Like, Halo has a lot of gimmicks to set it apart, which is part of what adds to its appeal. Gimmicks are not necessarily bad. Vehicles are a gimmick, Boarding is a gimmick, dual wielding is a gimmick. Market wise those sorts of things are always gimmicks.

The Ark needs to be functional in order to make a new ring. The thing that makes new rings needs to be intact to do its job, and thus it should be kept intact at a higher priority. But it's also going to be pretty complex because it needs to actually physically build another structure.
