Ive heard its the only halo for abt 10 years to come though
Which would be a mistake
the story didn't end properly, there is waay much scope for the saga
I heard there will expansion for story
Theres gotta be DLC, theres an entire area of the map thats inaccessible
I wouldn't mind if I had to buy it.
Microsoft, a monee company have brains not to do that mistake
Same
nicee
Exactly
I hope we explore a little bit of MasterChef time scape.
but 10 years.... the are going to lose a fanbase
I want is face reveal
doom dude already got a voice reveal
its time for the chief
It would make sense to have his helmet remove when deleting Cortana.
Apparently their statement was that they want Halo Infinite to "last 10 years"
And evolve
Constant updates and content
Still sounds like they mean it would be the only halo for 10 years
Imgine he removes his helmet and another helmet appears
Though i doubt they would do that necessarily, if people start moving away
maybe what they cold do is get the money from microtransactions and build the current infinite game?
True
if not
I want some outer storyline of halo in every season of multi like Fortnite
but killing off halo will be a shame on microsoft
halo is the face of xbox
they made an AI called cortana also
and sometimes, there could be spinoffs
Master Chief removes his helmet to reveal he was Noble 6 this entire time; the camera cuts to Master Chief waking up from Cyrosleep on FuD
What happened to all the guardians under cortanas control ? and what happened to captain Laskey did he get back to earth somehow ?
Brohammer is the best character
||destroyed by the Banished apparently. They were just that powerful.||
Damnnn foo. I hate how reckless the whole universe is tho. Something so sacred just to be destroyed by outcasts of a religion based army.
Yeah
Eh. At least they aren’t following evil Cortana anymore.
That’s the third villain they’ve thrown out so far besides Jul and Didact.
This time i’m glad she’s gone lmao
I just get hella depressed thinking abt it all lmao
I feel like they have expanded the story to the point that it’s gonna b hard to keep writing and have a good public response
Same lol
They dug themselves into a little pit.
I hope they do more with Atriox.
As in, don’t kill him off
Atriox would make a great recurring villain
Idk lol. I’ve always loved the brutes as an enemy but something just makes me wish we could have more games like 2 and 3. Might just be my love for the elites after that legends animation abt the past arbiter. I just feel like the game is still good but the lore and story are slowly dying
I mean 2 and cv*
Monke good
Halo 2 as an open world game would’ve been fun
Someone should do that once modding REALLY kicks off-
@fiery moss you know that's one thing that should be put back into multiplayer playable elites
Open world on Delta Halo would’ve been awesome.
Imagine walking into random Flood encounters in the Quarantine Zone
Yeah infinite multiple is good but I feel like they tried to spin off into current culture like the battle pass and more cod style in my opinion.
Fr tho we’re destined to have sum like that ina future
Y e s
@fiery moss from the video I just saw skins for killcams on that game now
Exactly
Like I just don’t feel like I’m playing halo in the multiplayer no more
It’s fun but not the same
Wonder if there's any flood samples still on zeta halo
are the servers still down?
yes
u havent seen the cylix???
Same here. Fun, but im done. I am just a cooperative guy. So warzone would be great. I guess i mellowed with my age and lost my competitive spirit.
Master chief is John from halo changed my mind

I don’t think the evidence lines up
lol Master Chief in the Memory Agent podcast is speaking more in one episode than in the whole Halo Infinite game
Always wondered, do we have any proper strength calcs for the Master Chief and Spartans in general?
Like how much can they deadlift, curl, bench press, etc?
While in armour that is.
(no, gameplay mechanics such as flipping tanks don't count)
What about calculations based off showings in the books and games?
without armor, according to the wiki, they can lift 3 times their body weight.
Well yeah I know that
there aren't any exact measurements I don't believe.
Any smart peeps here done any calculations of their own? 👀
High end wanks are insane
Also do you accept flipping elephants
I dont personally, i think its a fun game mechanic added as a joke
Scorpions can be legit though
Nah flipping tanks and elephants are gameplay mechanics, I'm talking more about actual lore showings.
😐
Are we sure he can flip tanks? I mean that thing weighs 66 tons.
Yeah
Shouldn't he be punching Elites into the sky if he was that strong
i saw that
Hahahaha probably cos of language
I think you're under-estimating what spartans can do.
Elite calcs are insane
Chief has fallen from space and survived because of his armor
Thanks to the elite holding Emile with an outstretched hand
so I don't think it's unreasonable to believe he can flip a tank
In halo reach
Chief never fell from space iirc, only two kilometers
Its actually physically unreasonable
Because the elite shouldve fallen over
Not even because of lack of strength
But the physics just dont work considering how heavy emile is
But it happened, and some elites have the strength to curl an entire spartan
😈
half a ton right?
Yep
I think that Elite was performing a movement more impressive than curling too
Like the way he slid Emile off the energy sword, it was more of a sideways movement
Yeah honestly
he fell from space in halo 4
and survived
Brutes can throw those giant forge crates it halo 3 when enraged
You know, if the Elites in Infinite were like those in Reach, then 343 would have needed to make Brutes even more monstrous to make them look convincingly bigger and stronger hahaha
Darn, and I've been seeing that Chief is a 5-tonner max around on the internet
A spartan could honestly swing a warthog around like a baseball bat
There was this dude on HaloWaypoint that calced ~15 tons bench press for Chief though
Yeah the high end calcs are just weird
It makes the halo legends feats look normal
Also the spartan in that one episode shouldve never been able to catch an overhand swing from a chieftans gravity hammer
🗿
Legends is iffy with its canon
teehee
I think only one episode was deemed non canon
The rest were canon
I forget which one
Spartan 1337
Ah
Origins 2 cant be canon
Good
it got information wrong
Honestly, I've always had an issue when it came to Halo's depiction of Spartans in visual media. This includes games, shows, etc.
With the way Spartans are described to move around in Halo: The Fall of Reach, all visual depictions we've seen have been quite disappointing.
I see what you mean
Ghosts and warthogs shouldnt splatter brutes
It would be cool af to see chief running at top speed in one of the games
Even elites unless the speed is maxed
Even in Halo Infinite for example. It was cool to see Chief throw actual, proper punches in his fight against Atriox, but he still moves and reacts quite slow in that fight (and in his brief fight against the Harbinger) compared to how his speed and reaction time are described in the books.
