I want to see a proper conclusion to it.
In fact think the Banished wouldn't be interested in the Mantle of Responsibility...turns out they lead by example better tham the other factions by giving those who wish to be a part of the Banished to join by choice and there are examples of that
The covenant ignored the mantle because they were only concerned with the afterlife (I.e. great journey). Holding the mantle would require them to remain in the material plane
Damn nerd talk on deck lmao
I mean I dunno what you were expecting from the channel literally with “lore” in its name
If they haven't retconned it, the Banished are one of the worst examples. Since they've done things like kidnap grunts and then abuse them and kill them, torture huragok, placed elites on suicide missions out of revenge, etc.
can't believe they put lore in #lore-and-universe
Damn writers ruining my game about shootin aliens with words and the like
That is true, but I can't help but think about the Silent Shadow and Castor willing to let humans join the Banished. Credit where credit is due, I guess.
Truth was firing to wipe out all life chief fired the halo to kill the flood
The new one was too far out of the galaxy to affect the others and restart the array as a whole. That's why chief could activate it with no problems, where Truth had attempted to activate the halo array in the galaxy
is red vs blue cannon in Halo?

No
No.
There's easter eggs about it in the games, but nothing more
Making RvB canon to Halo would be a disservice to both series.
do you guys think Jorge listened to youngboy
I mean, neither has anything to gain from it and they'd just be constraining each other because of the differences in their respective universes.
Plus it means there would be a chance of of master chief meeting the reds and blues and if that's so it'll be awesome.
🤨
@obsidian thistle which was the worst part trying to meld? The AI ability stuff? The Sangheili and weird aliens? That the UNSC would entrust any form of military hardware to the Red or Blue team?
The real name of the warthog, obv
How ?
Do you mean puma.
Nah, the chupacabra mate
The biggest issue is the timeline just doesnt meld together at all
Technology also doesnt meld
Maps are totally different in RvB than they are to Halo Canon
Concepts arnt the same
The Energy Sword isnt a key
And countless other stuff
At most. Characters "like" the reds and blues exist. If you count a easter egg on Crows Nest as "quazi-canon". But they are marines
And not the same Reds and Blues
I don't see a problem with 2 storyline Together.
They canonically conflict in a lot of major points and are pretty much entirely incompatible unless you want to ignore major chunks of both.
Are you kidding
What
It makes perfect sense to me.
They’re different timelines
Different events occur
And most importantly
Different genres
Halo is not primarily a comedy
Besides what CIA mentioned, there are multiple other issues, such as the Sangheili "aliens"
i finished infinites campaign and now im really confused lmao
Its simply a funny fan made series
SPOILER (infinites campaign)
||so u know how at the end it shows atriox alive again and chief being forwarded 3 days? how the hell does that work???? like wtf time travel, as if halos universe wasnt already complex, now it opens a thousand more doors||
It's basically just the slow teleport from Half-life 2.
Yeah
dont know half life 2
never heard of it
I can't tell if you're yanking my chain or not
not
Basically, something goes wrong with the teleport machine as Gordon and Alyx escape a deadly situation, and instead of it being instant, it basically takes a very long time to actually get them where they're going, so while it was instant for them, a week had passed.
@gilded mason was that in half life 1 or 2?
Are the books good? I’ve ordered Fall of Reach. Never really looked into Halo beyond the games 🙂
The books are quite excellent, and do well building up the universe of halo. Ultimately comes down to personal preference though with some books
2, while escaping Nova Prospekt
Ah ok
Can’t wait
Would recommend release order to read them as well
That way you get to experience the reason chief and co are at halo in CE, how they returned, then later the intern of what happens elsewhere during halo 2, and further the very reasoning for the war itself
Thanks 🙏
Welcome, also recommend the Forerunner trilogy, which covers the events of the Forerunner-Flood war, and Broken Circle, a story focused on the first years of the Covenant's 3400 existence, and also during the schism
half life 2 sounds a lot like hello neighbor
Not at all
Guy who has only seen The Boss Baby, watching his second movie: Getting a lot of 'Boss Baby' vibes from this...
if you read some of the books that entail forerunner facilities, it isn't a new concept.
while landing on top of chak loks tower...is that a downed guardian in the background??
cuz it looked like one i just didnt know if it actually was
It is
Hi
nice to meet you new to this server but not new to halo
Lol
before you ask NO im not a squeaker...i am a [redacted] year old man child!
