ammo caps on it are also annoying compared to ARs with like 300 rounds

jumping around means you're moving around. think of it like a plane, it's in the air and moving, and military aircraft don't use semi-automatics because that's really inaccurate when in motion. they use autocannons for a reason

I don't think going with a Starfield clone as a way to retire Master Chief is the right thing to do. They can just give us a new protagonist to follow in FPS Halo games. Unless you want to just rewrite the war, and have faith in HS to be able to keep up with an emergent, player influenced narrative.

Make the thruster pack an ability the player has naturally and can use for movement and combat like how you could in Halo 5 (Though axe the ground pound as I feel it's a little too powerful) but when they pick up equipment, like a Bubble Shield, the player can toggle to use the Bubble Shield or the thruster pack. Using the Bubble Shield would consume it like how it does in Infinite

The show has some quality DNA. Yesterday I started rewatching S2, and that scene with Ackerson and his dad in the hospital had me fighting back emotions. They really dug deep into the characters. There are some solid elements they can use for whatever they do next. Whatever they do, I hope it chases a good story.