The impact should honestly damage warthogs
When it comes to the harbinger it might be more understandable
Its supposed to be some weird pre ecumene creature
Nobody knows
When it comes to atriox, yeah i guess
Brutes are supposed to be insanely fast too
I mean, I'm fine with Atriox beating Chief in a fight but I would prefer the visual depiction to be more impressive.
Theyre like 4000 lbs of muscle fibers from a planet with more gravity
They should be running like Virginia from John Carter of Mars
I would imagine you could construct a horror movie around a group of humans trying to survive one Brute lol
I mean, those things consume flesh, have multi-ton strength, are extremely fast and worst of all, they're just as sentient as humans are.
And yes, not to mention their size.
Agree
Imagine the balls Johnson had to actually willingly punch one in the abdomen in Halo 3
Id rather fight a wampa with my bare hands
Then again we really dont stand a chance against either
You know, if it ever came down to it, I think I'd rather fist fight a Jackal than a Grunt.
Maybe i'll take the brute because the hit is a guaranteed insta kill
Same
Its the only covenant species we stand a chance against
Jackals seem vicious but also a bit flimsy. Quite skinny.
They have hollow bones
Yeah and that
Like birds
they're very similar to avians yee
Id be more wary of their beaks
Grunts may be shorter than us but their stockiness and chitinous skin may give them an edge in strength and durability
Do they have talons?
they have teeth
Cause that would be like a human trying to fight a larger cassowary
Those things can kill humans as it is
Hm
Their fingers do edge in sharp tips but I'm not sure if that constitute talons
I think Skirmishers may be more difficult to go up against
Are they physiologically different from jackals?
I thought they were both the same kig-yar
they deffo seem a bit more tanky
Ive always wanted a halo about normal marines
ODST is probably the closest your going to get
Unfortunately yeah
The mechanics basically just felt like you were playing a slightly less jumpy and damagy spartan
If we played as a normal marine I think the only change would be like always having no shields and bad melee
Everything
Simply overcharging a plasma pistol would be a difficult task
Shooting any covenant weapon larger than a carbine wouldnt be feasible
Necessarily; accurately
jackals range from 6'3 to 6'9 they're huge.
at least compared to the average human size.
nvm then lmao
there was a marine killed by one in hand to hand during halo 4 (well you can stop it from occuring)
it pounces on him
A jackal also used its shield to fling a 350 lb object away from them with barely any effort.
Wtf
I didnt know they got up to 6'9
I thought they were like 5'6 to 6'5
That's from the pov of a seven foot tall man
That and jackals crouch a lot
💀
Just finished the campaign a few hours ago but something is bugging me, anyone knows how did the chief survived for 6 months in space without food, water or being in cryogenic sleep?
Survival mode feature in his armor, Fernando mentions it in the beginning.
This seems to be a popular topic. Theory is that his new suit has an updated survival mode which could possibly cryo him without the negative effects of freezer burn
Chief ignores freezer burn anyways
Is Fortnite canon
In the Halo universe...? Going to say... no...
Lol
Do Mjolnir Helmets have microphones and auto translator?
When Arbiter says ‘We’re it so easy’ at the end of Halo 3 do you guys think he’s implying that he thinks chief isn’t dead or what?
ope sorry didn’t mean to interrupt
No. Chief goes to kill him and responds with "if it were do easy" because if it were, he'd be dead by now
Because, if we see Halo Reach every spartans sounds muffled, and Chief's voices is clear as a blue sky
no. the end of halo 3. he says it in two contexts once at the beginning and once at the end
when they think chief is dead
If mjolnir helmets have it i’d assume other spartan helmets do too. could just be lower quality or something
He implies that chief isn’t someone easy to kill, so he was very much alive but lost
yeah. because like the commander says that chief is dead and arbiter responds with ‘were it so easy’ which i take as ‘he ain’t actually dead because if it was that easy none of this would have happened’ which if i remember correctly is the same way he meant it at the beginning of the game
No, it was a meme
Does masterceif likee sandwhiches?
Yes
do master chief ever feel scared?
Yes
I didnt even know he could feel scared
He's not an automaton, after all.
somtimes you can't just tell
There was a funny moment in Shadow of Reach where a hotshot pilot scared him by flying a pelican in an extreme fashion
Which also ended up saving Blue Team from an unexpected mass aerial ambush
Does master chief pay child support?
to who
Think about it. The grunts. He murder slot of grunt through out halo and grunts have wife and kids don't they?
One thing that hurts me when playing Halo infinite is grunts screaming when you meele or kill them. I think about there past and what happened to them... I feel bad. But there funny too. So yeah. I love grunts.
What if the arbitrary found himself a wife and have kids?.
Have any other Spartan started family yet?
What happened to MasterChef team in halo 5 were they team blue or red?
master chief is originally in blue team
Ostral and serpremem cheese i need answers. Ur my only hope u guys are the lore and universe i know
you could just google it
Yeah ur right.
He has children, yes. And at least two SIIs had children or desired children.
Wow
yo so can anyone gimme a basic rundown of the different levels of flood outbreak/forms
Did you just answer your own question? Imao
Halopedia.org exists, y'know?
Feral stage (Halo Ce and halo wars 2)
•no gravemind or just proto-gravemind
•flood does not fight with strategy
•generally Only combat forms, carriers, and infections forms
•goal is to collect as much biomass as possible to further stages and create a gravemind
Coordinated Stage (halo 2 and 3)
•gravemind is formed
•fights with strategy
•pure flood forms can be created
•goal is to continue to grow, adapt and learn.
@versed helm
bet
Halo 3 then Halo odst or the other way around
If Master Chief has children, let's be real here, they're entire life would just lead up to being Spartans
Why?
Either because A.) ONI still wants that sweet sweet Master Chief/Spartan II DNA or B.) They feel an obligation to live up to the legend and legacy that is their dad the same way normal people sometimes feel obligated to join the military the way their dad and grandad etc did
Man, we need a Halo where we play as marines and go through the different battles of the human-covenant war
I honestly think the next generation of Spartans won't even use real people though. I think it'll be a matter of using neurolinks, telecommunications, and a really good robot body
Like ODST, but actual marines, and rather than be alone, have 4 to 5 npc buddies
See, this would be cool but what I envision is a Rising Storm 2 or ARMA type game
1st is correct
Maybe just a vr experience where you get to explore the Infinity
The multi-player part of it would be like, almost everyone starts as a marine or a grunt and then Spartans and Elites deploy on the map which you play as
But they'd be limited
It wouldn't be as arcadey
Alot more tactical and reserved
Your health would be low and one good shot could take you out
Then the Spartans come and you get that
"Oh my God! A spartan! We're saved!" Moment
Maybe like enlisted?
