Have you seen his health on legendary?

I also want one prelate.
Like an extremely secret boss.
That is accessed by interesting choices.
?
Mega coked out sanghelli that's in dire need of a sandwich
Nah it's the Warden.
Or some prophet.
Oh wait that's too cool.
Some speculate that she might be part of the Precursor race that was wiped out by the Forerunners or she was part of another alien race that was meant to be the Reclaimers before the Forerunners decided to hand that mantle of responsibility to the humans instead.
transsetient species able to change forms at will
I'm sticking with very skinny sanghelli since their hands looked like a sanghelli
tho more plausible would be either something forerunner or so
highly unlikely that any other precs survived the genocide and or firing of the rings
With some type of ceremonial or special headgear
4 fingers on the hands
Skinny bois
What’s the harbinger
Boss type looking character in infinite
Not much known about them
Rip me
I hope they bring back the flood for infinite
Precursor doesn't make sense.
Looks the same to me other than the feet/ankles
(ten proto-graveminds)
Maybe prosthetics
If that's a precursor it'd be...smarter.
A gravemind boss fight would be pretty cool in my opinion
Nope.
When the flood is the final boss
It's halo 3 cut content fyi.
Fun fact.
The fear factor of it would be sick
Cool fact.
Thank
Yeah
Isn’t Cortana dead or deleted in infinite?
The level Cortana is actually a carrier.
Not High Charity.
The level was meant to be after Floodgate.
Supposedly decommissioned by new Halsey model ai
Man they ruined the elite.
You’ll have to play to find out
Assasin.
I'm not too convinced myself
He should've played like a horror villain.
I honestly can’t wait to play the campaign in December
Cortana becomes Nemesis lmao
Hopefully the story flows well with the open world implementation
Elite nemesis????
It will.
Yes flood mutation.
Nice
Imagine if flood mutates spartans.
That’d be a nightmare to fight
Halo 4 infection flashbacks
Only spartan 1's are immune.
Halo 4 infection is kinda weird in my opinion
But still scary as hell.
Yeah
Which book? Do you remember?
i didn’t like the way they did the flood
It was like assault something or other
I did.
I found it at Barnes and noble 😄
It was like an ONI flood experiment.
@versed helm please stop pinging people when replying
I would have prefers if they had the big tentacles
Nah they looked scary like they were supposed to.
The halo 4 flood looked like good monsters, but terrible flood.
True
Good ONI experiment.
Not the best executed but cool start
I wished Halo 3 did not have flood.
One of the things i liked that 343 did
WOW why
And was longer.
The flood in halo 3 was awsome
Like the battle was longer.
I agree
Flood bad
The great schism would be more interesting.
Mod time.
I AM A MONUMENT TO YOUR SINS geriatrically walls forward
Read shadow of intent you get great schism and high charity details
Which one was that
How have i not heard of this band
Frickin Aliens level.
It really showed the true horror of flood
(xenomorphs)
And dat elite.
Wtf happened to him?
I'm not sure
There from the elites containing the outbreak to the prophets evacuating
I wish they'd make a reference to him
Oof
RIP
I don't know
Imagine a shield world with stuff creepier than flood?
Go look up halo Mona lisa
Movie
Hard to top the flood for creep factor at least visually.
Creepiest thing ever is xenomorphs and the thing.
Flood can't infect xenomorphs.
So lol.
Have you ever seen my mom?!?!
Nope.
Youd change your opinion if you did
Xenomorphs don't use guns and could breath in the spores
But acid blood?
This band is alright lol though not a fan of the standard death metal vocal edit
I actually liked Alien: Covenant.
Not acid coated lungs
But they don't breathe?
It's an acquired taste, their newer stuff is more melodic
How fast are combat form reflexes?
If you like this parody music you should check out okilly dokilly if you're familiar with the simpsons
I e listens to the
They need air, they just have long periods of holding breath
I've listened to them*
OH that's cool.
But xenomorph smart, it'll use SOP's.
And acid spit.
The flood can win only IF they create a gravemind.
Bruh flood use guns.
They use spnkrs too
And the flood can multiply quickly as well
Whoever thought of that at bungie is not a nice guy
Whoever thought of giving the flood spnkrs is surely the same sadist that made jackal snipers in legendary the absolute assassins they are
Rip hey guy
What will be the new BS enemy in infinite? Sword grunts?
I think the kamikaze grunts
yeetus brute who trows suicide grunts at you
Or maybe theyll reintroduce skirmishers from reach and give them grav hammers
Yea I recently tried to complete halo 4 on legendary and now I have nightmares about the sniper jackals
Caleb you need to try halo 2 legendary
You havent felt pain
Until halo 2 legendary
Maybe they'll make drone snipers like the halo 4 concept art
Brute shot drones would also be cool 🤡
I have done mostly all of the games on heroic the only one I did legendary on is odst
Master chief is ness from final fantasy I think that's why the weapon was created
sniper alley on legendary before knowing you can skip that entire section
Why can't December 8th be now? I want fresh lore.
My favorite is going through the curved highway tunnel on the ghosts and constantly getting flipped then blown up
Read book
When done with one book
ghosts of reach
Read another book
Kilo five is good and no one can change my mind
gives some insight to pre infinite events
Yeh the newest one
Shadows of reach is a great book
Karen Traviss handling of Lucy is something that bothers me
Well divine wind is the newest
It's pretty insulting.
