when ToTK came out, the video games store next to my house actually pulled a surprise and notified regulars that they're gonna stay open until midnight for those who wanna come, buy it early and get a free small gift.
Me and 3 more folks showed up, the 6 of us (us and the 2 sellers in the shop) ended up talking about the game and midnight launches for 30 min. And I got a free poster I turned to a framed picture which is now hanged at my bedroom.

General reasoning is that there's more diverse groups and social circles involved in gaming now, and paradoxically groups tended to narrow down-that being also partially reinforced by funny little things like discord groups and such.
It's harder to branch out, especially in person, both due to lack of social opportunity and the stratifications of video-game related culture. Combine that with larger gaps in culture between those groups due to the continuing division and tolerance differences, and yeah, things are sour.

Halo infinite seems to now have a damage consistency issue. I don't mean to be that guy but how can you have the net code for the other halos which work pretty much perfectly, and not use that? I'd rather play any other shooter than Halo Infinite with the inconsistency issue I mention.
A perfect example is the grav hammer a nd how it now works in a cone in front of the user, and it seems that when directly on top of someone, there's a high chance you just don't deal damage to them at all. More inconsistencies are related to explosions

"yes they do" and i was there with my background of we having xbox for almost 20 years with no broken controllers so i could easily just say "NO thank you".