Players have an ai squad with them, and can each call on reinforcements
And maybe it'd be insurrectionists vs unsc, idk
Hey can someone list me comic since Halo 5 Halo wars 2 Halo Infinite? Thanks!
I really want a list of timeline since 5 to infinite
Well if your talking chronologically then odst then halo 3
After Cortana’s AI coup? The UNSC is going to be extra paranoid about equipment, particularly Spartans, that could be remotely run without direct human control
Also the current head of ONI, Serin Osman, is a Spartan-II child recruit who suffered side effects of failed augmentation and absolutely HATED the Spartan-II program’s forced recruitment of child soldiers.
So any sort of ‘Born to be Spartan’ program is not getting approved by her at the very least.
The Spartan-IV program by contrast doesn’t have the baggage of ‘we crossed massive ethical lines in getting recruits’
…anymore anyway
Is there a website with all the halo lore in one spot
You could start here perhaps, it's a decent and quick summary.
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-story-so-far/1100-6498748/
Or here's a video as well, it's a long one though and still doesn't cover everything there is to know such as the early history of the Precursors / Forerunner etc.
It wouldn't necessarily be a "your dad was a Spartan so you have to be too" type deal since becoming a Spartan is consensual now. It would be more of family-business type deal and being able to augment and train someone right out of highschool is alot faster than having to give someone basic training, then send them to special forces training were they might washout, then get them actual combat experience then augment them
If they washout, then they weren’t meant to even be in the program
Nepotism isn’t suited for passing someone who wouldn’t be able to aid their team properly
Also, fitting the whole ‘no way current ONI would approve’
Serin Osman probably wouldn’t look too fondly on ‘family connection’ Spartan program
And if it’s not clandestine, then it goes to Spartan Musa, who also probably isn’t keen
Thats what I'm saying. There's alot of variables to getting someone to the point of even being considered for being a Spartan IV. If the Spartan 2.5's work like the 1.5's, then you already have a candidate a good chunk of the way there. The only thing they'd have to do is get them to sign the dotted line to go to UNSC bootcamp
And they could still washout
Also the variable for Spartan-IV is a lot more relaxed because of improvements to the augmentation candidacy and safety record of said augmentation
So the Spartan-IV program already gets to be picky
Now if a theoretical ‘2.1’ happens to demonstrate extraordinary ability, then no problem, they’d probably get the program if they were offered and wanted it.
But why should the UNSC gamble on expensive augmentation and equipment before actually seeing if the will and capability are present?
Potential spoiler for Halo infinite so I don't know if this is the right channel but I will mark it as spoiler
||so all the way back in the last book of the forerunner trilogy Halo silentium right as the array is being fired I think it's either the librarian or 343 guilty spark they mention a civilization reaching out just before being silenced by the rings and I got to thinking that was probably the endless.||
@warped thunder #485883236430512168
He doesn't need to go in there. The spoiler ban was lifted a few days ago
Anyway, I feel that ||It would be much too coincidental and kinda be something that just makes the galaxy feel smaller||
That’s why the GEN 2 MJOLNIR was created, so that the IV’s, after augmentation, could be somewhat on par with the II’s, hell even the III’s.
Can someone list the comic where it explains how Jun survived in halo reach? Could be fanfic but I want it
He escorted Dr Halsey off of Reach
Can't believe it was a dune prequel this whole time
Bruh || how are there no flood in infinite||
I know it’s just a game mechanic, but how would you implement respawning into Halo lore?
(Campaign and multiplayer)
MP - simulator war games
Campaign - alternate timeline where player dies or lives
it would defeat the point i think
Technically there is… it’s one of the… Xylax, I believe?
||Is the family we see in the hologram in halo infinite actually the pilots family?
Because he stole the pelican and he said he had no one left for him||
(Halo infinite spoilers)
|| I believe they truly are his family, and that they possibly died. Let’s not forget that when Cortana created the “Created” hundreds, if not thousands of AI defected to her. Stands to reason civilians got caught in the cross fire. Or they died beforehand, or maybe even on the infinty||
||that could be why he is so scared of the weapon in the early game aswell||
||Exactly. She’s a carbon copy of Cortana, so how would you react?||
And it’s not been too long since the end of the Human-Covenant war
There is no media that explains how Jun survived the Fall of Reach. You might be thinking of the Fistful of Arrows fan comic, but even that doesn’t do anything to elaborate on how he made it off the planet.
are you talking about when they came out or when they take place? because odst takes place during halo 2 and a little bit after i believe. halo 3 is after
I thought he leaves in the Pillar of Autumn with Halsey. or maybe a different ship i don’t remember
wasn’t that basically in the game?
No. It’s never shown.
A266 is given orders to escort Halsey to Castle Base but everything after that is unknown.
Are there any halo lore novels, kinda like how Warhammer has books?
There are a ton of them, over 30 something books plus a bunch of comics.
Thank god
I was dad that fallout didn't have any
Can you tell me which ones they are?
I was disappointed with that too
https://www.halopedia.org/Halo_novels
I own and have read basically all of them in the order they were published, but if wanting to start really from the beginning go with the Forerunner triology of Cryptum, Primordium and Silentium. I know I answered this for somebody somewhere once but I had them all listed in chronological order too, I'll get back to you if I find that. @hoary patio
Ok so for the very very beginning it's those 3 forerunner books
By chronological order, yeah, but they’d probably be better experienced going by publication/release order.
https://www.beyondvideogaming.com/en/article/all-halo-books-in-order/
This is another list with them in order of publication.
I couldn't seem to find my answer with them all in chronological order however so I'll leave this even though it's not as neat of an answer as mine was. So you can start either with the history of the Forerunners / Precursors etc in the 3 books I named above or jump right into the Human / Covenant war era of events with Halo Contact Harvest, Cole Protocol, Battleborn / Battleborn Meridian divide or skipping to Fall of Reach, Silent Storm, Oblivion, The Flood and so on.
https://www.beyondvideogaming.com/en/timelines/halo-timeline-everything-in-chronological-order/ @hoary patio
I see
Does anyone have an answer for what exactly happened to Chief when he did the evolution thing in 4? I might have missed it in game but did it ultimately matter after the Didact?