Wait til yall read divine wind then lol
I didn’t like the kilo five series as much as the main ones like fall of reach and first strike
Like they treat her like she's a fragile flower that needs to be coddled, as opposed to the mute superhuman that spooked most gamma class SP3s
Kilo five is very much a main book series lol
And instead of keeping Lucy mute for the rest of her life like GoO said she'd be, the author just went, "You too can overcome disabilities just by hating Halsey enough!"
Set up a lot of foundation for future books and wasnt made as a niche genre to rope in certain readers like the battle born books did
Also treating Halsey like she's the main bad guy for the Spartans isneh
Spartan Naomi was a interesting character i liked her in the book
They never mention her in any books after it that kinda annoys me
Oh yea she is I remember that now
I enjoyed that, Halsey was sanctified a lot in the Bungie era books
It went too far
I know she was bad but she didn't exactly kidnap all those kids alone.
With the author even retconning previous events to try to make Halsey look worse
Nah Halsey is a menace vaz was led astray from his holy mission by heretics
She didn’t, and the book never tried to push that as a fact
Lucy hating Halsey is just strange since she's not an S2
Like why not hate the higher ups in charge of the S3 program?
Halsey isn’t the only person who knew about it if you say Halsey was evil then you have to say Oni is also just as bad as her as they let her preform the experiments
S3 program most likely wouldn’t have been a thing without the advancements Halsey made
Who says ONI isn’t evil lmao
You're right there.
ONI isn't quite mustache twirl evil, but they're too dark to be called grey
I like how an ONI agent in one of the books even says ONI just straight up murdered agents if they didn't agree to replacing the kids with clones.
Hopefully we get a game where we can take on ONI one day
Its not all Halsey's fault, there were plenty of people involved that were more than cooperative but you could've replaced any of them, you couldn't replaced Halsey. She was the driving force behind the entire program and the unnecessary flash cloning procedures.
She actually wanted to leave the program, but was reminded that if she left, she'd just be replaced with somebody who didn't care about the kids' well-being at all.
A person who gets to halseys level of education and innovation cant be anything other than hyper-obsessed with their work. If you ask me thats just her trying to make herself feel better and giving herself an excuse.
It was somebody else telling her that, so it couldn't have been her trying to make herself feel better.
Halsey dose regard the Spartans as her children and the Spartans see her as their mother
You don't get to the top 1% of the top 1% of any field without being absolutely committed to what youre doing
Also Halsey gets some leeway for pioneering all that nifty tech and creating the dude who saved humanity twice
The ends don’t justify the means for a lot of people
Eh, I give her leeway moreso for regretting the horrible actions she took. It was very much not a good thing.
Easy thing to regret doing things
The harder choice is knowing what you're doing is wrong and stepping away from something you've dedicated yourself to
That kinda goes into "If she left, somebody worse would continue it"
Someone could improve on her work, there’s no one known that could’ve replicated it
She made fhe program to begin with
Throughout what mustve been years of her developing it before even proposing it or putting it into action she mustve never once thought what she was doing was completely immoral and inhuman
She did
What’s even worse was she thought keeping insurrectionists under the boot of the UEG/UNSC was worth creating child soldiers and destroying families
Her journal talks about her being disgusted by what she was putting into action
Yes, but without the kids, they're all ded
Ends dont justify means they just make them easier to ignore and accept
She had to remind herself that she was doing this because she thought humanity as a civilization wouldn't survive if she didn't do it, whenever she got cold feet.
Now, the UEG never should have let the situation get that awful in the first place, and actually give the outer colonists what they desired before a bubble burst, to put that out there.
She's not a good person, but I wouldn't say evil
Also possibly super human if she can take Lucy Haymakers and almost escape Palmer on foot.
Halsey is a Precursor, of course.
She dipped into her own supply lol
Heard the spartan 3 augmentations were safer and couldnt resist lol
The narration literally said the punch sent shockwaves up Lucy's arm from the force.
I like the idea of being a superhuman geriatric
Yeah probably not, but almost escaping palmer is just sad.
And that was when Lucy snapped.
She grabbed Halsey by the shoulder again, spun her around and threw a punch that sent a shock wave right up her arm. Halsey hit the ground with a loud crack. Someone grabbed Lucy from behind, but the switch had been thrown and she didn’t know how to turn it off. The fury shut out all sound: her lungs froze and her skull was bursting.
That was definitely a punch she wasn't pulling.
Wasn’t pulling != trying to kill
If the punch sent shockwaves up a Spartan's arm, I don't think an unaugmented old human woman would survive it with only a bloody nose to show for it.
I'm gonna argue that Nathan was right and it was just written dramatically
I don't know how much Karen read of the past halo books, so maybe her not realizing that cheif can unarmed kill a group of elite soldiers is just a snag.
I figured Traviss just forgot that Lucy was a Spartan, or didn't know if SIIIs were particularly strong.
Halsey is also able to out think some smart AI which is neat.
Poor kalmiya
Imagine if Halsey met Spark. Their beef would be worse than him and Cortana's.
S3's are not as strong as S2's especially the Alpha and Beta generations S3's were "disposable" heros. That said, yes they are leagues stronger than a baseline human.
