Game Porting Toolkit is marketed at developers to test their games, it's not for consumers who wish to play on their Mac

But alas, not all is lost. You still have the power of Xcloud in Game Pass Ultimate, and that is guaranteed to be a better experience than what you wish to attempt with those tools 🙌

Be weird to tell everyone they have to pivot to working on an old engine that has plenty of problems due to its age. Back in the day there were map packs, but those weren't additions to the campaign, as Bungie never pursued that back when they worked on Halo, and only added maps that most people never ended up playing since more people just didn't by the map packs

If you're bad at the plasma pistol you can use the plasma rifle for melting shields, a bit less instant and reliable, but a good ol' fashioned strategy nonetheless.

Yeah, in Infinite the plasma pistol is my least favorite of the plasma weapons, the Raveger and Pulse Carbine are just so fun.

I'd bet it came from the multiplayer since it sounds more negative, but it definitely applies moreso to campaign nowadays.

When you charge a plasma pistol in modern games, it homes in on targets, but I don't think it does in Combat Evolved, it fires just the same as other weapons.

I've been playing with the Pulse Carbine allot more as of late and honestly, despite my gripes with the design feeling a bit too flattened compared to how other Covenant designs are, I've been really enjoying it as a weapon

The pulse carbine would mesh well in a sandbox with the plasma rifle, either in Infinite or a future game I think. If they add the two to another game, I think emphasizing on its range and adding the scope from Halo 5's carbine would be a good strength and a cute way to make it stand out from the plasma rifle.

See, the Stalker Rifle I think is fine, but the Pulse Carbine just feels less like a Covenant gun and more like someone's idea of what a Covenant gun should look like if they got a vague description. It's not a terrible design but it's just not too interesting compared to other Covenant weapon designs

It's weird because it's a great textbook definition, it looks like a plasma weapon, its silhouette is unique, and its first person model is engaging... But it's pretty generic. I think it's just too flat and needs something more three dimensional, poetically, like the Storm Rifle.

Exactly, it's a big part of Covenant weapon design language to have a bulbous design, as seen with plenty of the weapons in the previous games

It's why I like the H5 and Infinite takes on the Plasma Pistol so much, it brings the weapon much more in line with what other Covenant weapons look like

I would love to see future Halo games have new takes on existing weapons (which I know some people here wouldn't prefer, and they're totally justified) and it made me wonder if making the Storm Rifle a plasma equivalent to the silenced SMG would work. I've always felt like the Storm Rifle had a great sleek design for long-distance combat and its projectiles look and feel (though I have no clue if they actually are) much faster.

I feel like the Storm Rifle's role in Halo 5 was fine. Wasn't too dominant as a weapon but it kinda had to not be due to how common it was in the campaign

And I also prefer how Halo 5 handled the silenced SMG by making the silencer an attachment for the weapon (In general, I am a big fan of the attachments Halo 5 introduced, even if I think the implementation of them could've been a bit less rigid due to the REQ system)

i know halo's not there yet (timeline wise) but i wish we could jump forward maybe 300-500 years and get a game set in a universe where humans and the covenant species have been intermingling and living on shared worlds. would be cool to see how the cultures/customs mix. not quite a star wars style story but something maybe similar?

I have a love/hate relationship with the attachments. I get annoyed when the only difference are tweaks (like the multiple different scopes), it's something I disliked with the five precision weapons in Halo 4, but then some are more creative like the bayonet, Forerunner bullets, and weird tracking thing it has.

For me it's dependant on the situation, but I often used it whenever I needed to strip shields but not have to worry about having to EMP anything. It's also just real nice for unloading into a target quickly without having to worry about charging anything up