I don't think anything's really come of it since.
No mention of it in 5 or Infinite thus far.
Don't think any of the auxiliary media has ever touched on it either.
The Librarian made John immune to the effects of the Composer is the obvious part but beyond that its not entirely clear I think what else was done if any at this point.
That’s all it did
But A crucial turning point don’t you think
And who knows might come in handy again
Cool. My wife's been watching all the cutscenes from CE up since beating Infinite and she asked and I couldn't remember it being mentioned again.
The cut scenes to four and five there’s more
But yeah the voices
Echos
That’s all there except cortina’s
Is Gen 3 Mjolnir a downgrade from Gen 2. Because it kinda seems like it. At least from a multiplayer perspective.
And Cortana mainly speaks on what happened right before chief woke up
That six months
I keep saying I can see a dead guardian on the shattered part of a ring
Guess we will need to wait and see on an answer for that exactly
It's supposed to be an upgrade. Gameplay mechanics aren't necessarily representative of actual canon stats and abilities.
You can clearly see all the wings
I think you may be right , I noticed that too far off in the distance
Sticking out of a chunk
Yes
100%
It almost looks like it was slams through the ring
Yeah, there's a crashed Guardian on a distant chunk of ring. People spotted it in one of the campaign previews and I think Unyshek pretty much confirmed it then.
It’s undeniable
The little accent wing
100% sure that’s the guardian I played enough halo five
Campaign is not fun to play but I still do it for some reason
MP
I had fun
I got one more achievement on xbox to go for it then I think I'll maybe uninstall it to free up some space.
Are they updating the servers because of the extra four players and big team battle?
In*
In multiplayer I’m still not max rank
It’s been six years
😂
Me neither, I was like halfway through 144, not sure if I'll ever get around to finishing that. Especially since I don't know if you can still get that coating anymore as a reward for 152
I'm just hoping for a PC port for Halo 5 at some point.
Real inconvenient to have every game but 5 available on PC.
Oh yeah forgot almost that they didn't do that yet, they should at some point for those wanting to play it
They were the biggest Maps in halo
If they can do co-op then they can definitely get something like that together again
I liked 5s Fiesta mode I believe more, bigger weapon pool was mainly why.
Yeah that playlist was a completely separate project I don’t know if they will just and it
Griff ball five is goat
Agreed and variance
Just finished the campaign… after further research I didn’t realize that so many forerunners survived the halo firing
In this fiesta mood I think they should change up your grenades to
I thought it was like only the didact
Mode
So everybody Spaans in with different grenades considering the weapon list is so short
Spawn
If you read Point of Light there's a few Forerunners too that have lived on as monitors @twilit kite
Yes differing grenades would have been good
Yeah the story of Chakos is really interesting
It’s one of my favorite in the Lord at least
So I assume point of lightHas some interesting elements
Yes it is a good one and his story gets continued in that novel also
That Spotify book was great
Memory agent
I enjoyed that
The hell the UNSC do to that woman 😂
I'm almost thinking speaking of him that he might have encountered the Endless possibly too. Because there was this unknown alien ship that crash landed on his Installation at one point. There was also even earlier some communication reaching out shortly before the Halos were fired from some unknown species
My biggest question with the Halo series in general was, why were the forerunners not indexed so that they could continue their empire
Why bother exiling themselves?
Was it out of shame for their failures?
Perhaps arrogance, or out of shame of what they did to their own creators and then later to other life with the Halos?
They had plans to apparently everything happened so fast they never got to it that’s in ghosts of onyx
The flood
The Forerunners also did have a second Greater Ark meant to protect their species population
That one got overrun and destroyed
Would have been maybe better off with a shield world or something too
That was basically the intent, yeah.
Well I think in the end they took it as this is the position were in because of our failures acceptance isn’t that they didn’t want to
I hope the Didact gets a return in some form someday. It was disappointing how he was defeated in a comic rather than at the end of H4
Would have been a good add on to the story or something as a dlc
Didact 2.0
Think Locke is ded?
I don't think so
I don't think they would go through having Halo Nightfall and then being an important figure in H5 to just being gone
His helmet is on the shoulder pads of a Brute and is Referred to in a propaganda broadcast
But banished lie for glory
So he could be alive
I’ve could’ve just gotten his helmet
They
And they made up the story
Here's a fun theory so the grunt communication guy was singing The halo warthog theme which makes you think that maybe the music plays inside masterchief's helmet in lore and
And the actual monk singing halo theme was confirmed Canon since the prophet of regret (I think) sings it
Dm me the picture
When I found that the halo monk kicked in here I’ll send a video
Yo is there anything worse then the flood?
Doubt it. Its probably just dramatic effect
Is it glutan?
Who’s that? @lavish scaffold any idea
I thought it was Marty
Wait he doesn’t have a beard
I thought maybe it was the monk who did the ohh s since the music kicked in when I found it
I seen an arbiter plushy like it
Well with this whole open world style and finding the artifacts it really makes me feel I’m unlocking the secrets of the halos it’s pretty cool
And why no Skimmer in open world? Or am I just not seeing
They made them super tiny in nightfall
They are described as being made more of like thousands of worms instead of hundreds of thousands
The way they look in game this game is the best I’ve seen them the way they were described
I think you see them in the animated series too
If I remember
Right
I saw a few skimmers open world but it's not common.
When I seen Grut In guardians of the galaxy
That’s closer to what I thought hunters look like
But instead of roots worms
Some were just because of the HVT, but I recall fighting a few in one part of the map which wasn't a mission
Yea maybe
I just don’t see them Enough and to be honest I haven’t really looked
I’m glad Jason is back
Storyboard way better than any destiny or halo todate
The way they connected the linear path story to the open world story is really done well at all feels like halo
So question. Is the Plasma Pistol’s fully charge up attack lethal? All I’ve ever seen it do is incapacitate organics in media.
It’s a blob of ionized superheated gas that burns as hot as a star.
Anything it hits that isn’t shielded or specially armored is going to get some really horrible burns, best case scenario.
Oh so it does actually kill? I saw Halo 2’s day at the beach cutscenes and all did was knock out the elite before the ODST shot it with the BR. I thought because it was EMP it would incapacitate the target.
