It depends on what you’re doing.

If you’re doing a story, you can get that written easily enough because you just need to know what’s relevant for your specific plot.

But a lot of people trying to write stories get lost in the weeds, and worldbuild at the expense of plot and character.

I had that issue for a long time.

Halo Hero Shooter - "Halo Heroes" (Rough Draft)

Characters-

Narrator (NPC): Cortana AND 343 Guilty Spark because both are AI. Cortana will have voicelines for the good side, Guilty Spark for the bad side. (The Flood won't be playable characters, they will be miniscule environment hazards to BOTH good and bad sides. This gives an opportunity for the devs to add some humorous voice lines between cortana and guilty spark when both teams are fighting each other and the flood shows up to hinder either side.)

DPS (Hero): Buck, Chips Dubbo, Dare, Emile, Jacob Keyes, Jun, Kelly, Sgt Johnson.

DPS (Villain): Tovarus, Hyperius, Sali Nyon, Skirmisher, Jackal Sniper, Jega Rdomnai, Promethean Soldier, Promethean Knight.

I have a game idea for halo studios. Do any of you know the Ghosts of Onyx by eric nylund? Well in that book about 200-300 spartan III invade and covenant shipyards on that planet. So what if we play as a team during that raid and help whoever blows up the ship yard and it ends with us dying or being taken prisoner and eventually saved and train future generations. Like spartan kurt (a spartan II) who trained spartan III.
