tartarus boss fight was a bit annoying. with wave of energy emanating off him when charging at arby.
I like how he is still devoted to his cause of killing all of humanity after thousands of years
Ranged only that fight was
Otherwise you get smashed
With the hammer
Yeah, they tried to explain that as like a malfunction in his isolation orb, thingy. Imo, putting him in modern day was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
Old brute pog
of the original
He got the memes
Craig
Well the brutes have gone over many changes
2 they were apes
3 less furry apes and better armor
and bigger too, in 3*
But I wonder how they managed to get the hunters to join the covenant.
Well
Bro somebody just said the ai in halo infinite trailer wasnt good
Bruh
I know this is off-topic, but I've always hoped for a spin-off game where you fight the insurrectionists or even a spin-off where you fight the remnants of the covenant as/alongside the arbiter.
That's like saying halo 3 ain't good
what ai?
I would love a spin off game where in reach you could fight in that battle
Yes, but character ai or the game ai?
It is better than most ai in games
Oh
Probably the enemy
Like the ai of grunts, elites, ect.
I see.
The amount of small details
I reckon a game where Johnson's the main character would be fun. so in other words a prequel.
Elites kamikaze into you if they have grenade
Grunts run
Jackals run
Hunters dont give a ####
Yeah
I HATED HUNTERS
since when do elites kamikaze into you if they have grenades?
Then if you kill a elite you can hear some go "leader dead run"
I think in ce
On your point, about a Johnson prequel; If they just adapted Contact Harvest into a game, it'd be perfect. First introduction of the covenant and you're Johnson! đ
Shoot em in the back and head
Boom problem solved
I rushed thwm
They stood no chancs
I reckon if a prequel about Jacob Keyes were made, it'll either be a movie or a tv series.
Maybe, but if you ever watch the "Fall of Reach" movie, you get a bit of young Keyes there.
Not much, but it's something.
Isnt jacks Keyes the guy in ce that turned to a proto gravemind
That terminal solidified him even more, as a war-hero.
Sure, but if I want to be stealthy, I don't play halo. lmao
I like doing the executions
I suppose it was something to see keyes in fall of reach, but i think they should make a movie about his earlier life. So pre-officer, like a cadet or something.
You know what I want
A halo movie made by a actually really good movie studio that's funded well and has lots of effort put into it
Flash, I wanted the same about Halsey too. It's clear she's done some other crooked things for ONI. A fun little thriller could be written about it, like Hunt the Truth.
ONI is messed up
Facts
in lore ONI is scary
the way how keyes died was really gut-wrenching. A very hard superpunch to the face. Reminded me of the opening scene from the first terminator movie.
Very
oh but he died for a cause
during his death gravemind didnt get any info
he was fighting while he was transformed
he did get info but nothing insanly important
Yeah, he denied them a lot of information.
he fought for many hours
Man when Johnson died I was sad
and chief stopped his missery
Johnson died to a laser, if only chief went up there. He has shields
i know. I wonder what he fed them. I bet part of the information Keyes could have given was what he ordered from the Halo equivalent of McDonald's or any fast food joint. On a tangent, it would be interesting if they made a Halo movie surrounding Del Rio, a.k.a, Captain Overcautious explaining why he is the way he is.
Miranda needed a better death, to even -try- to live up to her father. In hindsight, she just looks so...underwhelming. She could be a fun character on rare occasion, but that's it.
she wasnt to me though
she was bland
and died so easily
way to make ur fathers name look bad
I will never refer to her as Keys
Anyone else thought that in halo 3 master cheif had died and that in 4 they replaced him with another spartan
She had some memorable lines and exchanges is what I mean. She was pretty bland, especially when you look at her by herself.
Yeah my 8 year old imagination right there
nah. Spartans don't die. They go MIA.
Where do we go
"To war"
Completely right
Yeah, they go MIA. Exactly how ONI wants it. lol
Oni is like a corrupt politician
Much worse, sir. Much worse.
But
I think Miranda Keyes is just like one of these junior officers who have some experience but not a lot.
they tried to frame chief
They did somehow hel..
Scuse ms
I donât think the Locust would be bad vehicle to see in a Halo game, maybe not in Multiplayer but definitely in campaign.
Listen to Hunt the Truth if you haven't already. It's the best thing to come out of Halo 5 and perfectly shows ONI at their worst.
for what? Stealing the last chip?
Lmao
What did they frame him for
would johnson survive in a mjolnir armour? i.e. would he be able to utilise it?
Just listen to Hunt the Truth. It's free on youtube. I don't want to spoil it Toasty.
Only spartan 2 can
but wasn't Johnson augmented?
Yes
Oh
Original Orion project.
I think it still wouldnt work on hom though
Johnson was Spartan 1.
Spartan 4s can wear generation 2 mjolnir
You said âonly Spartan 2 canâ
No, if Johnson could wear it, they would've shoved him into a suit, since they threw everything they had at the last battle of earth.
Ok people make mistakes
They can wear the armor but its not good for them and it doesnt benefit
it would prob kill them
eventually
I was meaning between 1 and 2
In fall of reach it legit kills them
^
yeah
Like, kills them right away if they don't have the right augmentations.
It was so gorey.
Anyone not augmented full on like 2 they might as well be dead
I'd rather be shot than get into that suit un-augmented.
They'll need a can-opener to get you out, and bury you. lol
Lol
because I was under the impression that orion soldiers were subjected to muscular enhancement injections, pulmonary respiratory enhancement, etc. etc.
The reason why they didn't give Spartan 1 any mjolnir armour was because, it was mainly a failure, with the augmentations. and therefore it wouldn't be cost effective to make a few more for spartan 1s.
Probably were but not as much as 2's
These augmentations
Cam kill you
Very much
thats my theory on why spartan 1s didn't get armour.
It's also the same reason why Halsey lost the funding for more spartan 2's; She couldn't find subjects quite like the first batch, to guarantee it wasn't a waste of time.
So then the Spartan 3 program happened with a different project-head.
Yeah no kidnap child
whats the success rate for spartan 4s?
pretty high
Wayyy higher.
I think Buck described the difference best; "It's safer, but we're not like the gods of old- The Spartan 2's. We're like demigods but we live longer.."
Wonder what SPARTAN-Vs will be?
I mean spartan 4 success rates compared to 3's
But 3's ended up on suicide runs more often than not.
Who would have won if master cheif and locke were trying to kill eachother
Chief.
Chief
Spartan 2's are the best of the best, but then...it gets better; Chief also got evolved even further by the Librarian.
I meant the augmentation rate of success between Spartan 3 and 4? Is it the same or is there a difference?
Probably the same
chief has his end planned
Pretty sure they were both basically 100% success rates
Well, actually...3's success rate is worse according to the wiki.
how could we ever forget that?
which wiki are you referring to?
My mistake.
its close
They just dont make em like they used too
I mixed it up.
does that include 1?
1s are dead
Yeah
but i bet some are retired.
They all died
wait are we counting Kevin Morales as part of official halo canon or nah?