FYI S4's are similar to Alpha and Beta S3's, just have leagues better armor
Ostral knows his stuff and definitely knows that
I strongly believe theres a caveat to the s3s not being as strong though that people constantly overlook
Being the genetic component of s2s having the "perfect" genetic makeup according to what halsey wanted
Augments are different as well
The s3s primary recruiting factor was being a angry motivated war orphan
Yes different but in GoO they never said the augments were worse
I think genetics are the biggest factor
And mendez and kurt even said they ended up with a handful of kids that halsey wouldve picked back in the spartan 2 program
Those being the spartan 3 cat 2s
They did, they went for cheaper variants with looser genetic locks.
I wonder if they'll focus more on cloning more spartans in the future.
Like noble team excluding jorge being a 2
Show me a quote in GoO explicitly saying the augmentations performed worse than the spartan 2 augmentations
Because ive heard people constantly talk about how theyre worse but ive never been able to remember reading anything explicitly saying the augmentations are worse
Lucy was wearing SPI when she decked Halsey too, so its not a full Mjolnir hit.
Sure let me grab the books from my pocket while at work
its pretty cool you get to carry halo books with you at work.
Well those books were pretty small lol could easily fit em in a cargo pocket
And a second for a friend in the other cargo pocket if youre feeling generous
That still augments strength a little bit...and even unarmoured Spartans are not exactly weak.
Definitely just misunderstanding from karen traviss
Agreed
The books said that all S-III augmentations were as effective as those of the S-IIs, the biggest difference was that SPI enhances the wearer’s strength to a lesser degree than Mjolnir.
i thought getting the S-2 augmentations shred up the bodies of adults
SIIIs were not adults when they were augmented
oh right!
they were orphaned kids!
Adults can be orphans lol
Yeh lol
(But they were small childen at the time)
happy?
Never. 😌
Though some were most definitely well into puberty even without supplemental growth hormone
so are S4s canonically the same height as other spartans? i thought they were supposed to stay the same height after the augmentation.
The cheapness of the spartan 3s came from the armor
MJOLNIR cost the same as a starship
I think it's more along the lines for the S2s being genetically superior to S3s. The S2s were already the top of humanity and then being augmented. The augments might have been the same but the S2s were still superior.
SPI armor was much more affordable
Nah to the latter, part of the augmentation for them was lengthening bones
The reason that genetics didn’t play as much a factor in the Spartan 3 augs was because of medical advancements
They gain a couple of inches, per Buck in New Blood.
Spartan 2s needed very specific genetics to be compatible with the dangerous augs
And even then it was a crapshoot whether it would be successful
😭 finally found some people that dont think s3s are the cheaper, less skilled, knockoff model
#blessed
Or something
Lol
If anything, 3s were trained harder than 2s
EternalCanadian, when he was here, was a big SIII advocate.
Spartan 2s are still cooler :)
Ssssh
Meh
Not everyone can be the ubermensch
All you need is childhood psychological trauma and doom guy anger
For as good as they were they sure died alot
😌
And the S3s didn't?
💀
The 3s died more because there were more of them. Also they had worse equipment
And they were sent of mass suicide missions
2s had Mjolnir and most of them still died
2s were primarily designed to fight other humans, unlike the 3s
How many 2s are even left? Blue team, grey team, red team. That’s it
Maybe a few more here or there
There were like 70 S2s after augs. So eh? I'm not saying they are better.
looks at beta company
Hm? There were 75 SIIs before getting augmented
150 before augs. Most of them died in surgery.
No
Lore fight
150 was before budget cuts
Who can look up halopedia first? Lol
I already know lol
I coulda sworn it was 300 candidates
150 actually were disappeared in the name of oni
Because budget
It was 300 in the proposal, 150 for the initial go-ahead, and then 75 after budget cuts
A couple 2s died due to augs
A couple this man says
I thought a lot more died in surgery
🤡
33 survived the augmentation as functioning Spartans.
12 alive, but maimed.
F
30 "dead" and on ice in the hopes that they could be restored.
I have a potato powering my brain
But Ostral correct. There were around 30 after augs. Though a few more who survived surgery but had complications.
Yeh like red team had their augmentations fixed
Yup
I'm surprised those parents didn't get suspicious when their "kids" died around the same time.
Bro theyre spread out around the galaxy
Some did
They would have no reasion to
And some idd
Naomi's dad
Like naomis dad
There were billions of humans
Turned grassroots terrorist
Ayyyy
75 kids on a variety of planets is not gonna raise an alarm.
Even then, at least two parents did.
Literally about to go covenant on earth and glass the homeplanet
Had a covenant cruiser and everything
And even then, Naomi's dad was a fairly unique circumstance because of a botched grab
i wonder if ONI will be continuing the other spartan projects in secret and just blending them in with the S4s
The UNSC didn’t even go public with the Spartan programs until later in the war so it’s not like they’d have reason to suspect that their kids got abducted and brainwashed into killing machines or what have you
Yeah
ONI knows what they are doing when it comes to snatching kids apparently.
Well mostly.
And he didnt have the drunk goggles on like all the other parents whos kids suspiciously were pretty weird abruptly
There really isn't a point. They can turn volunteer adults into Spartans.
I think Naomi's clone having mismatched memories was unusual
weren’t the older spartans stronger though?
Yeah osman and Parangosky were pretty adamant on only consenting adults for the future
They don't need to keep IVs secret, or use the "Spartans Never Die" morale booster anymore
Without armor yes. But the new Gen 3 armor makes the S4s as strong as the S2s and S4s without the augs.
