Multiplayer doesn't really matter, and Infinite's is free if you just want to try Halo

Also the MCC (Master Chief Collection) is how you play the games from CE-4, and it is fairly expensive normally, but it goes on sale for around $10 often

I watched the Metroid Prime 4 trailer today and the first thing I thought was how the whole thing gave me a Halo 5: Guardians feel. Made me realise that if they'd just taken the Halo brand off it and instead made an original IP, Not-Halo 5 might've worked better.

I'm gonna say that core FPS gameplay isn't what sells a game to me, it's the aesthetic because FPS gameplay is largely the same.

For me it's just some of the gun designs and sound, and the storm covenant just doesn't look great alongside some of the prome weapons being just orange versions of UNSC weapons like the scattershot, although they look good imo

I would take a new game that learned from infinites mistakes and furthered the story then a remake of a game everyone has played by now

Mainly because there's so much expanded material they can explore from Halo: The Fall of Reach, Flood, and First Strike.

I'd definitely say a 1:1 remake of CE wouldn't interest me.