K
LOVE me some spongebob
but the real question are you old enough to remember THIS??
i mean i enjoyed it lol
Does amusingly make me wonder though what the Covenant has for recreational sports
i have no idea what that is lmao but it looks a little like rugrats if they were grown up
plot twist: rocket power was actually rugrats all growed up
@loud kestrel was a cartoon series late 90s/early 2000s
Focused on skateboard type scene stuff
yeah skateboarding and surfing was the theme of rocket power
when does the Halo: Bloodline comic take place?
I need help settling a debate with my friends. Since elites have no visible genitalia, how do they reproduce?
Please ban him
He's trolling
YEs
Female Sangheili exist
really makes you
Their armor hides it
that would make sense
Sangheili have cloacas similar to Earth reptiles for reproductive purposes
Female wires are mostly in books
also why do the priests have testicles on their chin?
One makes a cameo in halo 5 as a voice line
is there a source somewhere for this specifically? We're looking for an original source for the info
If I had to guess it'd either be from Halo 3's Bestiarum or Waypoint's old Universe pages.
But I would have to check what Halopedia cites.
Or it might just be an assumption people have made over the years because I'm not seeing anything on Halopedia.
Hrm.
wait before we delve deeper into the mystery of elite reproduction, when does Halo: Bloodline take place
I found where halopedia states it but original source is a missing page from waypoint
shame
ITs as close as we are gonna get
That sounds like it was from Waypoint's Universe pages before the overhaul, which I believe Halopedia does have thorough archives of.
when is the fall of reach?
August 30th 2552
530 years to go, we can do it
I meant like in terms of the games, like before combat evolved or during reach
Both
It happens before Combat Evolved takes place
Yeah, the combat was avoided by slipspace of the pillar of autumn
I know, just making a little joke about it
I know
Aw did I miss the commentary about Sangheili reproductive habits? Darn.
okay so the Sangheili are a very honorable and noble race...does the same apply to procreational habits???
like oh madam tis a lovely day to [redacted] wouldnt you say??
Does master chief have a little straw to drink from in the helmet
Please DM me. I need an expert answer on this.
Yes It is mentioned in halo: oblivion he is thirsty so he drinks some water from a straw
are war games simulations strictly a combat exercise or are there spartans in-lore that view it as a recreational activity
i remember reading somewhere that games of breakout from halo 5 are broadcast across Infinity kind of like a sport
I cant believe I just wrote an 700 word essay of the Arbiter's story while playing warthog run in the background just for a english project
MC opens a small hole in the top of his helmet to drink, his favourite drink is beer evolved
did any post covernant factions join the unsc
Swords of sanghilios is the only one we know of to be friendly with humanity
i mean, how else would there be more sangheili
what?
I said it wouldn't let me
I'm late but they serve both functions
Action and entertainment for the crew and combat training for spartans at the same time
i said it whole and it got deleted and i was confused
tbh the mods must be insane and malding to have banned the harmless deez joke
guys what is that green planet on the halo infinite loading screens
It's Zeta Halo
Lmao is there such thing as fantasy griffball
If the sims can also be entertainment, does that mean there's sport seasons or whatever
What happened before reach?
the big bang
the precursors travelling to other galaxies
the precursors get 360 no scope by the forerunners
the precursors become coke/flood/stasis/unalive
the forerunners fight super space monke after super space monke for some peculiar totally not drugging their dogs with random space coke and causing a flood outbreak to spread throughout their empire reason start to invade forerunner territory
the forerunners get boned in the but by super space coke precursor/flood and chose to seppuku the galaxy
the super space monke who are now just monkes after losing to the forerunners are realive along with lizards, raptors, crabs, flies, monkes etc
the race whose heads looks like a male end has a surprise visit from top 10 anime betrayal character forerunner ai which would later result in the formation of the cov when some male end headed dude yeeted off their home planet
the monkes have some wars, revolutions, technological advancement etc here and there and at some point those monkes got off their rock and bought their conflicts to space
🤭
the monkes who we now shall dub as humans as to avoid any confusion have a big big civil war after a big big peace time
the humans (the ones that matter anyways) meet space raptor, decide to have talks and it all goes down the drain from there
🤭🤭🤭
the human's military big boi military planet known as Reach gets found or something
there's your answer
🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
you werent specific so i decided to give you a summed up history of halo just to be sure
Hey thank you for answering my straw question. Do you think it was a straight or a curly straw though.
