my point was that i remember reading that and getting a really intense feeling of engagement with the ODSTs who did that, since they all displayed so much emotion and strength, something I remember feeling the games extremely lacked(i never cared about ODSTs until i read The Flood)

But today I was playing Exodus and I got to the part where you meet the bullfrogs and the ODSTs were like "See if you can keep up, Spartan" and i remember hearing that like, countless times and always thinking that it was a basic video game line, basically saying "This way to the next checkpoint, player!" but in my most recent playthrough I got chills when he said it, and I couldn't stop thinking about how powerful and resourceful the ODSTs were on Installation 04, and how they were kinda snarky but totally had every right to be.