Mjolnir can usually make up the difference these days, so it's not too big an issue
We will probably see Spartan 5s later if the UEG survived long enough. Possible clones as well. Who knows.
I dont think any sanghelli are gonna notice the difference between spartan generations when the one thousand pound suit of power armor that can lift tanks is trying to replace their head with a fist
Dont think clones will happen as long as osman is cinconi
Parangosky is one of the most important people to her and might as well be her daughter in terms of influence and Parangosky was pretty disgusted by halseys cloning
fair enough
I think it's more of what happened to the clones and families than the actual cloning itself.
Parangosky is one of the most important people to her and might as well be her daughter in terms of influence and Parangosky was pretty disgusted by halseys cloning
Which is funny, since she approved the worse SIIIs, and even said that Halsey should never learn about them, since "Halsey cares way too much about Spartans' well-being."
Halsey purposefully fudged the cloning I believe. Could be wrong.
Yeah not trying to cause a debate lol the reasons withstanding they both dont like cloning
Debate is fine. Arguing isn't. But I gotcha.
Yeah, basically just calling her a hypocritical jerkface.
I personally want more Gray team.
I would love to see the mixed species team they're a part of.
Specially if Sanghelli are on the team lol. Man if they find out what they did.
I wanna see a Kiggie protagonist. 😌
Grunt>jackal
Have the book from their PoV, as they wonder about working with humans, Spartans at that.
I'd be okay with another Sanghelli PoV.
Kiggie or Sangheili would be good with me
Id imagine half the kigyar chapters would be day dreaming about what gear they can loot
I want a short story about Hunters ngl
what is your favorite type of Kigyar and why is it the skirmishers?
Ah, the gamer experience.
since they (supposedly) have their own culture and everything
Is it bad if I hope Chief finds the end of his "soldiering" soon? Kinda want a different Spartan protag that you can customize (kinda like MP and Reach)
I mean, their culture is piracy and bandits
Yeah they do its actually explored a bit in the kilo five books
Bunch of pirates
Kinda live in tribes
some want more though
And they each have their own queen kinda
The former, yes. I want him to follow his desire and join the Diplomatic Corps. For the latter, I want more variation than just "Play your SIV Here"
i forget the character's name but
One Kig-yar wanted to get the covenant ship from Mortal Dictata to start a unified Kig-yar fleet
At that point it's an RPG. Which would be okay with me as long as its still fairly true to Halo and opponents aren't just damage sponges.
Yeah but the matriarch figure knew that stuff was too hot
Easy way to get disappeared by oni
I mean, not necessarily. We played as Sangheili and ODSTs previously, and those weren't RPGs.
Also an easy way for oni to lose a couple mac projectiles and nukes ya know
Though I do want a Sanghelios ARPG. They'd really lend themselves well to it
I guess I took the "variation" to a different direction. Mostly cause I would rather play a Spartan but that's just me.
A Halo ARPG would be cool. But I don't want enemies to have giant health bars.
I just want a game playing as an odst doing black ops against innies 😐
That I would be okay with.
Stacker could be your team leader lol
Do we have any more info on Kilo Five? I think those two ODST guys would have been pretty good as S4s.
Along with Forge
😌
Idk about Rion. She is incredibly distrustful of the UNSC.
They're pretty awful people, so the less I hear of them, the better
Dont need your negativity
lol
e'ew
Ostral is just mad because the aliens were lied to.
Kigyar sympathizer
The UNSC went all Soviet Russia on a colony and bombed it because people rebelled
Game where you play as a grunt who must survive a flood outbreak and your only prep was watching pirated human horror movies.
based
Can't really blame the innies for their defiance
baaaaaseed
there was no colony
I'm talking about Far Isle
Well, maybe the outer colonies shouldn't rebel lol
Someone drank the Kool aid.
They wouldn't have had to rebel if the UEG cared about them more
Maybe they should be worth more? Also, not siding with the UEG. They were terrible.
Sponsored by ONI Section Two
Maybe they should be worth more?
Whoa-nelly!
I'm actually playing around. The rebels were justified to an extent.
Shouldnt have colonized a backwater farming planet
It's not that dissimilar to American Colonies and Britain.
Ostral is actual a ONI Section Two sympathizer and hes just trying to figure out who doesnt like oni
Makes sense.
I'm thinking the Grunts are in a similar situation to the innies
Basically.
I'm glad that the SoS treats them as people.
The covenant was worse than the UEG when it came to their "vassals"
Seeing how they rebelled against the Covenant over sixteen times.
SoS is based.
Well theyre supposed to be treated well
But the sanghelli are proud people who arent all influenced by the arbiter
Even if they bend the knee to him
Some but not all bend the knee.
Covenant Separatists and Sesa's Heretics treated them as people as well, as do the Created
I mean, we haven't seen them treated badly yet
The created treats everyone the same. It's what Cortana is telling them to do lol
The Created were nice enough to give them some shiny new ships as presents
Yeah if youre not an ai youre a meatbag lol
Pretty much.
I'm sad that the Rubicon Protocol got pushed back.
Went from March to June.
Did John ever know his dad?
what's the Rubicon Protocol?
The book that is coming out next year.
John never knew his parents.
Well at least not after he was taken.
he had about 6 years to know them
bruhhh
well john got to know his parents pretty well
his dad, Chief Mendez, his mom, Deja, and his wicked aunt halsey
There was that one flashback in the short story where he mentions his dad
Also in The Flood he mentions his mom smelled of soap
John?
