I never understand takes like this. Because nobody needed to read First Strike to understand what is going on in Halo 2. Like, you can still have characters do things which are not directly important to the main narrative between major instalments. Like, I doubt the novel is going to do anything to majorly shift the narrative. Another example would be Clone Wars, which gives us lots of Anakin and Obi Wan doing things during the titular conflict but it doesn't do anything which needed to be explained in Star Wars Episode III. Granted that was made with Episode II and Episode III already existing

In 4 she was corrupted and rampant. In 5 she was effectively given a temporary cure, and a toolset to 'fix' the galaxy. And like Halsey tried to do when given a similar chance, took it.

But unlike Halsey, she didn't get stopped before that could happen.

It's the point of her address to the galaxy and her actions afterwards. She felt that her form, post-resurrection and post-human as it was, in control of the Domain, was the perfect tool to enforce an Imperial peace upon the galaxy.

She had known war and death and strife her entire life, and was given the tools to stop it. And she chose to try, because as brilliant as she is, she lacked the humility that Halsey had been forced to endure with her own failings.

Seen a YouTube short about a campaign focusing on the Arbiter. I think it'd be a cool idea while having the Arbiter have a squad of the other races. Letting other co-op players play as these other races. Like have a playable Elite, Grunt Ultra (ones with shields), Jackals (sniper or shield gauntlet ones), or Brutes that can go berserk. Have these characters be a.i. controlled in solo, but make them playable by co-op players. If the Arbiter dies during mission, it ends and has to go back to checkpoint. If the others die, the Arbiter can call in a phantom of reinforcements allowing the co-op players to choose different races if they die. Maybe have occasional special events during boss fights or the level where the Arbiter can call in a hunter team where 2 of the players become a hunter pair and one gets stronger if the other dies.