It overloaded the Elite’s energy shields.
can someone tell me more information about the invisible elite boss in halo infinite? The red and black one. Hes my favorite character and I dont really know alot about halo lore.
Hes a new character, all his lore is in infinite
thanks
Alot of people seem to think they'd be able to take a grunt in a 1v1
Huge
To be fair, it's not like the games give a great impression of the Unggoy.
No way
They look like they're 3ft tall and run away at the slightest provocation, even if they canonically are like 5ft and can rip Spartans' arms off.
Probably shaq o Neil can
Shaq would have a decent chance lmaoo
Goblin can definitely 1v1 a grunt
Im pretty sure our human 7 footers and such could win, but the exoskeleton is still a thing
In a fist fight? You're getting killed
With a weapon of some sort like a sword or a Lance? You're chances are better
A gun? You can definitely take a grunt
I mean with a lance, if theyre unarmed 😂
Cqb is definitely not going favorably to all but the strongest humans
Tfw no Spartan gf
Most are just about the height of an elite, but just barely
Brutes are 9ft tall and some are taller than others
How do you guys feel about a pensioner prophet casually draping 15 pounds from two fingertips with an outstretched arm
And based on that, how strong do you all think a young, healthy san shyuum is? And how would they fare against the other species?
(Sad master Chief sitting)
why do the Banished hate humans so much?
did some humans join the banished in some of the books?
That’s a good question
Even Atriox calls them “little demons”
Play infinite to find out
I still gotta get the campaign
I’m trying to save up
gamepass it
Oh good idea thanks
Does Spartan II and Spartan III programs are different for recruitment?
*What do I mean by that is how they were recruited.
Spartan-II candidates were picked from children noted to have standout physical/mental attributes plus strict genetic screening for augmentation compatibility.
Spartan-III candidates were pulled from war orphans who underwent less stringent genetic screening.
Was there a Spartan I program?
Kinda I think? iirc Sgt. Johnson is a spartan 1
Interesting
They didn't get special armor, they were just more powerful than a standard marine
Ohhh
Spartan one's are "chemically enhanced volunteers from the armed forces"
Spartan 2's and 3's lore is above
Spartan 1's were part of the ORION project
And apparently if a spartan 1 has a child they are knowm as spartan 1.1's
So I probably missed thge canon fodder discussion
Yeah, Orion was only retroactively designated Spartan-I years after. Spartan-II was called Spartan to distance it from Orion’s failures, but the -II was appended on as a tribute to the previous project.
Ok but hang on how about the part where Johnson was even more special being immune to the flood?
Not anymore
They are called Prelates
And they are compared to a Spartan in terms of danger
Augmented with special gear
His augmentations were originally written to have scrambled his nervous system and made it more difficult for the Flood to infect him but it’s since been retconned to just him being That Good.
Spartan-I after all
So no Flood immunity, he’s just good at evading infection.
It would be silly tbh if flood immunity was that simple
Oh? You had chemicals injected so you're a little stronger than usual? Flood infection immunity.
Silly Forerunners, just throw a box full of plasma grenades, then the flood can’t infect you
So the orion project is more effective than whatever the didact did to himself lmao
That’s the official cover story
Seriously ONI, not your best work
Well more to cover up the Orion project
By claiming it was a medical condition
From too many thrown plasma grenades
It fooled Master Chief though.
The implications of that are not great for John’s critical thinking tbh
What would’ve happened if Sgt.Johnson survived?
Probably nothing noteworthy
Would’ve been great to see him or the Arbiter in Infinite
I would have liked to see the Banished have a Scarab on Zeta Halo
Dang imagine the dialogue between Locke and Johnson if Johnson did survive
I dislike halo 5 as much as most of the fandom does but some of its dialogue is really good.
Would have probably told him that Chief just saved them from extinction
Also from what I have seen, Spartan II program include abduction, while Spartan III program include taking orphans affected by war.
In a few rare cases, Spartan-II candidates included orphans, which meant no flash clone was needed for those candidates
Serin Osman being the most notable example
So how did Atriox and the Banished find the Infinity, is it covered in a novel? Also is Infinite after HW2?
Also is Infinite after HW2?
Yep
anyone know the fireteam in the halo infinite multiplayer trailer
I’m pretty sure the lord still says Orion stuff makes him immune however that’s also a perfectly reasonable explanation
And then ||Humanity’s greatest ship is somehow defeated in 4 minutes||
The flood know he’s augmented or something so he’s “Less desirable”
Not anymore.
I’m pretty sure the lord still says Orion stuff makes him immune
Nah. Catalog posts and HW2 phoenix logs make it explicit that no augments can prevent infection
Johnson really is just that good
What about Stacker and Dubbo? I mean, i heard the theories about Dubbo being a precursor, but nothing spectacular about Stacker
Is Grand Edict a new character?
It looks like Jun already possibly had the spartan academy as a location for the spartans to move to, is it possible they may have been able to silently retreat there before the stations destruction?
no
How did the forerunners|| fire the Halos and then discover the endless after if the firing of the rings took out the forerunners? Was it just one ring fired as a test fire?|| Marking as spoiler since I'm not sure if thats allowed here.
||The remaining Forerunners did the firing at the Ark.||
Thanks
I think (don't quote me) Atriox commanded the banished to locate cortana after she ||destroyed their home planet|| and happened to arrive the same time the infinity did
we dont know the specifics about how atriox got where he did
Guys I don’t get how Spartans respawn after they die in multiplayer
I’m pretty sure multiplayer is explained as training for Spartans
From what I remember
Like simulations
||Also is atriox dead?|| not sure what I have to spoiler mark
As of 4 and 5, multiplayer is considered canon as it's spartan training aboard the infinity
I think he means like how can they survive
Getting exploded
Lasered
Shot
Incinerated
Disintegrated
It's probably a vr simulation
Like if we have games like blades and sorcery in vr rn
500 years in the future the physics will probably be more realistic
negative
He was a deacon in the covenant, which for an unggoy is the likely only administrative rank they can hold but still a very low rank in the covenant
He was kidnapped by the banished and for a time served them until he decided to rebel to find some mythical methane mines on the ark
how do peeps think the flood was made?
cause they cant just come from nothing right?
the flood is precursors who turned themslves into powder, over millenia the powder was corrupted, it was found by ancient humanity and used as cosmetics to make their pets of choice prettier and more docile, over generations those pets mutated into the flood
mk then thx.
ok what would have happened if johnson survived 343 guity spark?
in halo 2
He would’ve chilled with chief in the forward unto dawn in 4
Or probably have died later actually
Cause the ship at the end of halo 3 did get ripped in half
He dead for sure
There’s an Easter Egg in 4 that results in a Sargent appearing who might be a reference to him, but it isn’t canon and the Sargent isn’t a direct 1-1
what is Reverie everyone is talking about?
the crashed frigate outpost tremonius is built next to
its the sergeant avery j. johnson somethin
Avery J. Johnson Academy of Military Science
thanks
Who're the endless? The precursors?