the forerunners also found a random race that can survive their engagement rings yet cant survive bullets which is kinda funny since precursors tech like star roads can survive practically anything except the seppuku arrays get locked up by the forerunners and then forerunners bail from the galaxy
Top 10 anime betrayals again??!!! (nOT clickBaIt) 😱 😱
thats sounds like the most amazing thing, show off some halo love man!
reproducing asexually? (at least i think thats the term?)
if they could just clone themselves then why do they have different voices and such
i never said clone lmao
but that's how it works
if an organism reproduces by itself with no involvement of a female/male organism,it will be a 100% clone of the parent
have you slept on your biology classes ?
no lmao, if it worked that way they wouldnt have their own personalities
they wouldnt be their own person
use some logic man, cloning is just 100% unlikely for the entire populations
that's why i'm saying that they do not "clone" themselves like that
you need a male sangheili and a female ssangheili to have a new one
try explaining this to star wars clones
Except... they would?
Cloning just results in identical genetics, it doesn't necessarily determine every aspect of an individual.
Identical twins aren't the same person, even if they're genetically the same.
u can have 2 white parents and turn out with dark skin or the other way around, it doesnt 100% base from the genetics
i dont know how it works but these things happen
...Stuff like that happens because of genetics.
That is still genetics
Did you sleep through the parts of biology that went over dominant and recessive alleles?
well wtf then, so elites reproducing asexually, they do not clone themselves
i didnt do biology
so elites reproducing asexually, they do not clone themselves
That is the same thing, basically
As said
Identical twins have different personalities
What am I reading.
Chimera did not lie, Sangheili reproduction techniques is way better than "Destiny bad"
What? There are female Sangheili, but they reproduce asexually? Confusion.
What the heck is this chat. Thanks Chimera…
i thought they had eggs
Sangheili have no external reproductive organs. Female Sangheili are oviparous meaning they do not give live birth.
So 🥚
🙂
think of it as how chicken have babies
yes guys its all chimeras fault he did everything bad that has ever happened to this channel
....what the heck? Sangheili reproduce via eggs, like a reptile in real life.
What are the giant blue lights on the outside of Halo rings? Are those part of the defense systems it has?
I believe they were revealed as that, yes
How do they reproduce without sausages?
I’m surprised theres music and sound effects in The Cole Protocol audiobook
What do you mean by sausages? Like food to give them energy?
Like I mean "sausages"
Male things if you will
Fingers?
they spit 🍑
The same way real Earth reptiles do
🥖 by copy pasting dolly the sheep
Sure
i have a feeling half the people in chat have no idea wtf dolly the sheep is
the what now? is a male sausage some sort of limb?
I can't tell if y'all are pretending or not regarding this.
lmao
I’ve hated every single part of this overly drawn out conversation
soooo
Saaaame
how is chat today?
Certainly something
Ah, so it's the usual
stuff about male sausages, which i believe refers to the neck?
i got bored and someone said elites reproduce asexually
...
Lore chat is certainly having a normal one, today
ya lets talk more lore
Certainly one way to put it
lore chat is rich with ingredients today
so... spartans
can they still have babies?
Yes
specifically for female ones, cause they probably have some sort of deeper wounds
...Yes
so how did this start again
^
Which part
up here
then scroll down to now
ah because someone asked if there was female elites
Because somebody thought, for some reason, not showing "stuff" in a game meant there was no "stuff"
without me instigating the thing this glorious convo would never have happened lmao
See now this is the reason we need a Halo dating sim title
Halo Intimate, yes
LMAO
Wasn't in halo 5 a female elite voice during one of the missions tho?
Yes
Exactly
And there have been quite a few female Elites in the books
Is this seriously still a topic?
that could be halo wars 3
been going on all day
It ain't happening, let it go
idk but i can say as a dude who did biology here and there it's incredibly dumb
I honestly don't know how stupid people have become...
It is pretty flabbergasting, yes
lmao
Some people just don't have geas ok? Smh my head
and yet all of u still sit here talking about the topic, whether its saying good or bad things about the topic ur talking about it
keeping it going
Pretty sure you continued it
yes lets continue it lmao, keep talking about it
k, speaking of irrelevant topics how powerful are the infinity's shields
At least 2
;-;
Is it really that? I thought it was some sort of gravity thing to keep the halo not drifting out of orbit
more than enough to ram a ship without any damage
ye ik
why do they even have guns then?
they should seriously build ships just to be battering rams
with like a 100 man crew maybe
the enemy ships can just press a reverse and keep firing at the ships
make them smaller and faster
Guns are useful because they can kill things from far away. Regular ramming is just mass suicide.
it's a heavier bullet
to stop missiles

so like the hammer head corvette in star wars?
