I’m worried about the rumors of there being a Halo 1 remake. I mean, it could be cool and a good way to get used to Unreal, but I REALLY don’t want it messing with the canon by changing things in the story in a way where we’d have to question which version is canon. On the other hand, featuring more content from The Flood would be awesome.

However, the rumors of Steve and Jen being replaced with AI make my blood boil because AI is a blight on humanity, but that’s just rumors so I hope Halo Studios knows not to use Gen-AI anywhere whatsoever in literally any capacity.

Also, the rumors of it skipping multiplayer aren’t awesome. I mean, I’d be fine with it, but I’d hope it would at least have custom games like the OG. I mostly play Halo multiplayer in custom games these days, anyway haha

Also, I wanna see where the story goes after Halo Infinite and don’t ever want a reboot, so I’d also really hope a remake would be a one-off and that we’d go back to the main story for the next game.

That’s extremely reductive. There’s a lot more reasons than that and all very valid, not that THAT reason alone isn’t valid enough. Environmental impact, plagiarism, lack of creativity, worse quality inherently, and being used as a cheap way to take jobs away from real people who could 100% of the time do a better job… and that’s just the tip of it. So you’re being pretty reductive.

I think it has a few small benefits and use cases where it could be useful and none of them are related to art. Unfortunately, it is all or nothing because we’ll never just get rid of it from the spaces it shouldn’t be used, so I’d rather it go away entirely because the ratio is like 1-to-10000 on finding any ok uses for it.

Nintendo has done some dark and mature storylines like Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Metroid and including Mother 3 aka Earthbound 3. They won’t hold back if a story demands to be dark.

I think Nintendo’s darker titles are maybe comparable to like Halo 1, 2, and 3 for instance (especially on the existential level, that crap can get real sometimes), but Reach definitely goes beyond that. Also there’s a lot more blood in Halo even if it’s alien blood

But Nintendo knows what buttons to push to make a game look more kid friendly than it is lol
