Last but not least, the nostalgic Armor Lock armor ability from Halo: Reach returns as an equipment pickup on all BTB and Firefight maps. Vehicles in Halo Infinite are a major pain point for players, so re-introducing Armor Lock seemed like a no brainer. One of the major drawbacks of the armor ability in Reach was that a player could simply be beaten down after releasing the ability. In Infinite, we are implementing a damage soak mechanic (similar to Shield of Thorns in Smite or Black Panther in Marvel's Black Panther) where any damage taken during Armor Lock is exploded outward when Armor Lock is released.