Legends? I know several shorts in there, that aren't.
I recall that there was an alternate reality game that got developed. i'm not saying the name cause it sounds ridiculous
Legends is canon except for Odd One Out, though all the visuals in all the shorts are the animators' own ideas, so don't put any stock into them
I'm not referring to the odd one out. I was referring to 42 entertainment
whatever that is
Did you guys know there's a fighting game (forget which one) that managed to get a licensing deal, so they got a spartan in their game.
Idk if it's canon, but I found it funny.
Also, I doubt that's canon, since it was only there to promote a halo game, not add to it's universe.
but i wonder if johnson could put up a good fight against Chief. Say hypothetically if a spartan 1 went up against a 2
What about, with no armour?
John would still easily beat him
even with hand to hand, no armour, no weapons?
S1s' augments weren't all that powerful
he had better augs
can spartans swim with armour?
or like just survive, should a pelican that they're on crash land onto a body of deep water
i think no, because maybe of the armor's restrain?
because i think the spartan armor predict the owners movement or something, so some kind of action may be locked or dont have the feature, i dunno
it is part of the body
pretty much
the armor reads everything
its like extra strong skin
but armour is heavy
no
its like skin
no weight
its as if nothing is there
it becomes there body
so much technology goes into it
as why it is the most tech filled thing in halo lore
and? far heavier things float in water
I wonder how in the Halo universe people are communicating with one another, assuming that phones are most likely out of use in that time period.
I forgot about that. It's been a while since i was in high school so i may have forgotten some stuff learnt in science class
Ear pieces?
maybe
idk
maybe the ONI takes all the important tech
idk
they prob use phone or computer
or stuff that still look like phones just use more advanced methods of transmitting data
tac com bro
At least, they're not using fax or morse code or carrier pigeons.
noble 6 be like I dont have phone so ill send bird
pretty sure civvies won't be using any tactical (insert phrase)
woh?
And i don't think social media is a thing in the time period halo is set in.
maybe it has been deleted due to hoax
C:
although some might say that SpaceTube could be invented.
waypoint is their internet, they definitely have social media
they maybe use Earthube by now haahhahaha
imagine the memes of the 26th Century
probably it'll be images of grunts getting kicked
srgt. Johnson killed by a flying r2d2 -present
Srgt. Johnson killed by an AI -26th centuries
i get tons of supply cache in Halo odst :
:0
Chief got fooled by the same robot twice
Hey, I don't blame him, he's cute
true
btw, me looking at the Fanbase is very true just like in the rumors
Is it safe to assume that alcohol can't affect spartans just because their augmented?
uh no-yes, because alcohol can effect everyone, not because they are augmented
but, augmented means higher metabolism
Alcohols goes inside a person's body , and blablabla science system stuffff , the main thing is Alcohol can make a spartan go drunk and every person's alcoholic resistents is different, so they can get drunk, and alcohols make a human person's metabolisme and muscle strength go down
but they still can drop
have you not use basic science to your question?
C:
or maybe i wrong :((
if im wrong, then srry
Is it safe to assume that alcohol can't affect spartans just because their augmented?
Ehh.
At most I would think they have a higher tolerance for alcohol but I doubt theyâre outright unaffected.
they still can get effected but they need more longer time right?
and why is this topic just like what is my topic in my head several hours ago
I donât think thereâs any official information on how Spartans metabolize alcohol differently from unaugmented humans, so... canât really say anything for sure.
true
oh yeah anyone every think what if every single spartan learns deadly martial arts or something, they could do a one hit kill to any covenant
no
:C
I like the idea of something being formed to fight one threat and then bring repurposed to fight an even greater threat
nice
Is it just me or are energy swords in a way disposable? I mean everytime it's used it decreases in battery power? So would that mean a covenant elite will dispose of it after its power supply is depleted?
It's presumably decreased way less in actuality, with a handy way of recharging it as well
Are needlers and carbines still technically shooting plasma?
I ask because it's sorta hard to tell.
Needlers shoot a projectile made from Blamite from one of the moons of Sanghelios, the home of the Elites
Most Covenant Carbines use radioactive coated rounds but the one seen in Halo 5 uses rounds without the radioactive coating
There's also the Blood of Suban Carbine as well, which uses Blamite rounds, making it function similar to the Needle Rifle from Reach
Thank you for clearing that up. Glad there's some variety there. đ
Actually that same "evolvement" can be applied to any known Reclaimer. Chief isn't the only special one, although Chief is the only one who had his evolutionary traits accelerated by the Librarian.
We don't know what traits he gained specifically, only that he became immune to the Composer and possibly other things to.
Right, I wasn't saying he was the best spartan or anything; I was saying that Spartan II + Librarian Evolution = Profit..? lol
The augmentation rates of S-IV's is pretty much 100% guarantee survival. The only ones that didn't survive were the super early S-IV's, which could technically be considered better S-II's but largely failed with the only survivor being Ilsa Zane who went insane from the augmentation process. The rest all died from the augmentations. If we're talking strengths, Ilsa Zane is the strongest Spartan to ever be created, capable of disarming a S-IV and even taking on multiple S-IV's at once while they're in full armor (one of those S-IV's being Palmer) with Ilsa Zane having no armor at all.
For the S-IV's we see now, they're pretty much slightly better S-III's with the armor making them match S-II's. The only thing the S-II's have over S-IV's is experience realistically.
S-III's didn't have a 100% survival rate until the final batch, but required training from a S-II (Kurt) to reach there full potential. In a way they could be just as good as S-II's at times, but were more talkactive, and had more of a "fight until you die" analogy because they largely wanted revenge against the Covenant.
Then, objectively speaking, based on everything you've laid out here; Would you say Spartan II's would have an edge in a fight with a Spartan IV, or visa-versa...or is it truly a toss up?
If it was a fight to the death* because we were originally wondering who would win in a life or death fight between Locke and Chief.
S-II's have the edge due to experience and better training/fast communication skills that rely far more on body movements then actual talking like S-IV's do.
Ahh, I see. Fair enough.
S-II's have also been quite a bit faster then S-IV's on average and more responsive based off the lore.
Does their speed have to do with differing augmentations or is it unknown, what variable contributes to that?
The games really don't do most S-IV's justice tbh. Fireteam Osiris is a better example of what most S-IV's are like, the only out liner being that Locke was a trained ONI specialist.
Well, true. I never did look into Locke's training...like, in-depth anyway.
Mostly augmentation related, due to the S-II's augmentations being more invasive and direct body modifications along with specific gene traits that Halsey chose herself.
The S-IV's largely don't have those same specialized genes, and on average require specific gene therapys and tons of temporary drugs before they're ready for combat at all. Surgery is also performed, replacing pretty much 90% of all there organs besides the brain itself.
You can read about S-IV augmentations here https://www.halopedia.org/Project_ORCHID
S-II augmentations here https://www.halopedia.org/Project_ASTER
I think I understand. I've bookmarked the links, thanks for those.