He even described her as being kind despite his schoolyard rough house behavior as a kid when he was a child.
sad thing is chief's parents might be dead as eridanus was glassed in 2530 however in the post war it is stated to have a population of
510,000 so possibly they could be alive however they would think their son is already dead due to flashgrown humans rapid life cycle and can cayse abnormal development rate. We see this with Daisy-023's clone however she lived longer then most flashclones did.
Only two parents in halo lore knew their children was taken Naomi-10 met her father but had to leave and knew she could not grow an attachment to him and it is also said that Arthur-079's father set out to uncover the truth about his son, becoming a noted Insurrectionist along with Staffan Sentzk. To bad for him his son was well crushed literally.
There could be more I might have left out
Definitely can't blame innies now
flashclones die after a few years so fake john ded
They all ded pretty much
if yall want a good listen for when you have time should check this out
^called hunt the truth its a investigative series about a journalist hired by oni section 2 to do a good will piece on master chief after the covenant war but he ends up finding out a lot of oni secrets behind the spartan 2 program
released alongside halo 5
also the journalist is voiced by keegan michael key from key and peele if you know what that is
to this day i'll wonder why they made hunt the truth and didn't tie it into 5's mainstory.
I love bees didn't have TV ads with production values
they never even followed up much on the spartan 1.1 resistance faction either though 😦
It was also back before halo as a franchise had as much money as it does now
Marketing campaigns in general were quite a bit different back then
these things are usually written by marketing agencies who are rarely given the full picture of what the game is about
Do you think that in 2560 they still listen to Mariah Carey’s all i want for Christmas?
Didn't Johnson still listen to 1990s/2000s metal?
Yes
I forgot the term they had for it in universe. Slashrock or something?
Either all musicians died before 2000 or they all got enlisted
pretty sure kelly listens to rock or metal before missions too
does that mean k-pop would persist into halo's time 😨
Flip music is what it was called
Makes me wish the Covenant invaded sooner
her dome-faced helmet was moving in time to the music he knew was blasting inside her headgear. Kelly had developed a sudden fondness for twentieth-century “rock” bands a year ago, after the Cortana event.
So does Johnson
Chief listens to classical music can’t you tell
A man of refined taste /s
machine guns going cyclical is its own music
True
Arbiter listens to Mongolian throat singing
WORT WORT WORT
Funnily enough. Arbiters first encounter with a Spartan was Jay 006.
Nah Halo 3 Rat got a new album out
I wonder if there was a spartan called James 007
He would also be an English spartan lol
James was 005 though
Almost
The flood be the kinda group that be listening to 24 hours of silence broken up by the vine boom effect randomly
Cortana listens to the portal soundtrack
10 hour loop 💀
I wonder what rookie and Six listened to
chief just listens to blow me away on a loop
Rookie liked whatever went through his head.
Well six is high on grunt blood the whole time and idk what Rookie drinks
Red bull
probably lots of kurt cobain
👀
Wait Rookie and Sic listened to the halo soundtrack
Oh that's terrible.
Breaking the 4th wall they are
I wonder if the UNSC uses AMD or Intel or whatever the in universe equivalents are.
They use AIs
its all chromebooks with proprietary chips
Lol
they use windows 252527263^5
oh didnt mean to reply to you on that lol
I assumed you meant to reply to the ai comment
🤢
Bro can’t you tell they run windows XP
UNSC is a branch of SpaceX
the ueg is actually google
But I actually meant for those portable computers and command consoles you see in the games
They run DOS
united earth google
elon ditched electric for hydrogen fuel cells to make the warthog
Elon is probably preserved as an AI and is dictator of mars still 500 years later
zuck is the covenant
Zuck is a prophet
the great metaverse shall begin
So, how did they put the Master Chief in the soda bottle?
mamster cheef in the soda bottle
Imagine if Vladimir Koslov was an AI
Waiting for the day a corpsman has an actual corpsman rank in lore
Dae put da masthfr chreef I da soder
Is the "Spartans never die" rule still a thing
What would the Spartan equivalent of an ODST be, wouldnt it be the S3 Headhunters? Just a random thought and yes I know Spartan IVs are mostly former ODSTs.
I wonder what happened to the inserectunace. (I spelled that so wrong because Im tired)
anyone with hyper lethal rating.
Im talking about Spartans that mainly are tasked with being dropped in behind enemy lines
i guess head hunters would fit best, its weird how the spartan branch doesn't have a normal rank system
Its fitting, so they feel equal
But I do think there should be tags associated with spartans that arent as hard to achieve, like there was only ever 2 hyper lethal spartans, what if there was something like that but much lower
Chief is one of them I believe
there probably is, i'm sure they're more hyper lethal spartans, its just they might not have mentioned they were rated that way.
Chief and Noble 6
Noble 6 isnt dead. If theres no body he still lives
heck Locke might be hyper lethal too.
All spartans are hyper-lethal, so you are correct
Every Spartan is hyper lethal
Nah locke isnt He got his butt whooped by Chief
No, he literally is
Chief is more of a threat then the rest of the spartans
Hes got more expierence then them all.
🤔
For being a Spartan?
where was that confirmed? cause Palmer in the comics makes me doubt that.