Canonically Johnson dead as dirt
Why did Master Chief get into a MCU fist fight instead of disengaging and getting a gun?
Im sure this has been asked before but You guys think Operation Red Flag would have worked? If all went right preceeding the operation and say they captured someone like Truth?
No
The loss of one of the prophets is an inconvenience at worst and an opportunity at best depending on who you look at
The great journey waits for no one brother, not even you
^
Anyone read any of the Enders game books?
I have some interesting ideas about cortana not being dead
Curious to see what you guys think
Bringing her back narratively would be worse then her turning evil in 5 at this point
is the chief even truly human anymore? i heard someone say cortana nessed with his dna and made him a precurser biologically
Whoever told you that was messing with you.
Are you referring to how the librarian activated his latent "gene song"? It was alluded that ALL humans have that dna within them when the librarian saved/indexed them to protect them from the didact
There is no latent precursor DNA.
thx i was really confused for a sec
No, we don't really know yet. So far all we know was that they were apparently so advanced that even the Forerunners were scared of them and had difficulty controlling them.
No, the spot would have just been replaced probably.
no he isnt
Atriox is very much alive, Escharum died
He lives
where is he?
Idk
I think what the game tries to tell us is that the Endless a) could survive the Halo rings and b) had some form of time travel technology that the Forerunners did not
um
they were stuck in those pod things that the forerunners put them in to keep them for a later date
they did it with thousands of species iirc
to protect them from when the rings ignited
but seeing it back again it does seem sorta like that
I mean, Humanity in Halo shared the same past as ours
Like, World War 2 did happen
So yeah, I guess, Railroad trains existed in halo
It's for sure that the endless survived the firing of the array, my question is how did they come to be on the ring? And what's up with them that let them survive Halo?
They were imprisoned as cylixes by the Forerunners
despondent pyre took the ring to their homeworld
oh factual I forgot about that
iirc its in the banished archaeology logs
from what I understand Despondent Pyre moved the ring to the endless homeworld so the forerunners and the endless could have a parlay
conversation between hostile/potentially hostile parties
Like a diplomacy mission
Oooooh
I don't know what the technological standing was for the endless when the forerunners had the parley but I believe they became such a massive threat because they survived the rings firing
Which in the forerunner's eyes was a big no-no
(I think)
Well if the foreunners using the flood as a farm to keep the foreunners power in their hands then I'd say they would have something sus in their biology
They can zip zap wherever
So they were able to move away from any potential danger
Like when the rings fired, they most likely would have teleported somewhere that the rings blast had covered already
i mean yes but is there any medium that shows railroads in the 2500s?
i just wanna know if the modern train today became more modern or if we’ve peaked the railroad technology but i also spose there’s more ways to ship freight than ever
I'm pretty sure in one of the movies/Legends there's a super advanced train in it.
https://www.halopedia.org/Maglev_train
This is a good start
they probably use maglevs
I mean… Kikiwani station showed one I believe in Halo 3 ODST
Is Spartan 1337 a canonical character?
Ya know
I think the events of ODST happened
but I like to think the missions we play are what the Rookie imagines them have happened like
Do I need to play Halo 5 to understand anything or not miss out on any story in infinite?
Eh. As someone with too many hours in 5 watch a brief summary and skip it IMO
Missing Halo 5 will leave you with a lack of knowledge on Halo infinite and you wont understand alot of the plot points. As Reaper suggested finding a YT summary may be better.
hm okay! I've heard it's bad so😭 lmao I'll do that, playing through all four Halo games rn <3
Keep it up Spartan
unless your a elite preferred species
what if you prefer the flood
How much of humanity is left? Wiki says about 200 million on earth was left after 2552 but what about everything at the current date?
Humanity is back within what I dare to say billions. After the conclusion of the human-covenant war at the end of halo 3 humanity had rebuilt dramatically in both reclaiming glassed worlds and expanding in technology.
They pulled a full 360.
Sweet
do we know anything about the endless outside of what we're told in infinite?
A species known as the Xalanyn that existed during the fall of the Forerunners reign.
That’s it so far. Few things to read into as part of the legendary ending, but mostly speculation.
What happened to the flood after Awakening the Nightmare?
Spirit of Fire? They shouldve still been fighting the Banished since Infinite takes place after HW2 and H5
Yeah of course
But atriox at some point returns to the galaxy
Because escharum was in charge of all the banished outside of the ark the whole time
so like, whats the point of the yoroi armor, from all the blurbs you can read in game it just seems weeby
I think its just there to be cool
Just the latest equivalent of Hayabusa
how do the cruisers land? i thought they didnt have the engine capability to do so?
He is not.
sad moments we're living on 😔
If Spartan 1337 was canon that would mean those two random teenagers who are def not Gohan and Videl would exist too😭
They sort of just hover over the surface most of the time
And have a grav lift down like the truth and reconciliation in ce
But they can land
They can land they just don’t have like landing gear
So it would obviously damage the hull of cruisers due to weight, less so for frigates
What happened to noble actual
what actual happened to noble is he died he fought of the last bit of the elites because he was prepared to die prior to chief being in the piller of autumn
hes dead
Even if he survived through lone wolf he wouldve been left in the barren wasteland reach became for over 3 decades
sup
It was also glassed, he would be melting
😂😂😂 that wording cracked me up "alone n the wasteland for 30 years" poor N6 lol
assuming you mean Colonel Holland (the guy with the callsign Noble Actual in-game), his fate has never been elaborated upon
including whether he died or not
Is that true that theres 2 Arks made by the forerruners?
Yeah the Lesser Ark and the Greater Ark
Does those 2 arks appear on the halo 3?
