When the cadet basic armor coatings were introduced, there were already very basic red and blue armor coatings that you could get. Instead of making peoples shop bundles pointless, they updated them to be clean and shiny with accents of silver.
Red became Scarlet Wake on Mk VII or Scarlet Skies on Mk V

Its a little beaten up but it's still pretty shiny.

Odds are, there’s a decently sized pool of new players, and you’re getting matched with a mix of new guys and vets

just in case you think i'm exaggerating how badly i've been doing; i've gotten a cumulative total of 5 kills in the past dozen matches and only one of them was with the bandit evo lol. if there is a hidden reputation system in the matchmaker i'd be shocked if it didn't consider me to be intentionally throwing by now

Idk if you can get flagged for doing poorly in matches. That’s absurd

The game uses predicted performance metrics, based on your recent match histories

The matchmaker algorithm likely knows you’re likely to perform the same and what your peaks are lol

I only know this because I use waypoint to look at my own predicted performance levels

The graphs are very interesting to see tbh. I think what you need, is a lil break to recover mentally from overthinking in game and having some bad luck