HAHA
Pretty sure the rest of Blue Team who weren't on ice for four years have more experience than him.
palmer is a meme
Ground Command and the Official Spartan Field Manual
Both sources say every spartan is classified as Hyper-lethal
Does it say Hyper Lethal or Hyper Lethal Vector
They're the same thing
So... any theory Crafting on how the Banished took out Infinity?
Probably the Harbinger
well even then i dont think anyone takes into account those facts, i like the Hyper Lethal Vector status being with only 2 spartans
It's pretty bad, and doesn't make any sense.
I despise its existence with every fiber of my being
Noble 6 and the Chief I am sure is the Vector one.
the rest are just normal Hyper lethal
There is no difference
I just looked into it and the quote says Spartan-IIs are all classified as Hyper Lethal
brb gonna go hand out Certified Cool Guy™️ certificates to specific individuals for completely arbitrary reasons
I dont know if this applies to IIIs and IVs
It does
SFM is quite explicit
the Spartan-IIs and the Master Chief are rated as 'hyper-lethal' by ONI tactical analysts." - Official Spartan Field Manual
Cough
I gotta get the field manual now, missed some bits of halo.
just says spartan 2s
ew but IVs arent anywhere near the level Spartan 2s are on
It later has a line about Spartan-IVs combined with MJOLNIR GEN2 make up a "hyper lethal" something or other so I mean
It also says SIVs while in their armor count as hyper-lethal
Some like are pretty close.
Mass produced with either close or same level as S-IIs
aren't brutes on the same physical level as a Spartan
Watch this or something, please.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsjYM7GBZqA
While in their armor, IIs dont need that crutch, IIs are hyper lethal without their armor B)
Still hyper-lethal
Most of the 2s are also dead
Shut, they're dead.
We know they're dead.
MIA
Ah, yes, propaganda speak for dead.
That's just dead
MIA
They are MIA spartans never die
Stop.
"Spartans never die, they're just Missing in Action"
Keep the mood
Spartans never die is just a hope or scare tactic
I don't care about the mood
Each their own opinion
Somewhere there was a brute staring at a spartan corpse assuming it was immortal.
Is it ironic that of the remaining Spartan 2s
Some of them are washouts?
That seems somewhat ironic to me, like you weren't best in class but you lasted longer than some who were better than you
Most were sent to different fields instead of combat
They were to valuable to the UNSC
To be fair, Red Team kinda got "lucky" in that respect because they were stuck drifting in space for most of the War.
I always wondered
Why didn't Fred get his own team?
Jerome and Chief each have a team but Fred is just part of Chiefs team despite being top 3 in his class
Fred is the leader of Blue Team. He just defers to John
Team assignments change by mission needs
I need to see Jerome and Chief interactions
Term comrade in arms so
"Hi."
"Hi."
There ya go.
HAha
That's about right
Wonder how many Gamma and Delta S3s survived Onyx or were sent into the meat grinder.
S3s literally exist to die
I find there's a suspiciously high number of unaccounted for characters in Infinites trailers so far
Lasky
Fireteam Osiris
Blue Team
Halsey
Arbiter? (Did arby get on Infinity or is he still on Sanghelios)
Should still be on Sanghelios unless some new media's changed that.
Didn't ghosts of Onyx ending during like Halloween and then the war ended like five months after it? I'm sure some are left from those companies.
Last I heard Arby is leading the homefront defensive against the Created
Speaking of the Created, it sounds like they got hammered by the Banished on Zeta Halo
Ghosts of Onyx ended around the events of Halo 2. However, the book 'Legacy of Onyx' takes place during the final events of Halo 5
Lore chat is so much more fun now that it’s filled with noobs
There's a fine line between 'fun' and 'extremely aggravating' regarding it, lmao
We were all noobs once 🙂
(Although some people could save everyone time by just using Google…)
Google doesn't tell me what the Panama is firing though.
halo lore is what I live for. A lot learned and a lot to learn. I have 6 books that I bought and need to read, a multiplayer to play, and a campaign 3 weeks away. I am Very happy
who was Spartan Theodore Sorrell in the ign gameplay?
nothing we know about him
good guess a spartan IV that was part of the infinity’s crew
and as we saw in that vid he’s dead
lmao we're on about making a whole page on halopedia about why hyper lethal is a dumb term and please stop using it
it's not an actual classification in-lore, it's just a bunch of random words halsey threw out that dumb fans latched onto
it has zero canonical bearing
looks like a really beefed up mac that's using reverse engineered forerunner tech
it's more likely Covenant-based in nature (IE a plasma lance)
the Anlace-class frigate is already using laser-based weaponry
There's little about it resembling a MAC - it fires as a beam weapon
additionally, the weapon is emitted from between the two hulls rather than from the top or bottom of a hull - meaning it can't be a coilgun (IE the system comprising all MACs)
and railguns are a meme so it's unlikely they'd ditch coilguns for a weapon system that's less reliable
of course, the infinity MACs were depicted as a beam in H4 so it could also just be artistic license
I heard some encyclopedia used it as a term for the II's and IV's with their armor
the official spartan field manual says it in passing, but it's never capitalised nor used in an official context
it'd be like calling spartans any other adjective like deadly or fast
compare it to the firing of a MAC in any other source - they're single-shot weapons that functionally look like a big gun while firing
you'd figure they upgrade their arsenal and make mac guns better
MACs are just coilguns
they're functionally identical to the gauss cannon on a Warthog
also if you look at it a bit more detailed you can see that it isn't a plasma based weapon either
oh no, the plasma bit is my speculation - but I buy into it more than a forerunner weapon source
you can see like
how i say this cus i don't know the English word for it
but like you can see small electric beams appear along the barrel
right before the projectile gets fired
That's not unusual - In Halo: First Strike, Cortana used the MAC systems of the UNSC Gettysburg to help assist in the firing of a plasma torpedo from the captured carrier Ascendant Justice
plasma is confined in a magnetic field, so the UNSC taking that technology and applying it to their experience with MAC construction is a very logical direction for them to go
The Covenant only ever had a very rudimentary understanding of how to manipulate plasma weaponry - they did some very impressive things with it but the bureacracy of High Charity prevented a lot of innovation. All it took was stapling a UNSC Frigate to a captured carrier and Cortana to spend five minutes in the system to be able to make the carrier's weapons much more efficient in usage
the upgraded main guns still don't do all that's much against the shielding tho
what's the reason that the survivors of installation 04 are able to travel back in time around 10 days?
