Not really it would be similar to artillery or MLRS, it just needs someone to point the way

It literally has a fire control deck and gets aimed by Cortana.

MACs do not require spotters, there's no horizon and infinite range.

The most you might need spotters for is digital ones, for dealing with the gravitic equivalent of windage and such, but that's not a real spotter.

Like, MAC cannons are a primarily space based weapon, but for the times they are used in atmosphere, you utilise the ship's systems for targeting. I imagine the only time they'd require someone to be a spotter so to speak is if the ship's systems are damaged, but then I'd be wondering why it's still in the fight

Steam Deck is a really really really great device - assuming most of what you play are Steam games its a simple experience that simply works.

Only time I advise against it is if you play across other libraries or games requiring windows (like Fortnite)

Maybe the main bummer for MCC on steam deck is the lack of being able to do co-op crossplay since its not considered a PC or Console anymore
