IVs are former Navy, Army, Marine, and Air Force personnel who have been heavily augmented to fit the Spartan standard utilizing modern techniques of augmentation. Older marks of Spartans have trained them to the prior Spartan standards, and all IVs are considered Spartans by the proper authorities on the matter (which is not Halsey, because she's well established as a petty narcissist), IE, other Spartan IIs and IIIs.

They exist in extremely limited numbers, though the augmentation techniques utilized to make them and the requirements for said augmentations are considered relatively archaic and barbaric respectively, so they are effectively phased out relics that still serve due to the nature of their existence.

The former because III's procedures are just as effective but work on most people, and IVs procedures are a tad less effective but more heavily geared to work with Mjolnir resulting in a nearly identical complete package of Spartan and Armor, and are also still effective on most who could apply; And the latter because it's rightfully considered sick and wrong to use children when you can augment and train adults just fine.

Contrary to popular belief, IV augmentations actually do have strict requirements for entry, but most extremely fit and savvy individuals meet these requirements by nature of their physicality; Someone predisposed to a less healthy and athletic lifestyle can't be a IV, seemingly.

Also in my opinion, Halo should be collabing with a different company along with 343 Industries as so far this was Microsoft's own corporate spinoff to keep Halo alive, and in my personal opinion they have failed to create an experience that caters to the fanbase, now have they made good products like the Master Chief Collection? Yes, and they did give us some cool merchandise, but the games seemed to be not as good as what BUNGIE offered, so a collaboration could get 2 companies to get a balanced mindset to be able to get a Halo game that is in my opinion, a game that both 343 and BUNGIE fans would be on board with.

Hey, has 343 given any thought into adding Spartan Ops to Infinite? If there was any game to add it to, it'd be this one. I'd like an opportunity to do something like that to see my spartan in more places than firefight, and as it stands, its the only PvE gametype we have. From a story standpoint, spartan ops on the ring featured in the campaign makes a hellofa lot of sense considering that there's a ton of story involving spartan strike forces hitting the ring.

Using the mangler in a gun kata sort of fashion actually makes you feel like a spartan, not just some clunky soldier with potato aim.

I have seen some players who need to practice in ai bot matches for their aim. their game sense is there clearly, but their aim is atrocious.

It's alright. People don't really get the story, which to be fair, the pacing can put people off, but it's got an undeservedly bad rap.

mary sue is a literary device used to indicate a character that is being given a lot for little to no actual contribution to the story. locke is a punk, who was being peddled as the new guy "Look at him, he has all this, hes cool isnt he?!" he is undeserving of his station compared to buck, who was also on that team. buck literally deserved getting made a spartan. hell in reach they said verbatim: "The only way he'd be any better, is if he was a spartan."