Forunner crystals
I know the forerunner crystal allowed them to do that, but how did it affect them from so far away?
lol
also, was their anything that came from them indirectly messing with time like that?
Not really. They noted the anomaly, adjusted their clocks, and continued on.
the crystal was aboard their ship
you can chalk it down to a bit of weird cause and effect (IE the effect of the crystal affecting them before they come into contact with it)
an old post by Vociferous on the waypoint forums also indicated some of the date issues in FS can be attributed to just the clocks/timekeeping of the characters themselves being a little suspect
so being real where is unsc infinity?
is it true that most human ships in Halo Universe are just massive guns?
We just don't know right now
most UNSC ships consist of a spinally-fitted coilgun that runs the majority of the length of the ship. Decks are then built and arrayed around this as the central skeleton
if you use this cross-section for example, you can see the barrel of the MAC on the front of the ship, and follow it roughly two-thirds of the length of the ship

How did you guys like the scene in halo 5 of running down the mountain
Thought it was a bit silly especially with buck there
Did he get the enhancer stuff
Forgot what it’s called
I can’t remember which one infinity is
The Infinity
Huh you know exactly what happened to the Infinity? Lmk pls thx
The ship in Halo 4, the one that fired on the Didact’s ship
“The pinnacle of human engineering.”
It's probably the best ship the UNSC has
Not probably
It is
That’s a fact
And they gave it to a 16-year-old looking dude
How is Lasky 47 in Halo 4
He looks 26
With Noble Six
Art style and time constraints did :)
Concept art of Halo 4 had Chief in the H3 armour for the first few missions of 4
ill admit its pretty awesome
possibly the only awesome part in the whole game but thats a debate for another time
Shower thought: I'm a Gawr Gura fan. Am I the only person who thinks that John-117's love for Cortana is like my admiration for Gura, but better?
what
Pmed those that asked
Like I said it’s from one of IGNs commentaries and if you check the wiki you can see what the ships status is listed as
didn't even last three years
It is just a shower thought, and I'm just a normal fan of a VTuber (no romance thingies), but I think there are some resemblance between those things that I previously said.
They did the ship dirty for sure
And the copious amount of new frigates it brought are scattered all over the ring
we nearly had them revealed in the Halo Array lore stream
Ken said during it that he had putthem in the presentation, but had to remove them at the last minute
good watch
How did I not know this exists. Thanks for sharing it.
no prob
they did two of them, but they're both unlisted on the official channel unfortunately
i'll grab the other link too
this one was done to promote the release of Warfleet and goes over how they made the book plus some other bits
i keep asking ken to do another but nothing yet 😦
Awsome thanks again
👌
comically oversized ship
What game
4 and 5
anyways its so comically large
that it can store multiple frigates inside it and launch them
lost it again
5 kilometers long
What game
4 and 5
I don’t know why that sent twice
i dont know why i replied twice
anyways 4 and 5
and possibly infinite idk if it shows up or if its just mentioned
i've never played halo wars 1 or 2 so i don't know much about the banished, but from what i've heard they seems like a really interesting villain and i really hope they aren't just killed off by the end of halo infinite
Would you like to learn more?
they have some interesting stuff in the books too
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Thank you bungie
Yet another reach mystery
How one game could completely screw up lore
not really a lore screw up
there's plenty of characters in every game that have never been elaborated since
not following up on the fate of one of the most minor characters in the series is the most minor issue ever lmao
Is Spartan Locke dead?
I saw a image of a brute with his helmet on his shoulder lol
more helmets of that type exist
Hyperius has the front half of a Hunter-class helmet strapped to his shoulder pauldron, but it’s not really confirmation of Locke’s current status either way.
But it’s identical to locke blue visor and grey helmet
It’s almost certainly meant to be Locke’s helmet but for all we know he could be being held prisoner or something, not necessarily KIA.
If he is held prisoner he would already be dead the brutes are cruel
not necessarily
Well, that would depend on how much they think Locke is worth.
The Banished aren’t dumb. If they think he holds some value then they’ll likely keep him alive.
We’ve already seen Marines held prisoner in Banished camps from campaign footage.
^
They probably would of made him there dinner by now they hate Spartans and would definitely kill them
So if he is captured it would be in good reason
Keep campaign preview spoilers in #485883236430512168
Escharum's side of the Banished hates humans though
Quick question why is spartan have many scars after the augmentation process? What the procedure do to them? Is it like lobotomy or just simple syringe injection like captain america?