The augmentations are kind of funny though. I read them out to a friend of mine, just getting into halo for the first time, and he busted out laughing because we both know these procedures would be painful and would kill you IRL.
The organs of S-II's didn't need replacing because they were already perfect due to key genes for example
While with S-IV's most if not all organs require replacing entirely, or modifications.
Idk if someone has already pointed this out before, but the organ thing is unsettling to say the least. It'd be freaky to know most of my organs weren't my originally body parts. Even if it meant I was a superhuman afterward.
The difference is, beyond joints being modified/replaced, and the organs being modified/replaced, that's about all the surgery a S-IV goes through. The rest is just gene and hormone therapy's which according to Buck lasted an entire 3 weeks.
By comparison S-II's had direct surgery onto there eyes, the bones being modified directly with materials being grated right onto them either through full on surgeries at once, or multiple different surgeries across the body in a pattern (this is why S-II's have scares pretty much all across there arms, body, legs, etc).
A direct platinum pellet is placed directly onto the Thyroid gland which pushes against it to increase muscle, and skeletal growth.
They also had multiple injections all over there muscles to increase muscle strength and growth as well (in combination with the thyroid implant).
And alterations of there "bioeletrical nerve transduction", basically your nervous system was altered directly.
S-II modifications were more or less done over night, with the healing process taking weeks to months at a time.
Yeah, so Spartan II's were gutted and rebuilt, practically. lol.
I remember reading a bit about what Buck said though.
S-III's were the least invasion of them all, but still had strict genetic requirements and could only be accepted in at a young age. There augmentations also started at a younger age vs the S-II's, with the S-III's being augmented on average at age 12, while the the S-II's on average were augmented at age 14. Due to where the S-III's largely came from (being orphans due to the Covenant war largely), this also meant they had the most behavior problems of them all.
The augmentations were more or less mostly injection based to, and I'd probably say only a 1-5% failure rate between each batch. Gamma company had illegal drugs injected into there systems to make them more aggressive during battle to. Some genetic modification also happened due to these injections.
S-IV's is more or less a huge combination of S-III's and S-II augmentations when you think about it, while being much safer and being applied to adults. The only difference is just experience and S-II's being slightly faster on average.
@normal shard more if you wanna read
I'd assume with the S-II's being slightly faster on average is probably what allowed Chief to dodge most of Locke's attacks and take the "armor lock" device type thing from him once he managed to piss chief off by breaking his visor in Halo 5 to.
ey atleast we got an armor lock ability cameo in H5
The organs of S-II's didn't need replacing because they were already perfect due to key genes for example
Well, no, that's really not why. Spartan-II genetics only really mattered because of the risks of the augmentation process. Spartan-IVs receive organ modifications and replacements to increase their endurance and survivability in the field.
Good morning my Halo Friends! Any idea which are best books to begin studying Halo Lore?
đ
Did the UNSC issue and phase out multiple MA5 variants in a matter of months (between CE and 3) or are all MA5 variants issued at once and distributed among different branches and units? (like the M16/M4 and its variants today)
When you're at war on such a grand scale it would make some sense to constantly be innovating your weaponry and trying to distribute it as fast as possible
Right, but introducing and then phasing out so many variations in such short order would be a smidge ridiculous.
MA5Ds are seen in use as early as 2525 so I would imagine the MA5 variants largely coexisted at the same time.
Within the space of a few months, it'd be highly unlikely they'd come up with two brand new versions of a rifle and deploy them widespread
@feral apex always best to start with The Fall of Reach, followed by The Flood, First Strike, and Ghosts of Onyx. If you are interested in deeper lore, the Forerunner trilogy and Broken Circle are excellent choices, as are Silent Storm and Oblivion
Thanks alot! I have alot of to catch up on
which book talks about the grunt rebellion? Also any good youtube channels that explain the halo lore?
@feral apex Broken Circle, a covenant-based novel, mentions the rebellion in the 2nd half. The first half however takes place in 852-850 BC
For sure and also any reccomendations for top youtube channels that explain halo lore?
Well personally prefer halopedia, but if you want YouTube, Covenant Canon is a great place for lore on the alien alliance
Cool cool I will defenitely check it out. Halo is like Microsofts version of Star Wars. Infinite possibilitys
I cant wait to study it after work
I know the UNSC used the MA5B as an LMG after it was pretty much phased out of being the standard issue rifle by the MA5C
Source on it somehow being used as an LMG despite the fact the weapon does not fit the description of an LMG?
oof nevermind
And S-II's already had those endurance and survivability options in the field because of specific genes they already had. So they didn't need extensive organ replacements.
You can even see this irl to, for example some Divers can hold there breath for much longer then other people regardless as to how much you train, just because biologically they have better lungs then you do. This is all gene related.
This is also kinda why certain Spartans were capable of being taller then others, and it's a on going thing with all Spartan programs, from the S-I's to the S-IV's. While the augmentations definitely play a role, the genes you already have also play a role.
the gene candidacy had less to do with strength and more with compatibility with the augmentation procedures
I mean I seriously doubt basic genetics put the Spartan-II candidates that much further above ânormalâ humans compared to the augmentations that ORCHIDâs organ replacement and modification was capable of.
Genes don't play a role in just strength, the compatibility with the augmentations is what allowed them to get as far as they did. Without them, it just doesn't work.
Iâm not going to deny that their genes did provide some physical advantages compared to most humans, but they were primarily a filter to make sure not all of them died during the augmentations.
Based off the lore it's probably why they're a bit more responsive, fast learners, and speak the way they do in general.
S-IV's require lengthy gene therapy processes just to make the compatible at all, but that's usually what advancements in technology does.
the only gene therapy mentioned for the SIVs is telomere lengthening
gene/hormone therapies.
hormone therapy is things like steroids
Organ implantation - "The Spartans also undergo treatments to prevent organ rejection"
Gene therapy - "Spartans undergo an extensive gene therapy, which involves the lengthening of the telomeres and increasing the effectiveness of chondrocytes"
Endcap augmentation - "The Spartan is subjected to hormone-regulation therapies and their bioprofile is archived."
"The SPARTAN-IV augmentation procedures, at least for the first and second classes of the program, take three weeks to perform, with the Spartans in and out of surgeries and advanced therapies during this time."
"The final steps of the augmentations are an assurance of hormonal regulation and the archiving of the subject's bioprofile"
Chim, not sure if you still need this considering somebody posted concept art, but yeah, Elites do have tongues.
Donât need it anymore
Righteo
I already knew but wanted an elite aficionado to confirm. But you were late
Curse my need for sleep.
I found sources contradicting each other; Does anyone know if Skirmishers are actually extinct or not?
They are not
Ah, okay. Good, I'm glad they're not gone.
The source for them being extinct came from a gaming magazine before Reach came out that misinterpreted a joke as a fact
Oh, oof. Thanks for clearing that up. It confused me.
đ
Ostro!
its been awhile gamers
its ja boy back again for more game theory
today's question. Covie Olympics?
I wouldn't be surprised if the alien races hosted sport events.