The one in 3 is the lesser ark
What if the Endless are the completed versions of the Flood? The flood was an experiment attempting to gain something, could that have been the endless? So will the endless be smarter, more complete non-mutated versions of the flood?
gravemind is forklift certified
Endless are likely to be Precursors or Precursor descendants.
Arent flood corrupted pre-cursors?
post-precursors or as I like to call them: The Cursors
not sure, i thought the Precursors were the ones that created the flood using humans as sacrifices. It could be the case that, the corrupted rouge Precursor created the flood, and another Precursor created the Endless, a non-corrupted flood.
Maybe the precursors could create large armies to protect what they create, and that's why the corrupted precursor made the flood, and when you look at the words.
Flood - an endless stream of water
Endless - something that is infinite
quite similar, the endless might be the completed, non-mutated version of the flood.
Except the flood were already a mutated version of a form of dust that the Precursors had evolved into to escape the forerunners if I’m not mistaken
Yeah non mutated flood is just a precursor.
Also the name of the Flood is more of a biblical reference and probably not a hint at a plotline invented by 343 20 years later
I wouldn’t mind it tho if the Endless were just the Precursors, even if they were from the same stuff that made the flood except not mutated
I do hope the Harbinger isn’t one of them, or if so then a much weaker form of Precursor. I’m just not a fan of the design
But like what are the xalanyn then
dang this is interesting the pre-mongoose https://www.halopedia.org/Sperry_FCMMagLEV
tho im super interested what a maglev drivetrain would be like
since the warthog is hydrogen powered, do you think that they've gone away with oil / gasoline?
what fuel does a scorpion take?
Possibly hydrogen as well
They probably got a bunch of fuel sources in the next 500 years
"The M808 Scorpion was first manufactured in 2218[6], rumbling across the sands of Mars and over the rubble of urban battlezones on Earth.[10] " huh
apparently the scorpions design is so efficient and able that they've had it around for over 300 years
If it works it works
Is why the basic rifle construction hardly changes
Did humanity like technologically stagnate
Sometimes I wish we could see the 2200s
it seems kinda like it
also the scorpion upgrade; the grizzly came out in 2509 so it took nearly 300 years to upgrade the scorpion platform
manufactured by Chalybs Defense Solutions, manufacturers of the m808 scorpion
i hope if we made it to 2500's we take these names
ofc it'll prob still be Lockleer or whatever by that time but still
"The origins of the Grizzly are shrouded, due to maneuverings by many competing bureaucratic and corporate interests within the UNSC at the time of its development. The Grizzly quickly found a niche with Army and Marine units despite initial skepticism and the logistical challenges of transporting it. The Grizzly proved invaluable both as an anti-armor vehicle and a mobile fortress that could drive straight into the heart of insurrection positions and outgun any rebel armored vehicles. The beginning of the Human-Covenant War cemented the Grizzly’s reputation as the bane of enemy armored vehicles. On the open field the Grizzly was practically unstoppable, and often forced the Covenant to deploy naval assets in order to decisively end the threat that even one or two tanks could cause to their staging areas and supply columns."
dang
The Kestrel is also op
also this
The UNSC Spirit of Fire carried a large complement of Grizzlies, largely due to the preferences of Sergeant John Forge, who turned the tanks' acquisition into a personal project of his.
"I just think they're neat" meme
"He's got the Halo 1 pistol!"
"He's got the Halo 3 pistol hahahahah"
"Halo Wars 2 has an infected Grizzly that goes unused." what the heck
wow i never noticed this thing, and I played a lil halo wars 2
talking about this makes me wanna pop halo wars 1 in
Halo wars 2 is great
I prefer 2
ahhh
im big into rts so i was excited but still skeptical then when i played it i sunk too many hours into it
and they did a v good job making halo an rts
Wars 1 is still fun even tho the story is pretty meh
and the cutscenes are some of the best (looking)
ya its a lil hard to summon a story outta no where 30 years before the halo 1 story but it was nice
Wars 2 I felt had a more engaging story because it had so many new ideas
ye however (i haven't played infinite pls don't spoil) wonder if the ending of hw2 connects with the rest of the story
cuz (spoilers for anyone who hasn't completely halo wars 2)
the whole last scene of Anders seeing a Halo warp in was like 'oh boy what'
That ending was cool
my favorite scene was the AI using a covie cruiser to glass the halo
I also believe OPERATION: SPEARBREAKER is underrated
which ones that?
in hw2?
Everyone talks about Awakening the Nightmare
Yeah
Divine Wind has some narrative connections to Halo Wars 2
ah ok im looking up the operation spearbreaker now
And is a great read
you actually play as odst?
i noticed i have a bunch of new dlc's downloaded for hw2 via xbox app on windows
so i don't know what theyve added since and if i even have it, i saw a forge dlc and whatnot
I feel like if Halo wars 2 didn't exist Halo Infinite would not be as good as it is
But I should go to bed
i’m late to this comment but it’s explained in halo shadows of reach that atriox was on the lesser ark prior to returning to the halo ring
it was still a good game might give it a shot tonight for a quick skirmish gn
The same wacky sergeant that sees Spartan Jerome and decides Yeah, I think I'll deck him
Cruisers weigh a lot, they’re assisted by like boosters and such. In reach the pillar of autumn has these attached to her in a few cutscenes and when she leaves they activate and then shed off.
but then consider the halo 3 scene with the frigates firing at the forerunner key ship; they dont have boosters yet they're in the air. Or the halo 3 mission of the forward until dawn landing scorpions on the ark
The UNSC’s cruisers and frigates are in two entirely different weight classes.
but still requires the same technology to 'hover' in atmosphere no?
Maybe? For whatever unexplained and likely unimportant reason, UNSC cruisers just aren’t shown to be capable of sustained flight under a planet’s gravity.
When you say cruiser do you mean like Infinity big or smaller?
No, as in the ship type. Cruiser.
Smaller. Like the Halcyon-class that the Pillar of Autumn belonged to. The Infinity is classified as a supercarrier.
There’s no reason explained why ships can float around in the atmosphere though, it just “looks cool”.
There’s a reason on why cruisers can’t leave without extra thrust though from a rest, that is called weight.
The “hover” technology doesn’t exist though. The ships shouldn’t be able to operate in atmo without boosters.
⚠️ HALO INFINITE CAMPAIGN SPOILER ⚠️
With the destruction of the Brute home world, how will they reproduce? I sure as hell haven't seen any female Brutes in Halo.
wait
Then why don't they just replicate their whole army?