If its just a simple syring injection wouldn't make sense to have a body scale scar wouldn't it?
Spartan-IIs received more physically invasive surgical augmentations, hence the prominent scarring.
they didn’t just get needles
Spartan-IIIs received mostly chemically induced augmentations more akin to what happened with Captain America.
they got a lot more than that
I think their augmentations were more surgical
why does the covenant glass every planet they conquer?
Funy cannon
They tend not to, mainly just population centers
like Reach?
Yeah
why did they glass Reach then
They didn't glass the entirety of Reach
That, they don't want to damage Forerunner tech, and it'd be way too much effort to try to glass the entire planet
to add onto Ostral's comment, they often burn holy symbols into the surface
however, it's a long and intensive process
during the glassing of Etalan, the Minor Prophet assigned to the fleet grew bored of waiting and ordered the Fleetmaster to just glass the main continent's supervolcano and let that do the work
Or carving that Covenant glyph onto Kholo's surface
Also requires a long supply line to replenish their plasma
I can imagine that glyph becoming some sort of tourist attraction
And then there's Netherop
I still like to know what species lived on that planet
if i remember correctly the Unggoy were forced to join the covernant, were the other species the same?
It varied
If I remember correctly, the Kig-Yar only joined for monetary reasons
San'Shyuum and Sangheili signed a peace treaty, Kig-Yar signed a contract, and so did the Yanme'e
And the Jiralhanae were discovered after nuking their civilization to the Stone Age
I wonder how the Covenant discovered the Yonhet
The Covenant when they found the Unggoy: Today’s subject, slavery
There’s very few of them so it was probably optional
I still find it quite... entertaining? that the Gravemind essentially just out "nerded" Cortana to insanity
gross oversimplification
Yes, I hope that's why she went rampant and stuff. Would be cool for that to be explained in infinite via the gravemind returning and being like "got ya good".
Since cortanas main goal was to literally disarm the entire galaxy. Would make for easy flood food.
how good are prometheans at dispatching flood?
i don't think we've seen a conflict between them in lore or game
Probably pretty effective against small outbreaks
I'm still terrified that there was a grunt as tall as an elite that did crazy stuff in sparring and choked out a brute. grunts already can rip marines in half having giant grunts would be worse
“Laconia change everything” what do you guys think Spartan Agryna meant when she said that in the Academy cut scene?
As far as we know Laconia has been uninhabited. But I’m wondering if the UNSC had some kind of secret training facility or a base there for the Spartans. She also said we had to regroup and rebuild so making me feel like there was some kind of attack.
We see Grunt Goblins in Halo 5 as a Warzone boss
Surprised humanity has not created anything close to an ecumenopolis in the universe
I am back
Any interesting stuff to talk about
Oof
Who wants to talk about how stupid it was for the covenant to give WHOLE SPECIES a single military role
Imagine if an elite was an utter idiot and could not lead
A ultra-intelligent grunt would still be below them
And let’s say one prophet was a terrible politician, a politically great brute would have less opportunity and rights to lead
It's almost like the covenant wasn't a democratic society and rather have heriarchs and ranks
Luckily for Elites at least, that's not true.
But you get my point
I understand it was not a set in stone rule
But it was often treated as such and there were cultural ways to ensure the species heirarchy
Grunts are already known to have been an intelligent species (that intelligence wasn’t used to it’s real potential because well the covenant is speciest) so I wouldn’t be surprised if a grunt was smarter than an Elite given the right circumstances
Look at grunts and jackals
I agree
I’m so rusty on lore so I apologize if I get anything wrong
The covenant is a Hyper-Speciest theocracy ruled by a bunch of Male Reproduction Organs
Ball
Well yeah but
Along with those problems
I can’t get that out of my brain now
The covenant has Military, Social, and Economic tensions between a bunch of Giant Ape-like things and mandibled dinosaur things
And those same tension between Ugly bird things and Weirdly Cute Arthropod-like brings
The covenant was doomed to fall even before the human covenant war and replacement of elites with brutes
From a political perspective it was ultra unstable and traditional
We all know they have brain inhibiting substances in their methane/nipples
Grunts are literal slaves
And a bunch of space pirates help ensure that low status due to fear of becoming the lowest rank
It wasn’t like that until after the grunt war tho right?
It was worse before the grunt war
They were literally suicide bombers forced to live in a slum with 50 other grunts before the revolt
#GLM Grunt-Lives-Matter
Jackals are scumbags, especially skirmishers
They are Speciest birds
What do the Banished want? Domination of the galaxy? The great journey? Or something else?
They just wanna kill everything that's not them
They are like space nazis?
By this point, pretty much
Of the flood was in Halo infinite then it would probably be rated M
So judging by the subtitles in GameInformer's recent comparison video, the new Pelican in Infinite is seems to be a... D79 variation...?
Funny how London is dominated by super tall building that dwarf the Big Ben
I wanna bring this discussion back up, do you think we will see the flood in infinite?
I sure hope not
They'll probably show it or mention it but I hope it probably won't have a big role
im just going to say think about it logistically
they didn't really have such a big role in the extended universe aside from being space pirates and wrecking havoc on convenant carriers, but them being on zeta halo kinda seems they are looking for something, either some ancient artifiact or something. we'll find out in Infinite