Make sense for elites too
this is stupid but imagine a Scarab with a drone nest on it, It would be like that picture of a snail that had a wasp nest on it
From one of the halo 2 Cutscenes arbiter was fighting another elite with staffs
And the other elite hot eaten by a squid when he lost
when?
When did the Arbiter attack another Elite in Halo 2?
During a H2A terminal, it shows him training with a staff against other Elite trainees.
Oh, whoops, answered Chim in The wrong chat. Thought I was in here
Indeed
Like I said, I just got off workđ and since it was a Sangheili question, I make sure it is given an answer
I knew the answer, I pinged yâall as confirmation for what I already knew, for some one elseâs edification
Ah, well my work here is done I guess
Your services are no longer required
That sounded oddly cold đ¤Ł
Itâs what Iron Monger said to Pepper Potts before trying to kill her
What a jerk.
knew it sounded familiar
Is there an in universe reason as to why Installation 05 had a different appearance for its control room than Installation 04, while 04 seems to have the same layout as 07?
There are theories that the control room used was a secondary one, while the room the Gravemind is in was the main one
I've played that game how many times and never noticed gravemind was in a control room
its a little hard to notice without mods, even if your looking for it
Have heard that theory before, it is an entering idea and does make sense. Look at the ark for example. It had two control rooms
what happened to the domain after the firing of the rings
It would be pretty dumb for the galactic superpower that is the forerunner empire not to have a backup plan for if the flood take control of a control room
It got fried and needed to be reset to begin repairs
ok thanks
I still always find it funny post Forerunner trilogy. The Forerunners knew of the flood before their war with the flood began, but still treated them as overall trivial. Meanwhile the Covenant, or at least the Sangheili, knew to just burn the plague and didn't fool around
your right
and why does the forerunner kept the flood in capsules in the halo rings, thats dumb
To continue searching for a cure
There are treatments to kill parasites in your body, yes
Ad I assume the Forerunners wanted to create something that would be able to reverse the mutations that the Flood did
And prevent the Flood from mutating you in the first place
Best they could ever do was slow thr infection down for a victim, as shown in Primordium
Really the forerunner idea of the mantle hamstrung them in taking care of the flood in totality like the Sangheili and ancient humans did.
Are humans canon in halo
yes
Nope.
hoomans wha-
Humans aren't real.
Which one do I trust?
I am the most trustworthy person on Discord.
Correct
No ODST stands for
Obviously
D isnât
S real
T duh
lol
No it stands for
O Jamie Foxx
D has
S a
T weave
Whatever happened to Nairobi during the Battle of Earth
You think spec ops drones are a thing?
The MA5B's 60 round mag isn't "canon" per se
So how would ONI explain the Portal at Voi if people start asking questions about the giant alien artifact that is north of Mombasa?
We just dont
Swamp gas reflecting off of Venus
I would imagine that they would quarantine the areas of Mombasa that are closest to the Portal at Voi
So after this Created fiasco is over, I can imagine that there is going to be a lot of anti-A.I sentiment and numerous laws would be passed that would restrict the capabilities of A.I
Thoughts?
Most likely
And frankly, I would be on board with that anti-A.I sentiment because I do NOT trust A.I
Dont ever trust en
No itâs Other Dudes Severely Terminated
Would Noble six actually stand a chance against Master Chief?
Yes.
You do this to hurt me
Wdym
hyper lethal what?
Vector
Hyper-lethal applies to all spartans now, and was only ever started as a marketing term to make gamers feel good about playing as Noble Six.
why?
Ah well I didnât know that
And really just sounds edgy.
Fair
Only one thing hyper lethal in halo. The Halos
No one answered if spec ops drone could be a thing
I doubt it, they were more often used as engineers and technicians alongside the huragok.
Idk if grunts can be spec ops I really donât see why Droneâs canât be
Because they proved themselves to the Sangheili during their rebellion. They proved they could be trained to be better fighters.
They did also fill infiltration roles as well, so maybe they were used in some capacity. Main roles though, were still as techs and as ambush squads, like Ado said.
Perhaps, but he's a SPARTAN-III. SPARTAN-II's are far superior.
They really aren't
The augmentations used for the SPARTAN-III program were just as effective as those of the SPARTAN-II program, except less expensive and significantly safer. Training program for the -IIIs was also improved from that of the -IIs.
The only major "deficiency" of the -IIIs compared to the -IIs was that SPI was cheaper and offered less protection and weaker strength enhancement, but it did its job as infiltration gear pretty well. So even then it wasn't necessarily worse than MJOLNIR, it just served a different purpose.
Not that armor would be relevant in this instance because B312 was one of the few Spartan-IIIs to be issued MJOLNIR.
Anyone know where zeta halos monitor is?
On Zeta Halo
OK? I guess, like after the outbreak wasn't he also infected by logic plague?
Zeta Halo's monitor hasn't been logic plagued as far as we know
While there was an outbreak on Zeta Halo, it was cleaned up long ago before thing was fired alongside the rest of the array
And the monitors weren't assigned their rings until right before the rings were fired
Isn't it assumed that a fragment of Mendicant Bias occupies Zeta Halo?
It did at one point but not anymore
Good morning Everyone! I Hope you all Have a Great Halo Day!

That's not the monitor of Zeta
MB wasnât always fragmented. There was only 2 times when he was split apart, but both times he eventually all came back together
Zeta Halo was the location of his core housing unit, but he had a mobile housing unit too
I donât think he ever implied that lol
MB seems to be a very intriguing character.
More like seemed
I was under the assumption that his current status is unknown.
Retconned to unknown
He should have stayed officially dead but I guess 343 likes brining back characters
I don't oppose the decision, but I respect your belief.
To be fair, halo 3 was somewhat vague on his fate. Only he thought he would perish
Heâd know best
Perhaps
if Johnson was immune to the flood its very possible that others could be too right
Johnson wasn't immune
Wish people knew that he wasn't and that all it was is he was lucky to escape
Any form of flood immunity outside of literally turning into a promethean has long been retconned out of existence
Wasn't the exact retcon that that was a given cover up reason to hide his orion augs from record when he made a quick recovery or something?
You mean Boren's Syndrome? That's been a thing since First Strike when Johnson was revealed to have survived
Chances are you've heard of Gray Team, the team that commited a next level war crime by killing 1 billion Sanghelli AFTER the war ended.
How and Why did they do something like that, you're asking?
They didnât know the war ended
I think we're all aware of the context here, yeah.
dang 1 billion
Well "how" is becuase they Snuck a Novabomb (the most powerful non-forerunner, non-ancient human or non-precursor weapon) on a populated Sanghelli world.
For why, this and that they were ordered before they war ended.
I thought Sapien Sunrise was bad
i don't blame half the sangheili for turning back to the covenant
NOVA bombs still don't make any sense at all. Especially for a human weapon of all things.
1 billion probably should've just started another war outright
A fleetmaster saw his homeworld destroyed like that. And don't ask me how Grey Team lived or how they were forgiven.
