nerfs cleverly disguised as buffs
the highest difficulties in the game getting dialed back 3 settings, true co-op removed in favor of ""parallel play"" and one man army power fantasy
unpopular weapons or bad weapons the community halts any buff discussions for by saying "but why they're good anyway now here's why we should buff currentmetaweapon also um uhh the crossbow and incen breaker is bad or something"
it is still fun game but there is a sense of alienation. the biggest dopamine rush for me was working with a team to overcome TOUGH enemies together and share that experience, but now 4 people just kinda share the same map together and go off to their own corners with super strong weapons against nerfed enemies. it is only technically correct to say they are working together, which of course is the best form of correct. there is also a strong sense of neglect by the devs for off-meta stuff which SUCKS, that's like the reason to focus on them, so people are more driven to use them and our valid well and good number of choices continues to expand. by far the biggest letdown for me was dethroning heavy pen meta on bots in favor of the same cringe anti tank meta that plagues bugs. i regret every second i spent arguing for AT to have a better use on bots because better use was interpreted as Better Than Heavy Pen. And what did we get in return? Supposedly a global nerf stripping big bugs to heavy armor, yet heavy pen weapons are still characteristically horrible against them, unless you shoot in the spots you could already be dealing full damage to with a light pen primary!

i feel especially alienated because pre buffdivers the OPS and 500KG had a unique "short cooldown heavy buster" niche that was not only taken away but we got nothing else in return to fill that niche. I was an OPS main but heavy HP bloat means direct hits are now a requirement where before the AoE explosion was good enough for hulks and tanks
