I’m not even necessarily just talking about violence, because at the end of the day, Halo is an adult story whereas FNAF is not. So even if it’s not gory or whatever, it still deals with a lot of topics like PTSD and grief and civilians getting killed, and people’s governments like oppressing them and stuff - like a lot of the Halo novels can be very harrowing and depressing even in the non violent scenes.

I remember in Hunt the Truth when they were discussing the children getting kidnapped for the Spartan program and how the flash clones were these scared helpless children who had minds and personalities but were just grown in a lab to die without ever even knowing who they were or why they were sick, and how the UNSC handlers treated like livestock animals instead of people