Rojka was able to eventually find forgiveness in his heart and be the better man
Well they worked for ONI, and that messed up company (ignores the rifle now pointed at my skull) would've wanted the Elites dead no matter what so a threat that was never going to happen anyways would not be able to happen.
I think most people understand that ONI at the very least, is one shady organization
Not just shadowy, what would happen is EVERYTHING classified about them was leaked on the internet?
1 word: Anarchy
Yeah humans be prejudiced like that
I mean you can say that about any organization that keeps secrets from the public, they do it for a reason
The UEG might be able to salvage thing by declaring ONI a rogue agency that did everything without their knowledge.
(Which is partly true)
Remove the word party from the message and it's true.
Are there any consequences to travelling through Slipspace?
Radiation poisoning if you arenât properly shielded
Don't forget just poofing out of existence if your drive isn't in good shape
ONI isn't a company. They're an intelligence organisation that's part of the UNSC
A ship can simply vanish when its Slipspace drive malfunctions?
Yup. Forever lost in slipspace
Sounds like a relatively painless demise.
Maybe, maybe not, it is a universe after all where god-like beings seek to bring ruin to all of existence
I doubt that a plane of existence is sentient.
I wonder if a ship being lost in slip space will make it into a mission one day
how will it end
@versed helm I was thinking more the Precursors being able to control it
You speak of a species that no longer exists.
For all we know there may also be extragalactic Precursors, so...
Nope, donât believe anyone that says the precursors are still alive, the precursors are 100% gone
I wonder if there will be a new enemy race, like never heard of in lore, brand new
Like the Precursors would be cool if they somehow came back, I guess they will be like the Halo equivalent of The Darkness
The precursors are still around, no one said their entire race was in the milky way
Like the Precursors would be cool if they somehow came back
Only if you want to seriously handicap their capabilities.
Bringing the closest species that Halo has to straight up gods into the games would be a bad move.
And just bringing them back in general, really.
I can picture a situation where a lone survivor encounters one. It would be similar to the interactions between the Sea Emperor and the player in Subnautica.
So the Precursors arenât really the Darkness of Halo, like mysterious then one day they arrive
Starvation and dehydration are painless? What about if life supper fails?
I think you overestimate this considering all the CIA documents and stuff that have been made public over the years.
Well this is ONI we're talking about. CIA is still nothing compared to ONI.
Most of humanity probably would not care about that planet coming off of 27 years of getting curb stomped
I was assuming that the ship would explode.
into people eating each other to survive
At that point just nuke the ship
It really does considering for it not to exist you'd have to somehow believe that their wouldn't be any advancement in nuclear weapons or weapons of mass destruction in 500 years.
The bomb would need to deploy 225 million Yotta Joules to destroy a planet like a NOVA bomb does. For a nuke to have that power, it will have to weigh 9 quadrillion tonnes. The Mantle's Approach (about the size of high Charity), weighs half of that, at 4.7 quadrillion tonnes.
The meteor that killed the dinosaurs exerted only 1.3 to 58 yottajoules
Forget the metor, the mars-sized proto planet that hit earth still failed to truly blow apart the planet
I don't see why technology to put out that much damage wouldn't be smaller by that point in time, think about the fact that your phone now has more computing power than NASA had when trying to get a spaceship to land and by the same logic hyperdrive or any faster than light travel system wouldn't make sense either.
Again Hyperspace and faster than light travel is already breaking physics
I don't see why a nuke can't
Was Glyke completely destroyed? I thought it only cracked the planetâs surface?
Blown to pieces
Completely destroyed with only drifting space debris left
Speakinf of, got a quote Ostral?
Hm?
For Glyke? Somewhere, but I don't feel like fishing it out, and Halopedia corroborates my story.
Anyway, it was explained as "nine fusion warheads encased in lithium triteride armor" that when detonated, boosts the "thermonuclear yield a hundredfold"
That explanation is pretty bad for something like this
If I recall, it also threw out enough radiation to pierce through the planet's crust, and down into the core
Now youâre getting into 40k levels of absurd
Ya see one reason why I dislike it
Agreed, I can see the Covenant having a weapon like that, but not humans
Not really. Physicists have often theorized the existence of multiple dimensions and the folding of space time as a means to travel faster than light (since a body with mass can never travel at c, only approach c)
While we donât have the technology to really prove those things, the theories are there, so it doesnât really break physics to have things like slipspace as a means of FTL
Itâs not like ignoring conservation of mass or lowering the total entropy of a closed environment
Funny how weird those theories can go
So why did Regret's carrier make a huge explosion in New Mombasa, when it made a slipspace jump? I've always wondered why that happened.
Atmosphere makes things more explody
Huh. Was that explosion lethal or was it like an emp of some kind?
More of an EMP, or something
Gotcha.
EMP yeah
Since ODST kinda starts right after they all get hit by it
Originally it was implied to be lethal
See, I was never sure if the ODST's got hit by it or if they just got knocked away by the force of the outskirts of it. In other words, I couldn't be sure of its non-lethality.
Well it did kill those ODSTs that moved ahead of thr main squad. Older mp maps and a marine comment implied it wiped out humans and covenant along with the city.
Oh huh. Thanks for that, I didn't know that.
Older mp maps and a marine comment implied it wiped out humans and covenant along with the city.
@terse lava
Oh?
@gilded mason mhm, the marine comment from bungie.net: After the Covenant Carrier jumped there were some areas of Mombasa where plasma pistols covered the ground like leavesâthat maneuver killed a bunch of dudes on both sides." Looks like I mis remembered the mp map though, as High Ground just calls it the "slipspace event"
Ah
The jump created a concussive wave that caused damage around it. It wasnât nuke-levels of concussion but it was enough to weaken the space elevator
Ah, I see. I forgot about that elevator. lol.
when did the didact first appear in halo
Depends
The first reference to a Didact was in Halo 3âs terminals
Then the forerunner trilogy established there were two didacts: Ur and Iso. Ur was the original, iso a clone of sorts
Halo 4 was the first true appearance of Didact in the games
If there was two, which Didact was the one in halo 4?
Ur
After the Halos fired 100,000 years ago, he and the rest of the surviving Forerunners went to go reset the Domain. After that, he and Chant-to-Green traveled to a far away and isolated world in another galaxy to raise their son without much technology
So he's probably dead by now
Oh I see. Was it the Andromeda Galaxy? I've always wondered what's there in the Halo universe.
Path kethona
Ah, well dang.
So I was reading about ANVIL and all of its lore because the current MCC season made me curious; Does it imply that the multiplayer is like, wargames on that station or is there no real canon for multiplayer? I couldn't seem to find the answer for what multiplayer is, if anything.
MCC might be canonically in wargames, yes. H4 is, at the very least. And the others might also be, retroactively.
But anyway, the rest don't have to be on Anvil
Since it's canon that Infinity has a bunch of Sangheili onboard
I see. So one could be, at least though but not all?
"Maybe."
Nah, it's fine. I'm happy to help.
It's very much appreciated. So far I've learned a lot from you folks; Especially you, Ostral.