Instead of gunowder inside you have a crew ship
uh what?
Flares only do so much against tracking weapons as you close in and they’re useless against dumbfire weapons.
also if you want it smaller and faster, the lighter the armor will be
flares only stop the big hits
little hits dont matter
Yeah, and what are they gonna do if a ship levels a glassing cannon at them?
so ill try to expand on this idea a little more specifically give me a moment
so just drop a emp, they lose shields, then pick them off one by one
Their shields are gonna go poof and the ship is going to be nothing more than a memory.
copy paste the infinity and have a 169 megatons to teraton shields that can just sit in one spot for 7 hours being glassed
small frigate class ship, extremely heavy armor with the most powerful shielding available, the front of it would be quite point maybe a strong gun in the center to really help drive the ship through
idea: its small, fast, toughest kind of durable, can ram straight through a ship
and maybe if its possible, slipspace jump into a covenant ship
speaking of
is it possible to slipspace jump into a covenant ship?
Human slipspace drives aren’t capable of the precision required for that
im sure if they worked harder into that they could make it that way, not all the best minds of humanity are working on slipspace, halsey doesnt
A Covenant or Forerunner drive could probably pull it off, but a human-made one would be incredibly inconsistent about it
how would they be able to achieve a burst of speed
something that is possible for them
one that can nearly instantly ram the into a covenant ship in a space battle
I mean, if they drop out of slipspace right by a Covenant ship they’d maintain their velocity from inside slipspace.
so ur saying my idea of a battering ram ship is possible?
they might not have perfect precision with slipspace but it wouldnt be too hard to drop just before the ship
can somebody convey this idea to someone that builds the halo lore? however that works...
I've been thinking, if snipers, shotguns, magnums, and plasma weapons are so powerful, why didn't the unsc equip marines with em en masse?
Cuz it's expensive?
i guess they probably could
maybe the expensive thing is my best guess
modify a scorpion or something for that
but i guess thats what the hannibal scorpion does but better
Fair enough
Shotguns have a low range and snipers are terrible in close quarters
Magnums are a gameplay thing and the unsc can’t mass-produce plasma weapons
With the plasma weapons, I meant the unsc could steal them from the battlefield
Also, are brs only powerful in-game too?
In lore an unarmoured brute can take a sniper rifle shot to the head and be fine
Brs are probably still pretty good in lore
Don’t think they can power them
So when battery runs out
Possible, sure.
Good idea, absolutely not.
hey so with slipspace
hows that work?
is it increased speed or decreased length of the trip
@unique rune
or star wars hyperspace (i think)
Kinda
cause i want to know if when u go in it, u come out at a fast speed
But it’s slower
Nope
In slipspace you’re going the same speed
time is the same as well i think
But you’re in another dimension where it’s smaller
So a foot in slipspace is a bunch of feet in normal space
Physics stop most everything else
slap on better fusion engines
or slingshot off a planet and slipspace
is that something they already have the tech for tho?
no need for slipspace the idea is for a close range fight
but potentially maybe slingshot off a planet might work, if their close enough anyways otherwhys they can dodge it
idk apparently a destroyer can only travel 3km/s bar slingshotting
im not going to bring up the in amber clad cause reasons
Ramming isn’t effective for resources
ya, although the issue isnt surviving the ram, its being able to actually touch them
if their fast enough to dodge and continue firing whats the point
i mean if you can survive the ram you can basically survive most cov weaponry
assuming you're ramming with shields and not copy pasting what three destroyers did during cole's last stand
so a planetary slingshot wont really work...
although i feel like if u could learn to manipulate gravity
that could become the new type of engine
use gravity to propel the ship
there's a reason why i didnt want to bring up in amber clad
search up fusion drives on halopedia and check the notes section
ok?
u know i just realized the spirit of fire was built as a colony vessel
and was refitted for military purposes during the human-covenant war
on the cover of rubicon protocol, you can see horvath, stone and kovan, but the in the logs it showed that horvath never saw kovan or stone on zeta, and he was alone on the ring the whole time, looking for his team and survivors