And not to mention their fleet?
maybe they do
Easy overwhelming military.
Probably so the franchise can go on but logically it makes no sense
The brutes likely existed on other planets and may have had a few colonies
They’re endangered most definitely, but I’m sure there’s more females out there
They have multiple other worlds they are colonized on.
The covenant controlled a huge portion of known space, and likely hundreds of planets
Though the brutes were one of the newer races to the Covenant I think, so they may not have had as much time as other races to expand
They where still seeded by the covenant, a colony can easily have a few million brutes. Arcadia was rather small colony and had 3 million population.
Teash a moon of Doisac, it’s not said it the moons where destroyed or not though.
The brutes may not be as influential a species anymore, but they’re not extinct yet
Doisac was destroyed but they still live on
Come to think of it I've never seen a female specimen of any of the covenant's species
You haven’t watched Halo Legends huh @left gazelle
Nope
I’d recommend watching Halo Legends: The Duel it’s a good watch
Think there’s a female elite
Kinda looks like the avatar
There is
Is she hot
Bruh
😂😂😂
They look very skinny so no not really
Ah of course
I mean halo them self’s even said there is a female In every race in halo but we never see them because they are more of a home protector or a stay at home mom that is highly skilled in combat
But grunt females idk
I mean the grunt females are probably more useless than the male no hate on females btw
But that is why they probably stay home
But it does make sense the males go out and fight while the females stay at home and tend to the young
gn I’m out 💀💀😂
Anyone looking at my stuff
I’m pretty sure some of the Jackals in infinite are female
Holy moly, I just finished Memory Agent, and I bleeding called it!
Mgalekgolo don’t really have.. genders in that sense, considering they’re agglomerations of smaller separate eels. A “female” Hunter just wouldn’t really be a thing, since the ones we see all the time don’t really have a gender to begin with.
I know but what about different formations of the mgalekgolo worms outside of the "hunters"?
Well, I mean, we’ve already seen the Mgalekolo colony type as the control system for Scarabs in addition to taking on the form of Hunters, which can also form into Goliaths. The Harvester in Halo 4’s Spartan Ops missions is controlled by a Sbaolekgolo colony formation. Nightfall features a Thanolekgolo colony type.
Meanwhile Dipholekgolo, Rhulolekgolo, and Khantolekgolo were namedropped on Waypoint once but they’ve never actually been elaborated on.
Kinda hope the upcoming new Encyclopedia touches on those.
Installation 05, Delta Halo...
Oh that's flood infested lol
Nah its surface was glassed by the Elites.
Cleansing the infection
O.o
Strange stone structures resembling Forerunner architecture-
Except for high charity which broke through the line.
Did the Delta have a Human population like Zeta?
Uhhh
Actually.
My assumption has always been that it was either:
a.) an intelligent species that was housed on Delta Halo for indexing, like humanity was on Zeta Halo, preserved by the Forerunners as a monument to their past.
or b.) those are Forerunner ruins, but the absence of Penitent Tangent, and the prioritisation of containing the Flood in the Quarantine Zone, meant that the usual level of upkeep non-essential structures would have had just wasn't there, allowing them to fall into considerable disrepair.
Yes
This is just speculation from a redditor-
Recalling back within the Halo 2 missions the ruins within the mission seemed to imply that were was other species on the Ring. At the very lest it wasn't made by forerunners.
Way to ancient to be forerunner.
Another user
There are H2 maps with similar architecture to those in Delta Halo and confirmed to be Forerunner structures
Another user
Interesting. I know that zeta halo supposedly had primitive humans living on it that may have created something like this. It’s weird that forerunners would create something so primitive right on top of their advanced structures.
They aren't wrong. Forerunners almost always have used some kind of metallic material in their structures yet the ruins on Delta were stone.
The issue is that we dont know the secondary purpose of Delta halo
An imitation-
But a rather impressive one
Those towers-
Above the water
How they built something like that is astonishing
Could have had help from the forerunners or the monitor.
Yeah, or it could be a oversight of the developers
Most likely-
It would be interesting to come across ruins in CE
Meaning that there was some type of experiment going on-
Fallout vibes.
Raising them to be worthy holders of the Mantle maybe?
Doubt it. The rings were made by the librarian who liked ancient humanity. I couldn't see her making any experiments with them.
so question : were the spartan 4s we found on zata halo the only spartans on the infinite ?
Well no-
well not MADE but suggested
Nay
Guiding them, in a sense.
than do we know the full count or ?
Might wanna discuss this in campaign spoilers instead
Possible but not alot of information on Delta sadly
Thanks to being glassed, lol
Yeah fr haven’t even finished the tower yet lmao
who are spartan horvath and kovan?
Some of the Spartans from infinite data pads
why were the spartan IIs so jacked and seen up to compared to the rest of the spartans again?
They’re the 75 top candidates from dozens, if not hundreds of planets so they were physically some of the best they could find, and then trained nonstop for years and underwent incredibly dangerous physical enhancements that killed or crippled at least half of them
This was a cool read, artwork looks awesome and did look weird as hell at some points.
My favourite parts is seeing the Spartan 2s wear the CE armor with different helmets, they should of added those the Halo 1 CE multiplayer
Spartan II’s cost to much. III’s where cheaper.
4’s cheaper than that.
Why are the Spartan 4s in Halo 5 the same height as Spartan 2s? was it an error? from what I know the 4s are average height since they have less augmentations.
Spartan 4’s are about 6’9 ish I think. With 2’s being 7’2 ish.
Chief is 7 foot tall I think, he’s rather short.
You get a good height comparison @steel stone when him and Palmer stand next to each other.
halo 5 campaign bad
Just 343 being 343.
That only happened at the end of the game though he was not like that in the campaign I swear
Chief would have destroyed Locke in a fist fight.
That’s just perspective as well, would look wonky if your character was 7 feet tall off the ground in first person.
yes
No Chief would of folded him like a towel, so many hate Halo 5s Chief Vs Locke fight
In the games you actually are 7 foot, you can tell because you often look down in Halo 3 at the marines they are very small compared to you. Elites just blew my mind at their height though
You’re right.
Halo 3 Elites are hunched but if get to them stand tall they tower over you, try that in Crows nest intro level that got a laugh out of me