âşď¸
lol
I wonder how long it'll take to reach Andromeda in the Haloverse
The forerunners could at a reasonable time frame
While itâs unknown how fast their slipspace was, itâs generally assumed to be around 11k light years a day
I donât know if slipspace is one of those things that varies much in speed.
The speed you travel through slipspace is dependent on the speed of your ship and the quality of your slipspace drive
Also apparently certain routes can be made faster by âpowering upâ the portals that lead to them
Which is dumb but tragic solitude did it so w/e
Oh, do you mean like the Ark portal on earth?
Well the forerunners had numerous portals throughout their ecumene for quicker travel.
Their capital itself alone had a fair amount around it large enough to transport the older 30k dm sized halos through
Isnât maethrillian like 60k miles long in diameter?
So I'm a bit confused about something. In Halo 2, when Regret's fleet arrives, we see Longswords, frigates etc receive the order from Lord Hood to form a defensive perimeter around the cluster of Mac-Platforms. So why are boarding craft able to even get through, and attack the platforms? The entire home fleet versus some fighters maybe and boarding craft doesn't seem like the boarding crafts would make it through.
I mean it was regretâs fleet so not like it was a small number of them. Also covenant ships are canonically more technologically advanced.
But my point is that the fleet wasn't even used until the platforms were out of the way. So how did an entire human fleet fail at dealing with fighters and boarding craft only? lol
Because large ships struggle to deal with smaller craft like fighters and boarding craft
I didn't know they did. I figured, with that many frigates firing Archer missiles, it wouldn't have been that difficult (plus Longswords)
Well they wouldnât make them if that wasnât the case. If big ships are always better than several small ships then just make big ships instead
Guys which comics or stories should start with If I am new to Halo in Books?
Probably release order
Ok thanks
From just looking at the battle itself, the Covenant had plenty of ships storming in and the Orbital defense platforms were constantly firing. The Frigates were also all in constant battle, we even see a Halcyon cruiser blow up.
The reason why they were able to break through in some areas is because they're small craft, thousands of them at that. The rest of the defense is up to the ODP's and others.
and @normal shard
All Halo MP's are canonically considered part of War Games. I don't really know the status behind Anvil Station, but every single Halo MP is part of the War Games simulation. They even have map ID's and more for each one.
Anvil is canon as of the last MCC update
@terse lava @gilded mason @main hill We don't know how big the planet Glyke was though, for all we know it was probably smaller then Earth or even Mars. We do know the bomb was detonated directly on the surface of the planet though.
By comparison, a NOVA bomb was detonated right next to Joyous Exultation. Which, while it scored a quarter of the planets surface, heated the atmosphere quite extensively, and effectively shattered the planets moon and much of the fleet, it didn't crack the planet itself. It just turned it into an extreme planet that you wouldn't want to live on anymore.
@warm ridge We also have no reason to believe it was smaller then Earth or Mars
How rare are nova bombs though?
I remember hearing someone say it was as rare as finding an atom bomb in 1945
Figure pretty rare, as I am willing to bet they were developed after the war began to fight the Covenant.
I should try and get point of light ASAP
Looking forward to it
Tuesday? But it doesn't come out till March
Some sellers are already selling it
Nova bomb? Isnât that Destiny?
Very little in sci fi is really unique these days. Names get reused all the time
All the good sci-fi ideas are taken, long live science fiction
Just look at all the franchises with a place called Arcadia or Meridian
Or just Cadia
Why did the forerunners allow humans to activate their artifacts
The Librarian wanted humans to take over "guiding" the galaxy, so she made sure Reclaimers could activate the Forerunners' advanced tech easily.
đ
I'm surprised Halo doesn't have a colony named Citadel
Don't believe so
I decided to look it up and all I found out for sure, is that Officer is a sub-rank of Major and has a few more specific tasks, and not all of them are combat oriented apparently.
why do grunts need methane tanks for?
To breathe
They breathe methane
what? They breathe methane? Doesn't explain why sometimes when i shoot one, they go flying like balloons and other times they don't.
Gameplay is different
They breathe methane?
They always have, since CE.
I mean if a bullet punctures a tank of what is presumably compressed methane...
Yeah, it makes perfect sense. If you hit their methane tank, it propels their corpse until it explodes because....methane.
The explosion can be epic, though.
Or destroying the Grunt from inside out.
So basically don't light a cigarette around the grunts. lol
It makes me curious as if there was an AP rounds goes inside it, it should explode without severing it.
I wonder who formed the majority of the covenant?
i.e. the one with high membership numbers
San'Shyuum and Sangheili were the first
the majority
well if we count worms then wouldn't they make up most of the covenant
Uh, probably grunts or Yanme'e
I would imagine the Unggoy made up the biggest chunk of the Covenant's population, then probably followed by Sangheili.
Though I dunno how we're counting Lekgolo.
Just wondering why grunts let themselves be abused by other species in the covenant.
They lashed out once
actually 19 times
It got their homeworld partially glassed, but did make Elites respect them more
Oh yeah
the grunts could probably overthrow the covenant if they did it in a coordinated effort
they outnumber everyone else
It is the reason the rebellion was cut down so harshly
Before they rebelled, they were weaponless meatshields. Only after were they even firearms
Is it just me or do the Jackals exhibit cowardly traits?
well
Generally, people enjoy not dying.
if you saw a 7 foot tall armored soldier demolishing your best soldiers and commanders
would you want to stick around?
Tell that to the elites who don't care about getting shot
Yeah the Kig-Yar have never been known as brave. They prefer profit and plunder over combat
Well the Sangheili also have a warrior culture
Idiotic ones donât, others try to actually avoid getting hit
i don't think the ones getting hit with a gravity hammer will care for long
I see.
Speaking of which, how do hunters look like without armour. Are they just worms that build each other up as a big organism?
Yep
There's an image of them without armor facing off against the Arbiter of the time
rest in pepperoni Black Team
Why are they called Black Team?
Cause Didact put out their lights
boooo
I wonder if the Banished or the SOF crew came across the Anodyne Spirit
The former did, yes.
oh wait never notice hunters actually have hands
Correction: you don't see them
If hunters are just worms that can connect and shape...
Does that mean you can have an eifel tower of lekgolo worms?
Scarabs are operated by them,
As are locust's
I mean, is there anything that doesn't stop the lekgolo from becoming the eiffel tower?
This may sound stupid but it kinda leads onto "can the lekgolo be used as living structures like temporary outposts and etc"
An Eiffel tower replica made of squishy worms probably doesnât provide have much strategic value for the Covenant
Like you want a reusable outpost behind enemy lines that leaves no trace, why not have it formed of lekgolo
I mean...theyâre worms...with all the normal biological functions associated with being worms.
So your outpost is going to be crapping on you and eating your metal.
đ¤
Arenât Locusts unique to the scarab class as they are the only one that doesnât actually use Lekâgolo worms
IIRC there were 3 lekgolo vehicles
Scarabs, locusts and one other
Harvesters, thats it
I've been listening to alot of the halo books but I might have missed a detail. Do all spartan 3s need smoothers or was that only gamma company?
