The realities of what leaving earth does to the human mind and body lead me to believe that we aren’t gonna ever go anywhere. The people who currently do so are in peak physical condition and they come back with all kinds of medical issues after being gone for a short period. People don’t realize how tied we are to this planet. Our circadian rythym, our hormones, our entire physiology is dependent on this planet and you can’t just undo that. And that’s just the physical. They’ve found that the earth produces a sound and without it there are significant increases in anxiety. Imo - there’s nowhere to go. This is paradise. As good as it gets. Perhaps with transhumanism it could become possible, but that would be a major mistake imo.

mcc doesn't show your steam name. for all intents and purposes, i dont think mcc even "knows" about steam; you log in with your xbox live gamertag and that's all it uses. either way, even if your menus showed your steam name, the games themselves would still show your gamertag

it's not wise to take support out of public channels unless its something official (ie: through waypoint support or steam support, in this case). there's people out there ready to scam you at the drop of a hat and all it takes is the promise of "fixing" your issue.

raise a ticket with halo support. maybe i'm wrong. i dont play on steam; i dont even play on pc. if it's possible, the halo support staff will be able to tell you the steps. but given that i'm not seeing any results except people from about 3 years ago asking if it would be a feature (none of the responses indicate it is), this strongly suggests it... isnt possible.

the only thing i can imagine is that maybe that happens if you both have your xbox live accounts tied to your steam accounts, and both have eachother added on both platforms. at which point, it would potentially show his name switching for you, and your name switching for him, just so you can remember who in the party is who on which platform.

the multiplayer itself makes use of gamertags, not steam names. it would be a purely cosmetic thing on your side only, and in the menus only.