Only Gamma
Cool thank you
I learn all my halo lore from today's sponsor: Audible
I was thinking it would be real weird if noble 6 just broke into a psychotic breakdown in the middle of the campaign
âTier-one: Type-30 Locusts are designated as tier-one Excavators,[1] designed primarily as offensive tools with no apparent Lekgolo operators.[3] â Halopedia quote
Interesting I dont know what locusts are but ima go look they up
O h
Those things
Hey guys, hope you do fine. What are the best halo sources of information beside Halopedia?
You could always read through the books.
The best source outside of Halopedia is the novels, games and comics when it comes to the best info
Halopedia is a secondary source, primary sources are the gold standard
Did humanity ever attempt to control the Prometheans?
Well cortana got control of them while fighting juls covenant
Humanity, more specifically the UNSC, has not attempted to gain control over the Prometheans. Honestly, I hope they don't gain control of them
Doubt they even could
I notice in Halo 3: ODST, the ODST's helmets are different shapes; Did they make a lot of different helmet designs?
this is smth I also am interested to know
the ODST units were always too great and too varied
Thereâs a lot of variations
When it comes to the UNSC, any piece of gear you see probably has at least five variations.
Its like that comment about the M9 Frag; theres six or more physical variations, but they're all still called the M9. No designation between them, and they're all produced by different companies apparently.
How did the Elites view the ODSTs during the Covenant War? Did these units earn their respect?
A few times I believe yes. Nizat seemed annoyed by their resilience to his mind warpers and one of Thel's fellow zealots respected one left behind
They were called imps as heard in ODST.
That was a title applied by the Brutes.
How many Marines would you need to kill a brute in hand to hand?
That entirely depends on context
Nah it's an open arena fight
Cause like one marine with a lucky stab to the jugular could do it
No weapons mate
If they don't have weapons, the Brute can likely take on 50 unaugmented humans easily.
Iâm assuming if itâs a Minor brute probably just a squad, assuming a squad of marines is like a military squad in real life of 9 troops
Oh you mean in hand to hand
I think saying 50 is a bit much, Iâd say much less than that, again assuming itâs a minor brute, eventually a brute will just get overwhelmed
I mean, consider the fact that it took 3 regular ODSTs just to pin down a chieftain.
He could kill any marine in one punch, I don't think 50 is gonna be that hard considering Brutes are ungodly fast.
The chieftain got up right after, did he not? It was just a tackle to the legs
Given, they had a knife but still, three managed to tackle him to the ground
Iâm referring to the cutscene in Halo 3 ODST
I know.
Here's a fun little thing
In "Stomping on the Heels of a Fuss" this scenario comes up almost exact
ONI tranq and capture a group of Jiralhanae, tie them down with titanium restraints, give them guards, etc.
Once the hairy guys finally regain their full strength, they easily tear out of the restraints and rampage through the ship, no weapons needed
Yeah, that's what I figured lol. the brute in that cutscene was stabbed in the neck while being sadistic with Romeo anyway.
Well that was a whole group of Brutes.
Yes, a group of unarmed Jiralhanae, facing squads of armed marines
That's pretty much the only reason why the ODSTs managed to kill him anyway. If they had no weapons they would be screwed.
There's also many other inconsistencies like in Halo Legends
3 regular ODSTs still managed to get a brute off balance, what Iâm saying here is that in unarmed combat with one brute versus unarmed humans and 3 ODSTs managed to almost bring down a chieftain by themselves, than it really shouldnât take more than like 15-20
I'd just say that's an inconsistency.
Like in Halo Legends.
A SPARTAN-II manages to catch a Chieftain's hammer swing with one arm.
Cal-141 to be exact.
There was also the fact that chieftain was caught off guard, focusing more on Romeo
Which she shouldn't be able to
That too. Had the brute been aware of his surroundings, he would have decimated those ODSTs.
Thatâs fair, tho I still think if three ODSTs with their full weights could make a Chieftain fall to the ground it wouldnât be hard for 10 marines to do the same
Listen if it was a different scenario where it was a group of Brutes that could watch each others backs and stuff then Iâd definitely say they could take easily over 100, but this is one brute with no help whatsoever.
Without inconsistencies, I'd bet it would.
Unless we're saying 10 marines could make a SPARTAN fall to the ground, and we all know that's ridiculous.
A SPARTAN would just rip them a new one regardless.
@main hill the chieftain had a combat knife being stabbed multiple times into his neck. Despite having that happened, he was able to still take them on
He didnât really take them on, he more or less got stabbed once then tackled.
And again, being caught off guard. A knife being stabbed into your neck constantly can drain you a lot physically.
These are the same aliens, who we saw in GoO, take a bullet to the head, and be perfectly fine until it noticed the blood dribbling down its head and registered the hit
Again knife or not with their full weight they still managed to push a brute to ground
Yes, because of an inconsistency.
Ah, so Brutes operate under looney-toons rules
To be fair he isnât wrong, Brutes are recorded to take multiple headshots at times
I still think with one regular Brute, they would get overwhelmed pretty quickly
@gilded mason don't forget the other one who also was shot in the mouth multiple times, and still kept going
Iâm not down playing Brutes by any means, they could definitely kill a bunch, but I still think a large group of marines in hand to hand combat could push over and pin a Brute long enough to land blows and kill the Brute.
Strangulation
....strangle a Jiralhanae
A rock to pick up from the floor, enough punchâs, idk
No weapons
Push the brute off a high ledge
Gouge out the eyes
All it does is annoy the brute, not actually hurt him.
He punched the chest
Couldn't reach the face
Again, he said this is a flat area, unarmed. No marine is winning this unless they outnumber the Jiralhanae by a vast amount
If even then
You never seen the whole thumb thing where they straight up plunge their eyes into the persons eye sockets, itâs a real thing
They aren't going to pin the brute down for a meaningful amount of time, he can easily wrestle them off him.
Then once he gets back up, the marines are screwed.
That one time in ODST was both an inconsistency and had other variables at play.
Not to mention weapons.
They aren't gonna kill the brute with anything they've got.
No matter what variable you have in play it still doesnât take away from the fact they managed to push over a Brute with only 3 guys, 15-20 should be enough
The brute is simply far too fast and strong for the marines to do anything to a brute who is aware.
15-20 won't do anything without inconsistencies.
A knife strike to the neck is going to drain a lot of your physical strength, if not kill you outright.
There are way too many important veins and arteries in the neck for a knife not to do major damage, the fact the Brute didn't collapse is just a testament of their species endurance and strength
There's a reason he stabbed the kneck almost immediately, so that the brute wouldn't tear them apart as soon as he wrestled Rookie off of him.
He stabbed the brute 4 times in total.
The 1st time was before they rest tackle him, the rest were during. I still think to take down a Brute even in that situation is proof enough to say that not a crazy amount of marines is necessary
But this was a Brute who was off guard, not one who was in an active fight.
The brute wouldn't just stand there and let the marines do the same, he'd use his far superior speed to easily outmaneuver them and kill them one by one.
They're about as fast as SPARTANs if not faster.
There is also the fact that ODSTs are peak humans, marines are not.
I donât think Brutes are very known for their speed and agility.
Actually they are.
They cover more ground in one step than humans do in three.
And can leap incredibly far distances and heights.
Not to mention, again, being as fast if not faster than SPARTANs and Elites.
I can believe the jumping aspect but Iâm pretty sure the whole step thing just has to do with their height, taller people tend to have larger strides, doesnât necessarily make em more agile.
Hell, a brute almost killed john in hand to hand, marines stand basically no chance.
Side note, that 3 step thing was in regards to regular humans
Yes, that's what I said.
"The transient contact was backâa shadow moved around the same pillar John used for cover. It moved faster than an Eliteâas fast as John."
Aight
Thatâs funny that a brute was faster than elite when people complain about hesduros elites being Brutish and slow
Irony
I wonder whose idea is it to call a marine a soldier, when it's clearly a rifleman?
I mean, soldier still fits.:P
but that's taboo to a marine.
The definition of soldier is "someone who serves in an army" so it's taboo to a marine to say they serve in an army?
From what I understand some will get a bit fussy about it, since the Marine Corps or Navy is a separate branch from the Army.
Okay, but army isn't just the name of the U.S Army; It's a word that describes a military.
So technically, a soldier, by definition, is someone who serves in an organized military force.
Heck, Master Chief himself gets called a soldier. No one seemed to care then, either.
I'm not gonna disagree but apparently some people are picky about that kind of terminology.
So.
Fair enough. Shrug.
terminology aside, I can see why Halsey is hostile to Spartan-III, whilst showing Jorge some form of caring personality. But i wonder what her perception towards Noble six was.
She trusted him enough to handle Cortana
He has the same reputation as John so yeah.
For some reason, Halsey gives me the vibe of an amused parent when she pointed out Jorge's armour modification.
and why did they lower the assault rifle ammunition from 60 to 32?
Because the MA5B was big, bulky, and pretty unwieldy it was just an impractical assault rifle, so the MA5C was made to be smaller, so they gave it a smaller mag
The smaller mag actually annoyed some soldiers though
For a real life contrast, the MA5B is like the M16 and the MA5C is like the M4, the M4 is supposed to be a smaller version of the M16
The mag should be 40 TBH. Don't like how they keep reusing the same weapon magazine count for different models
Why? Donât fix what isnât broke.
I feel that Miranda Keyes could have been done better.
Agreed.
What is Jared Miller's role actually apart from being fireteam crimson's handler? Has he ever been on a combat mission where he's actually participating in, boots on the ground and all?
He seems to only be a mission handler.
Which is...odd
You'd think they'd put him to other, more physical uses since he's an S4 in full armor
I wish that they could have gave character designations to Fireteam Crimson.
Would've been cool if it was like a Left 4 Dead situation where you had occasional voice lines from your character and you knew who you were.
why do unsc officers even need neural interface implants?
i understand what their purpose is, but are they really that necessary?
I mean what happens when a UNSC officer retires? do they keep the neural implant?
Probably not
Id think so, its a very invasive surgery and itâs probably more invasive to remove it.
But then how do they make sure that intel is not leaked by accident?
or like on purpose?
Likely delete it lol
Probably after every op they would wipe it
Kinda like a Droid in SW
Just my guess
Why would she have any thoughts about noble 6 anymore than anyone else on the team?
At the end of the day the guy was just another Spartan 3
To her atleast lol
He was on par with John
Or atleast close
I mean johnâs not even the best Spartan 2 so congrats on being tied for third I guess.
(Even though thats not much for a Spartan bc john is overrated)
Lol i was typing that exact point
Hes just lucky
Sam is Goated
So is Jerome but thats just my opinion as a Fanboy
Y'all sleeping on Kelly and Linda
I am slowly beginning to prefer Jerome over almost every other Spartan.
why is it so?
I hate cliffhangers. lol. Can't wait to hear this.
Hi, can someone tell me where i can find information about the Warzone Boss called Baron Sroam?
Halopedia has a page about them. It's under the name Mvon 'Sraom.
Thanks!
I am just quite fond of Jerome as a character, and appreciate the design of his armour set.
Fair enough. I think he's interesting but I also think Jerome has the same issues the other spartans have from a writing standpoint.
We don't have any flawless characters in the Halo universe. Acceptance of these issues can lead to an increased level of appreciation for a character.
That's a bit of a fallacy. I'm not saying there are flawless characters. There's really no such thing, anywhere. When there's issues, working to solve them isn't a bad thing. After you accept an issue, you should usually work to fix it when it's possible. (and it is possible)
I keep thinking about where Infinite's story might go. I really hope the Spirit of Fire folks are in it to some degree.
I never stated that I should allow the flaw to remain.
I didn't claim you did.
What are your gripes with Jerome? Do you find him to be relatively bland in nature?
No, I wouldn't call him bland. He's just diet chief. To my knowledge, there's nothing particularly unique in his backstory or even interesting, for that matter. On top of that, similar to quite a few other spartans, he has no real defining personality traits either. Kind-of a blank slate type of character, really. In blue team though, for example (though there are others) I could hear a line of dialogue and think "That's so Chief" or "That's Linda for ya!". Can't really do that with Jerome. This is what I meant by "He has similar issues to quite a few other spartans from a writing standpoint"
I still wouldn't call him bland, because that implies there's anything there, that I find bland. He's a blank slate. Similar to Chief's beginnings. (Including an AI to sass him once in a while) So they could make him cool or he could be a blank slate forever.
You have made a contradiction.
k?
If you mean by the definition of bland, I just mean uniteresting. Which wouldn't be accurate since there's nothing there to find uninteresting.
lmao. So I got curious if I was missing something as far as his backstory, and looked up his Halopedia page. It lists the two Halo Wars game's events, and then under personality and traits, it has 2 sentences.
He seems to take a light-hearted approach for most matters.
I mean all spartan 2s share the same backstory
Not really
The few Spartans 2's we've seen have entirely different experiences during the human-covenant war
Red Team from Halo Wars 1 and 2 were washouts, Black and Grey weren't
And Waffle is mostly right, outside of some minor details, the S-IIs all have basically the same backstory of kidnapped by ONI and trained to be super soldiers to fight insurgents, only to mainly be deployed against the Covenant when they attacked
Is this the kind of channel where you get feedback on halo fan fiction??
(I mean, Im writing a halo fan fiction for a mega construx stop motion video)
I guess if you were wanting to know if parts were lore-accurate or not.
nah this channel is for discussing actual fiction
you mean science-fiction
^yeah this pretty much
Is there anyone who knows a bit about screenwriting, and dialogue, stuff?
Refer to what was said above
Does anyone know how far exactly brutes got technology wise before they nuked themselves
Tier 4 i believe would be more accurate pre-Immolation
